Mate! Another quality job from you on my workhorse. Pops and bangs are very minimal now 😃 and no drone on motorways etc. Turbos boosting lovely and zero smoke bellowing out the back! Drove away smiling again! See you next time for cat, intercooler and suspension! I’ll keep you busy mate, hahaha. Much love bro!
Hey Kyle glad your happy mate I really am, cor it made me jump when it first popped 😂. Always a pleasure (except turbo) to work on your van 👍 I’ll see you Wednesday and we’ll plan your next trip down.
Hey warren no problem at all you take the time to comment so the least I can do is take the time to reply. A lot of people ask about the T5 so hopefully they can see the delay.
Hey Phillip thank you sir, no definitely not for me it shook me to bits and I only drove it for 10 minutes 😂. I really appreciate the kind words mate it definitely keeps me enthusiastic about making the videos 🙏
@@YTDTETVHey guys! Haven't finished watching the video, but air ride can be super comfortable. I'm from South America and here it's super popular, being Brazil the #1 manufacturer, and with custom shocks you can archive really comfy riding while super low.
Another brilliant video nathan like it how you say you don't no alot about them engine's and don't hind the fact. Fair play to you. You am a master at what you know.
Hey mick thank you sir 🤙 yep gota be honest I can’t tell you guys something I don’t know about. It’s all mechanics but most jobs have a little technique that helps and I don’t know any tips on this turbo so I was effing and jeffing loads but got it done 🤙
Awesome video mate. Finally got the CHRA for the turbo on my Caddy. Turbo is a job I don’t want to do again in a hurry. Doing it on axle stands is a bloody nightmare. Van is running sweet now it’s had its new camshaft, lifter, turbo and timing belt and water pump. It’s got me puzzled now as the ECU is now doing larger injector deviation corrections now that it’s had the new camshaft 😂
Hey Bud cor well done doing it on axle stands 👍 is your a diesel? What engine? If so then you need to fine tune the pulley on the end of the cam it’s called the torsion value.
@@YTDTETV yeah diesel Nathan, it’s a BLS. The torsion value is sat at -2 when warm. Can the injector lash also contribute to it as well? Was thinking about rechecking the lash now that I’ve put some miles on it.
@@Mac_F87 sorry for delay, yes I normally re check valve lash a little while after driving, I’m sure you know but nip them all the way up then back off 180 degrees “I think”
@@YTDTETV no dramas buddy understand you are a busy man. Yeh nipped them up and backed off 180 mate. Re did it the other day to double check and I’ve got much the same deviation numbers. I did a compression test and got 440-450 psi across all the cylinders. I’m going to pull the injectors today and swap 4 with 3 and see if the deviation follows. If it does I guess it’s time for a new injector. I’ll change the seals on the rest of the injectors while I’m in there.
@@YTDTETV pulled the injectors today and did all the seals. Put it all back together and primed the fuel system. Started the van up and got it up to temperature. Cylinders 1-3 are around -0.05 mg/stroke now and 4 is 0.35. Decent improvement as it was 1.55 mg/stroke before. Still not perfect but it will do me. I’ll try a few doses of injector cleaner see it that helps.
Turbo out the top takes 40 minutes on FWD cars when you're aquatinted, much easier to replace cores on th bench. Don't need to remove driveshaft or anything underneath just oil/coolant pipes and turbo support bracket
Hey bud sorry for delay 👍 your spot on if you know a vehicle it’s definitely alit quicker than the first time. Yes changing a core while it’s on the vehicle is definitely not the best way.
You seem a very knowledge man.. in your opinion would you remove a dpf on a mk4 2.0tdi caddy.. if so is it worth it? Basically is there any gains to be had? I'm thinking about doing a dpf delete and full induction kit 🤔
Hey bud yep I’d get that deleted straight away, they cause back pressure on the engine which shortens the life of the injectors and creates a lot more heat in the engines back, once done you’ll notice better fuel economy and how much happier and smoother your engine will run 👍
@@YTDTETV wow really.. thanks for the advice 👍👍 wish I love closer lol you seem a very handy person to know lol I am hoping to go to that caddy meet you attend.. I checked on Google maps think it was about 3 hours drive 😪 if I remove the dpf but keep the cat do you think MOT will still pass? @@youtubed9695 hey bud no problem at all 👍 the blue water meet is an hour and abit away from me but it’s so worth the drive. what`s going on with the headlight bulbs ?

Would it pass mot without the cat?
Hey B-RY it wouldn’t, I mentioned that and he’s ordered a sports cat for me to weld in.
