    Great review. I've been looking at the Dualliner as well as the spray in (Line-X), but these are looking to be the best option. FYI-Your garage is so organized. I need to straighten mine again ;)

    I have a bedrug. The only issue I had with it was the tailgate section kept on falling off. Maybe bc the top of the tailgate (2019 Ram 1500 Classic) is plastic but I did buy the kit to make it stick better. I did buy some stronger epoxy based glue and it has not come off. I put concrete blocks on it to make sure it was super tight when curing. We fish and love that the rods and reels do not get thrown around and the sides of the bed does not get all scratched up. I am a mother of 4 (2 of them teens) and I am always stocking up the back with groceries from Costco and Sam's runs. It is nice my bottled water is not sloshing around in the back of the truck when I turn. Sometimes I will park under a tree and the kids will have a picnic in the back when doing activities with the kids and we can't eat inside places due to new covid restrictions. The bedbug is a game changer for people with trucks.

      That is interesting, I haven't had to many issues with mine. I did have the piece that folds between the gate and bed wear out and tear in a few places but it never came loose from the tailgate. I did clean mine really good with alcohol and then I think I even scored it up with my knife so that the Velcro would grab really good. Haven't had any issues. The other thing I am wondering is I usually have mine covered. I wonder how the UV from the sun affects it. My bed gets hotter with a lid than without so I know its not heat but maybe the UV rays?

    Does this fit over linex? My beds starting to show some surface rust spots and I was considering doing linex for rust protection and then have the bed rug install on top.

      I've not tried over a bedliner. Fitment likely will not be a problem but getting it to adhere to the liner might be a problem.

    • @EdwinBonneau

      I put a deer in mine this winter and fish pretty regularly out of it. Can't say I've put a lot of fish directly in it but I haven't had any issue getting stuff out of it. The worst was fuel which I resolved by going to the self car wash and used the pressure washer soap feature. It worked out great and just let it dry out in the sunshine. I haven't noticed any lasting odors.

    I drop hydraulic fluid on mine and I’m trying to figure out how to get it out. Do I need to use some type of degreaser and then a pressure washer or what?

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  4 месяца назад +1

      Anytime I get something nasty on mine I just hit it with the pressure washer and heavy soap/degreaser. I've even used the paid pressure washers where one of the options is soap in the pressure washer stream. Then just rinse it out thoroughly. I never get all the soap out. Seems like it sticks in the fibers pretty well but I just let it dry and keep on using the bed.

    I just got a quote for a Rhino liner; $600 plus tax. I could do a Raptor liner for like $150 including the sanding and masking materials, but then I'll still probably want a mat to protect cargo. I think you just sold me on the Bed Rug. For my uses it sounds perfect. Great video, man!

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for the compliment. I really do stand by my review of this, I just don't see a better liner out there for covered beds. For uncovered beds it's still a great option though you could convince me that snow/ice accumulation could pose a problem in the winter. But with a covered bed there isn't a better option out there.

  • @garenpletzer1532

    You mentioned it takes longer to dry. I have a gooseneck and a camper I pull with a 5th wheel. I would have the cover closed as far as possible when pulling. It could see alot of water. I do have a spray in liner but Its way to slipery. Do you think it will hold up and stay in good with the wind if opened partially?

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  2 года назад

      Yeah it will dry out pretty quick on warm days. If your looking for traction I would say the tradeoff for longer dry time is totally worth it. It depends on what you store back there. If you have anything metal sitting directly on the wet liner then you'll will pickup some rust on it. Just put your tools and tie downs in a box like I do.

    Any experience with pet hair on the bedrug. Looking to get this for the interior of my jeep and looking for something that would be easy to clean.

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  3 года назад

      I don't personally have any. I can tell you that the carpet fibers are very very short and can't "hold" much excess material. That being said it holds some material like straw and grass (things I'm familiar with) much better than a hard liner does. So extra cleanup is required but it's not bad at all.

    • @stacyadiaz

      Pet hair is a pain in the ass. I found a trick that works well with pet hair on car carpet and seating, thought. Get a pair of dish washing gloves at WalMart (the ones with the little bumps on the palm), put it on, dip the glove in water them use your hand to brush the air up in a pile.

