I, huge G-fan, brought my girlfriend, who isn’t a huge G-fan, to an IMAX showing this afternoon. She was blown away, ending had us both in tears, and our audience applauded. You done did good Toho, you done did good.

I took my 11 yr old nephew who wasn't really a Godzilla fan. That boy left the theatre a Godzilla fan, we left and he said "WE HAVE TO SEE MORE GODZILLA MOVIES!"
And thus, another one is added to the fold!! What a great movie for their first....it is going down in my top 3 big G movies of all time!
I could wave watched an entire movie about just the human characters struggling through their lives in post war Japan. Godzilla was the icing.
G minus One is hands down the best monster movie ever made...What an absolutely amazing movie:)
I was tearing up throughout and couldn't believe it. It's a Godzilla movie after all! But just knowing the historical factors and what Japan went through, not only from the devastation from WW2, but the 2011 earthquake and resulting tsunami and nuclear plant meltdown. This movie brought all of that to mind. So I teared up. The main character and his internal struggle, so phenomenally performed, made me tear up. The sound, particularly the vocal chorus toward the climax was incredibly haunting and combined with the magnificence of the human story, the wrath of God Zilla (he's a god, let there be no mistake) and the anguish of this defeated protagonist make for a beautiful work of art. So I teared up. It is not flawless, but it is a masterpiece.
I was totally astounded by Gojira Minus One. It felt like 30 years ago when I watched my first Gojira movie. I cant believe they made this movie with a budget of 15 million. This should be a lesson to Hollywood.
I was also surprised of how good human plot was, especially in this genre.
This movie is special and for me its the best Gojira movie ever made. From the serious ones I mean. We will always have a special place for that happy jumping and drop kicking lizard, that doesnt take itself too seriiously :)
Film looks and sounds better then 75% of the 200 million US movies and they spent 15 million...... unbelievable. Also the first (an probably the only time) they made me actually care about the human cast in a Godzilla film
I saw it in the 4DX effects theater and was completely blown away... figuratively and literally.
I was also tearing up during this movie towards the end and it wasn't because the story was emotional in that way or anything like that , I was just tearing up because i was fully in awe of the masterpiece I was watching and I knew this was a moment to cherish. It is a perfect movie and it had something all the western Godzilla movies lack, HEART. My wife, who isn't a massive Godzilla fan, was blown away and wants to see it again. Unbelievable movie and apparently on a $15 million budget. Insane.
I went today. I went 100 percent blind. Didn’t see any trailers. Loved it! I’ve seen so many Godzilla movies, this is one of the best.
Saw this movie in a packed Imax theater, heard many nose sniffles and in my row saw many clearing their eyes, so my suggestion 'bring the tissue'...May have had a budget of approx $15 million, but believe me it looks more like a $50 million plus movie...

Already seen the movie 4 times and I’m gonna keep going never thought their would be a Godzilla movie where the humans didn’t feel like a nuisance

Despite the low budget, the CGI and VFX did their best. I was a little uncomfortable with some of the details, but considering the budget, it was more than enough!
If there is a sequel, I would like Takashi Yamazaki to be the director. No other Japanese director would have been able to produce images and scripts like this, and there is no such director in Japan! Above all, he is the only VFX professional in Japan.

Like you guys, I'm a kaiju fan/Godzilla fan & this is now undeniably one of my favorite Godzilla movies. I do my best to tell all my friends that they need to see this movie without spoiling it and it is SO FUCKING HARD TO NOT TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE STUFF IN THIS MOVIE
It was so good, definitely worth the hype. I was a bit skeptical also, but it blew my mind how good it was. Loved the score.

Saw it at a legit IMAX theater, and received a Godzilla IMAX poster too, which is already hanging on my wall in my home office! Want to see it again soon!
You guys Rock! I saw the movie in Japan when it was released in November. All I can say is what my man said “Phenomenal “ beyond anything Gojira has ever been.
Omgosh. That was my reaction too coming out of the theater! I had no words. It stayed with me and I was like whaaaaaa? Is this really a Godzilla movie??? Why am I crying?? Lol just amazing

Me and my spouse were really moved as well… both of us fighting back tears at that ending group of scenes. Can you believe the glut of commercials??? We had like 20 or 30 minutes of commercials, seemed like hours. I hadn’t been to a theater for a while as well so it was a sad shock. But the experience of the film absolutely made up for it! I remember your reaction to the Mandy trailer. You two are awesome.
The first thing I thought of when I got out of the theater was how much Lady Phat Blood was going to love this film. After recent ones! So happy for you both! Lol!
I've been listening to Minus One's soundtrack for the last two days. When Godzilla started his rampage in Ginza and that theme kicked on I got chills and my wife (also a huge Godzilla fan) grabbed my hand and squeezed. I'm a HUGE fan of the 60s Godzilla vs Mothra and it was like the music cues were ripped straight from that movie.
Some of the cgi is pretty shotty but for the budget they had it’s a miracle what got done
This movie rocked me. I shed many tears. Some from sadness and many from joy. Never expected that.
Saw it for the second time yesterday and As a loong time Godzilla fan, I was blow away. Without spoiling, it's a very dark movie. There's some moments where it played like a horror film at times too and I loved every single bit of it. 10/10! Go see it and I love the channel guys!! Much love 💯🤙🤙
This is how you do a Godzilla movie. Have the main course be the interesting and likable characters, with Godzilla as the dessert.

