We especially need to listen to our US farmer elders, who are key world leaders at understanding the policy causes of the problems we face in agriculture today, including both the Farm Bill, (including it's international impacts,) and Trade Agreements. Many new things are being done, by new people, but we've forgotten our history. There is much work being done today to build alternative systems, (but still a long ways to go for the major farming regions,) but we especially need people to understand how to reform the dominant system, (which is also so important to the alternative systems).
Yes, they exist because of the agribusiness power complex and it's influence farming systems, on policy, and on what we know about policy. This video didn't get into that, but I hope it's covered in the series.