      It will, I find it hard to believe anybody does much more to their liner than me. Spilled gas in it this week. I let it air out and then threw down some ash from my fireplace when I was vacuuming it out this past weekend. It's back to smelling great!

    How about if you fill your bed with a yard of dirt or mulch?

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  3 года назад +2

      Good question. Been there, done that. I am going to offer some advice on loading dirt/stone or any other material you want to remove with a shovel. One thing that I just don't like doing is throwing a shovel into the liner. It is possible to cut it with enough force but more importantly it's just a pain because it stops the shovel pretty instantly when you make contact with the bedrug if your at too sharp an angle with the blade. For this reason I like to throw a sheet of plywood down first when I know Ill be using a shovel in the bed. (Hint: if you put a few holes in the end you can tie a rope through it off to a tree and pull the whole load out onto the ground. This also keeps the mud/dirt out of the liner which I will tackle next.
      It's pretty darn easy how even the mud/dirt comes out of the Bedrug. It surprises me every time. After getting the big debris out with your shovel. I use a landscape rake to get the smaller remnants out. If it's wet, wait for it to dry and hit it with the landscape rake again to loosen the dirt (the fibers are very short and it doesn't hold much dirt anyways) then blow it out with a leaf blower. You can finish it off with the vacuum for that showroom finish (I use my old one from college and it works great). Alternatively you can hit it with the pressure washer or wait for a big rain. I don't like doing this as it takes too long for me. I've done it a few times but it's way easier and less messy to do it dry. All in all you will be surprised at how little dirt it holds in the fibers.

    Thanks for the review of this product. The truck I bought had this liner installed in it. I’ll keep it vs getting Line-X. I noticed you had light strips installed in your bed. You got details on those?

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  3 года назад +2

      I did those myself, led light strip from Amazon and aluminum channel with diffuser designed to hold them. Mounted them and ran a magnetic contact to the tailgate so when I open it the lights come on. I really like having the lights. I'm in the truck bed all the time and sometimes with the lid closed. I can see so much better with these. Really really productive upgrade. They will go in all my trucks now.

    What about dog hair? Does it get into the weave like it does on standard carpet? I have a Line-X bed liner and was considering getting it to replace the carpet. Pretty expensive to do that. Maybe this would be the better solution?

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  3 года назад +1

      I can't speak to the dog hair however the carpet fibers are very tight and very short. You would be able to blow a lot of it out but I would think still it would hold a lot of hair.

    How’s the bed any rust or mildew?

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  2 года назад +2

      No mildew. If it's been really wet occasionally I will ride with my bed over open so it can see the sun. I've never seen rust but I've always put my bedrug in before I put the bed to use so the paint is still in great shape without any scratches. Also my current truck is a Ford which has an aluminum bed so rust isn't a concern.

    What about when it rains? How does the water drain out? Ty

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  3 года назад

      It's not like a sponge. The foam is closed not allowing water to soak in. However the short carpet fibers hold water a bit. If the sun is out and the bed is exposed it dries quickly. If you have a cover on it and it's wet inside you will want to open the lid to let that evaporation occur because the water doesn't just run out the tailgate when you hit the accelerator. It doesn't shed water as quickly as a spray in or raw bed. It's certainly more than acceptable here in Texas. Maybe in a very wet environment it could become a problem? I would think in a very wet environment you would have some type of lid on though.

    My bed rug arrives on Monday for my new Ram Power Wagon. Very excited to get it in there. Do you use a Tunneau cover or is the bed rug out in the sun a lot? I don’t have a cover for the bed. Want to know how it does in the sun.

    • @EdwinBonneau
      @EdwinBonneau  2 года назад +1

      I've always used a cover because I keep tools in my truck 24/7 and need the security. I think it will do fine though. Others have commented that they have had issues with theirs coming loose on the tailgate but I've never had that problem. I've installed all of mine myself as well. Just make sure they prep the surfaces they are attaching the rug to so that it attaches like it's supposed to. Also I like to attach the mounting points on top of the rub. What I mean is that I removed all my d-rings and mounting plates, then installed my rug and screwed everything back in. This "pins" the rug to the bed, no way it's coming out when you're driving down the highway with an empty bed .
