Tom is by far the most likeable man on RUclips. I thoroughly enjoy watching these wonderful videos!
Tom, my thoughts exactly! "I didn't get on this boat to watch a flat screen."
I've been aboard your boat Tom when I met you and Roz just after you had it delivered and you were in the Hamble. It's a fabulous yacht with all the right things in the right place as I'd expect from you. And yes I signed the visitors book ...
You make nostalgia matter, and leave me with a smile on my face after every video, a sincere thanks for that good sir !
We're gonna need an indepth tour of that spirits locker, Tom.
Mr Cunliffe, a lovely home indeed and one you bring along across the blue wide world. So very charming a life.
I could watch this stuff all day long and not get bored.😀👍⛵️
There should be a term for "just a superb all-round video that warms your cockles while teaching you things" ... coz this video is that. Cheers Tom, lovely job.
Dear Tom, you always amaze me you and Mrs C. Are an inspiration to all those sailor's out there and all those young people who are coming into that profession. Keep up the good work. You are a very dedicated sea farmer. God bless stay safe.
Spot on as always. Not sure about not having a flat screen TV? That's where we watch you on RUclips! Sail Safe. Ant & Cid.
My boat also came vith a flatscreen. Wife loves it. I hate it. But i compromise,,, I need the upper hand on other matters (I'm sure it'll be broken one day🤞)
Same here. We also watch SV Impavidus on it. Stops the crew mutinies if stuck waiting out weather for a week too.
That is a wonderful post Tom, really enjoyed it.
Could have been longer, much longer but appreciate the kind gesture, showing us how you’ve made her special below decks. And what a success, she’s a really homely boat. Thank you
You never fail to make me smile Tom. At the end of your videos I find myself smiling and with eyes moist with emotion.
I just found your channel Tom and very impressed and I loved the comment on a flat screen tv and your right who needs that crap on a sailboat ⛵️ but I subscribed and I’m going to do some ketchup on your videos and I bought a Great Dane 28’French built boat sitting in st. Mary’s Georgia and I’m about to embark on a journey, thanks Tom for your very knowledgeable information from a old salty sailor ⛵️👍
Beautiful Tom. Andy UK
3:04 "Well, I don't want a flat-screen TV on my boat..." Too right, mate! What a perfect comment! And what a lovely, personal, and 'home-y' video. And the fact that that photo has been with you and Ros for decades is so touching! Would love to see her do a short video sometime on Life With Tom, it would be a corker!
A cracking boat to use as a base.
Lovely- thank you, Tom
Your enthusiasm and experience are a wonderful combination. Inspirational.
Thank you so much , you have such a wonderful way of talking and give good advices
I agree about the table. That's rather lovely.
Tom just makes good sense in his view and vantage always.
If I could speak my heart with ease, I hope I'd do it as earthely and joyfully as you! Obrigada Tom
Lovely video Tom, those bits and pieces make the boat your own.
There's much to learn from looking at your saloon and surrounds, Tom. Memorable words indeed, not looking like a skiing shed or workshop, not slumming it and not watching [f*##$] TV. Lighting which can alter brightness and colour temperature, oil lamps and giving the eyes a rest from summer harshness. The table is a masterpiece that does not look like a caravan or motel feeding station. The soft furnishings are just right.
I hope a build happening at the moment takes a few clues! There nothing like experience and taste.
We're watching this RUclips video on our f****ng TV on our boat. Where else can I watch my Captain Ron DVD?
Hi Phil I watch Captain Ron on my laptop. Love him! I'm probably a dinosaur these days but I just can't cope with a big screen in my lovely saloon. Tom
A very sweet video. I live aboard my Farr 1020 and agree its the little things you do to make the boat cosy and your own. Spot on about the lighting. Thank you.
Thanks Tom
Tom, as always a fascinating video. Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it John
Love your boat, it has a lovely feel about it ,warm and cozy. I have some added touches that I like on mine that are unique and warm ,these little add ons make me happy .
