8:27 Ninja Squid is meta because the stages in S3 are designed in a way that benefits chargers. It's not to an unfair degree, but there are a lot of vantage points where they can control the middle of the stages; either by standing directly on mid, or somewhere from the side. People use it to avoid being sniped, basically.

I feel like the best way to rank up weapons in Splatoon 3 is by specifically playing on Splat Zones with that weapon. The points (from what I'm understanding) is only counting the TURF inked, not the points from a match in total. And some games of Splat Zones can last the entire time because the timer is set to 5 minutes. So you could in theory ink the entire base and continue to ink the zone while improving your points needed for ranking up the weapon.
As a Kensa undercover brella main from Splatoon 2, we are all hiding. Waiting for the moment to strike. Mostly just waiting for Nintendo to make Brellas playable and have good kits.

Stop splatting almost exclusively and start turfing. I think I was using duelies at one point - was willing to try different weapons because new game and all - and started getting a power trip i didn't immediately notice. i could splat so far away without needing to charge and it was intoxicating, but then my losing streak started. I became a little too focused on splats and not enough turfing until i lost many matches in a row. The fun in splatting players wasn't helping me win. I knew the weapon didn't paint well, but wanted to try them anyway, but eventually i had to admit that i couldn't keep using them if I wanted to start winning again. Changing back to the aerospray MG was the best decision I made for turf. I mained it in 2, even though in hindsight PG had the better kit.

If you find yourself losing too much try a different playstyle. Sub spamming can be quite effective when you aren't confident in direct fighting.