Great, great movie. I was overcome with emotion. Uncontrollable crying as if I was experiencing some kind of therapeutic moment. Amazing. Just go see it. ( and I'm not a Godzilla fan!)
for mine experience in Imax too they show the trailer then went blank for 30 second then repeated the trailers again for a total of 30 minutes.😁 we just saw it again with the whole family today for a second time

Saw the movie Thursday night and only 25 people in the theater. I was pretty much blown away from the Friggin' "Acting." A high-quality movie.
for my experiences, and I've seen every film multiple times (even the one that shall not be named), this was the overall best Godzilla film I've enjoyed. Pain, fear, redemption, hope, etc, etc, etc. And the whole Bikini atoll scene ties everything together with the current Monsterverse as well as Monarch:Legacy of MNonsters. 5 star baby!

You two had me so scared at the beginning because I completely respect your opinion of any gojira related subject as they mirror my own. Phenomenal. I'm going to drive an hour to go to the nearest theater and see it tomorrow.
I just saw this and I admit I cried at the end. This blew me away. I am a long time fan of Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, Gamers and the rest of the kaijus. I absolutely HATE the American versions and of Godzilla except for the one where they worked with TOHO and it showed. I loved everything from the writing, acting to the special effects. I never got bored and even loved the human story. That they made this movie at 15 million dollars while Hollywood makes scrappy $500+ movies. They can learn from the Japanese!

Well, I haven't seen ALL the 'Zilla movies but this one really did a good job with the human characters, in particular (no spoilers) when the man cries on the street and the ending when he..... really got me.
Don't know about you guys but I was a bit disappointed about the Zilla design. A Zombie Zilla? but the score when he appeared was fantastic, raised my blood pressure.

My fiancée, who I haven’t shared my Godzilla fandom with, came with me. She could feel me tense up when they played the original theme, and held my hand so tight. Even though she did not understand why it was special, she understood that this movie WAS special, especially to me

The theater in my town had no IMAX showings and while the nearest theater is 45-60 minutes away, I didn't think to see if they had IMAX showings. Either way, I'll definitely be buying the home release of this movie.
What a fucking masterpiece, this movie is the exact example of why we love movies man. I can’t stop thinking about it and was practically on a high after seeing it.

I was tearing up throughout the movie, some cathartic scenes for survivors with ptsd. The director-writer did a “phenomenal” evocative storytelling. Check out his “Always Sunset” trilogy movies.

The original score is one of the best ive heard. 'Resolution' always gives me a frog in my throat cause it is so emotional. The redemption arc of a disgraced Kamikaze pilot is incredible and so impactful for those that know about Japans honor culture in the 40s.

Agree on the human story. Godzilla was used as an accent piece to create distruction all at the right moments. He doesn't dissappoint.

I heard good things from others, but I knew I HAD to hear PSG and LPB and their review of this movie. And it was only made for 12 million!! Marvel Studios/Disney could learn a thing or two from this movie; that mega budgets do NOT automatically equal mega hits!! Love your channel, guys!! 🤘🤘🤘
Saw it 6 times! They put it back in theaters til the 4th here! So im finally gonna see it in IMAX and i cannot wait to see it AGAIN! haha. I will say the city sequence is my favorite part of the film! Its so visceral and straight in your face! That blast is insane! My theater walls rattled! 🤘🔥💀

The only two people on RUclips im excited to hear your review on g-1. Been a long time fan of the channel since your review on godzilla KoM. Other channels that review gman movies in the recent years just doesn't feel "authentic" (not a hardcore fan) but with you guys i get that a everytime i see your reactions. G54 has never been in my top 5 in terms of alltime fav Godzilla movies, Minus one broke into it that is how good it is.
I took my grandson 13 and I told him where going to see Godzilla minus one he goes what’s that I said it’s a “Godzilla “ he goes no what’s minus one “I don’t know where gonna find out “ he says i didn’t see any trailers for this movie is it gonna be any good” “where gonna find out” , it was fantastic we loved it incredibly sad and moving where watching it and he leans over to me and goes that’s not fair it so good, and to do on the budget they had the character’s and story where interesting and compelling Godzilla was icing on the cake.
Can't wait for December 15th so I can see it

Im glad you guys enjoyed it, me and my family enjoyed the film as well. I wouldn't say its the best Godzilla movie ever but its defiantly the best one from the Reiwa era (so far at least, depending on if Toho makes more after this one). Better than "Singular Point", way better "Shin Godzilla", and a million times better than the god dang anime trilogy. 👑🦖👍🥇

I have watched every godzilla movie and I will tell you with full confidence this was the best and most artistic.
@@dredgewalker Well I have seen all the Godzilla movies too, including the anime stuff and the recent Monarch show. And while I did like the movie and I do want to see it again at some point. However though I still prefer some of the other Godzilla movies over this one, and the ones that I prefer had more of an impact on me. 📼🌋🦖🌉💿