Well from the name of my channel you won't doubt that I share your thoughts wholeheartedly Tom. We have a Westerly Konsort which I'm pleased to say the previous owners, of which there has been but two, made her very cosy below. She's lacking an oil lamp though which I intend to remedy before she dips her keels in the water this year.
Thank you Tom for this and all your other videos. Thank you for giving me a link to you stove that I will be fitting in my sail boat. Oh but now I will have to have a wine rack.
lovely
Thank you Mr. Cunliffe. This couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m about to go on a search for my first boat. I want it to feel like a second home.
I know every boat takes some work to make it your own, but now I’m a little more aware of what possibilities and ideas to consider when looking at a particular boat 👍🏻
Wonderful
Had my Francis Kinney 37 for about 4 years now. Given her numerous upgrades. Being a newbie to boat owning and sailing I thought I might be doing things wrong... but having watched your channel I feel I'm on the right track!! Same thought process as you! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Thanks Tom, excellent video. Are you hanging around there considering stuff that's going on not to far away
Brilliant, what a gorgeous boat!
As fascinating as ever, Tom! Many thanks.
Im going to make the sea my home when I can barley afford it. but i appreciate the love you show
She’s a beauty.
Captain, keeping your boat warm is one thing, keeping it warm & dry is another. What's your secret for keeping the cool hulls interaction with the warm air from staining that beautiful varnish?
I love Martyn Mackrill's painting.
Your boat looks wonderful, truly a home on the ocean. I totally agree with you. But i think it's important to use the boat a bit in all sorts of conditions between the moment your idea of personalization or improvement appears before you execute the project, you need at least to consider, in harbor / at anchor, pleasant sailing, rough conditions and by all means also consider the times your mother in law is onboard. Fantastic video as always. Thanks for shearing. Best regards from Jarle
Outstanding video well done both of you
Excellent advice. Thank you.
Simply Wonderful thanks 🌈🌈👌
We live on ours and it really is a home
Good stuff Tom, as ever. Hull needs a polish !!
Thanks, Tom. Informative and entertaining, as ever. You've certainly given me much food for thought. One thing though, I noticed that you had what looked like a very nice brass oil lamp over your saloon table. Could you make any recommendations as to where I could look for something similar? Any guidance will be much appreciated. Thanks, John.
🤩👏👏👏
the spirits have their special locker of their own pwahahaha
👍!!!
I have enjoyed your videos immensely and a great story teller.
I have never seen sailor's use night vision binoculars is there a reason?
Also what power do you recommend using aboard?
I applaud you, no flat screen TV, I won't have one in my house let alone boat. Your boat is lovely but I prefer a more work boat come military style. All the the ones of the boat I'm now hoping to buy are the same style as yours and it doesn't suit my neo scruffy life style, and I'm to old to start major modifications..
So how do you watch these videos? On some sort of flat lcd or, led screen I'd wager.
@@philgray1023On a phone, and I hope to extremely limit that..
Using the hole saw makes me hyperventilate but I'm learning to cope with it. My boat is set up exactly the way I like it.
Hi Tom, just wondering what do you feed your stove with, do you can a coal bunker somewhere onboard?
I would have liked to have seen the cooking facilities (galley?), bedroom and toilet facilities as well. I find it difficult to grasp how they all fit in.
A TV on a yacht is an abomination. Personally I have a photo of the Fastnet for that position. Would like to know more about the stove and what fuel it uses
Learn from Mr. Cunliffe... it's called a "saloon", not a "salon" as most people seem to want to call it these days. People seem to associate "saloons" with bars, but all "saloon" actually means is "gathering place".
I am shopping for a new boat and every time I see a TV below I say to myself " That has to go first"
Get me right I do not mind a nice large monitor on my Nav station but a TV ? Really?
great sailing and boating vids... and not one bikini in sight...
