Texas toast is just a huge and thick slice of bread that’s toasted, most of the time toasted in a flat top grill. It’s so good with the chicken fingers and white peppered gravy, it’s my favorite comfort food but a close second is doing a fish fry with catfish, bass and frog legs, such a good summer time meal.
Potbelly Sandwich shops are American. Originated in Chicago in 1977. There are approximately 427 shops across the US. We have them here in Maryland, Virginia,Washington, D.C. Midwest, Texas, Arizona, Arkansas, etc..
That’s why Chik-fil-a is one of the few fast food chains I’ll go to. Most places will screw up your order, have poor preparation quality, or have lines wrapped around the building. Chik-fil-a will have a line wrapped around the building because it’s so popular, but you’re still in and out quickly. And they always get the order right.
As others have said, Chick-fil-A standards are very high. From customer service politeness, employee dress codes, wait times, and food ingredient and presentation quality standards, Chick-fil-A is easily much higher than the majority of other fast food restaurants.
I feel like I might be in the minority because I don't think there's anything about Chick-fil-A besides the absolutely Great customer service. I have not since my childhood in the early 80s Noor until this day liked white meat or breast of chicken. I'm sorry I just don't. It is tasteless to me. I prefer thighs and drumsticks. And wings the flavor bone-in. Not strips of Breast meat.
I know this is an unpopular opinion but I hate Chick-fil-A. So many people said it was so good and when I tried it I was like, I mean it's okay but it's not amazing like everyone told me it was. Add to that their heavily conservative nature and homophobia and I'm out.

You guys need to come to America and go to Portillos for real. Them chicago style hotdogs n beef sandwiches hit different with a beer they serve at the restaurant!
The thing about In-n-Out is that they pay starting out $18 an hour. Way above most fast food places. The prices are low, but they make up for it in volume. They sell a lot of food each day. The surrounding locations have lines out the door most days.

Texas toast is a large grilled, buttered bread. It is used for certain types of sandwiches. Some Texas toast is similar to garlic bread, and has 5 cheese blend on top of it.
Portillo's is AMAZING! I personally don't get the "Chicago Style" hot dog because it's just too much but if you get a plain one with the poppy seed bun it's delicious. Honestly for me though, it's all about the Italian beef sandwich. It has thinly sliced beef that has been marinated in herbs and spices. You can get it with peppers (my personal favorite) with a side of the au's jus, cheese sauce and/or you can get the entire sandwich dipped into the au's jus sauce! Edit: I've also only seen PotBelly's in the Chicago area, we don't have them near St. Louis but I do love their shakes with the little cookies on the straw.
Their hotdogs were better in 80’s, the casing are tougher now, try their jumbo dog the casing is not as tough and it’s delicious, and yeah the beef’s are the star of Portillo’s.
PotBelly was a competitor franchise to Subways … they offered Toasted Subs (Subways did not). Company had financial issues (like Subway) … expanded too fast, closed some stores.
I’ve watched the Office Blokes a few years, and lately find myself watching your family channel even more. Daz you said when you think of Indiana, you think of Gary! I live Indiana but have also lived and gone to school in the UK, and lived and worked in Sydney and Hong Kong.
Wisconsinite here and I love Culver's. Their butterburgers are so good and they have a flavor of the day for their frozen custard everyday. Also they have mini pretzels (during the winter at least) that you can get with cheddar cheese dip. You can also buy the cheese as a side to go with fries. I've done that several times. Plus they have variety since they also have chicken tenders, fish and chips, and fish sandwiches. Edit: Forgot to say I usually go to Subway at least once a month and I always order their sandwiches with cucumber. I usually order either the roast beef or the steak and cheese with lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, green peppers, jalapenos, pepperjack cheese, and ranch for the dip.
I have seen a local Culver's here in Ohio and I've been really meaning to try it. I've heard only good things. I love a good burger and frozen Custard.
Have you ever been to Subway? I have my sub sandwich with cucumbers, black olives, red onions and green lettuce with chicken sweet onion sauce on whole grain bread. That's what I like to eat. You can get cucumbers on your sub sandwich if ask for it.
As someone who has worked at chick fil a I can vouch that most locations do take the time to ensure that the food is put together properly. I would say that it's probably one of the only larger chains (2,000+ stores) that does take pride in the quality and presentation of the food.
We do put cucumbers on our hoagies! It's rare, but there are people who do put cucumbers on their hoagies. (If you're not familiar with the word "hoagie", it's a regionalized word for "subs". Same idea as "grinder" in the New England region of the US, in terms of wording for the same word. "Hoagie" is usually found in my home state of Pennsylvania, and rarely used in surrounding states)
Hoagie is a word that hails from Philadelphia and is used in New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, California, and now any state with a Wawa, like Virginia and Florida. It's much more common than you think.
Texas toast is a larger and thicker version of the Toast bread itself and usually is topped with butter, and/or oils and other flavorings such as garlic, cheese etc. and can be served with almost any kind of meal. From breakfast to brunch to lunch to dinner/supper or evening snack time.
I was surprised at how many of these names I had heard of. Also cucumbers is an option, usually with a vinaigrette or a light dressing. They just aren't as big of sellers in most places so I'm not surprised you wouldn't see videos of them. I personally love the crunch.
Not one of the largest chain restaurants, but my favorite is "Backyard Burgers"!!! What I recall was, the leaner than normal ground beef used, along with a plethora of cheeses to have on your perfect "Burger"! Choose either a 1/4 , 1/2 OR A FULL POUND (pre-cooked weight) patty, along with most extras one could want! Sautéed mushrooms, sprouts, Monterey Jack & Provolone cheeses, & aside of Ranch Dressing, was what I always had! A small order of fries was often more than I could eat, with their beautifully Big Bohemith Burgers & a medium refillable soft drink!!!❤❤❤
The bread with the syrup on it near the end had to be french toast. We do it a couple of ways here, it's sometimes made with regular white bread and fairly thin, instead of the thicker french toast you may be accustomed to. Texas toast is thicker and savory, not sweet. It's just thick bread toasted on a grill and probably treated with some butter first.
Lived in Cali and Colorado and In N Out and Chipotle are def my fav two chain restaurants. Never not enjoyed my In N Out. Quick, cheap, quality ingredients, good flavor, and good shakes. Nothing better for a quick stop in california. Chipotle is gringo Mexican but their meats are marinaded well, the salsas are good and that salad dressing they have is amazing when added into a burrito bowl or even on a burrito. Can’t go wrong with either one!
Years ago Dunkin Donuts was a full service breakfast/lunch restaurant. Best soups. Texas toast is thick sliced white bread topped usually as garlic bread or cheese toast. Jersey Mikes subs has special order Six foot sub, you can add cucumbers. Red wine vinegar, olive oil and oregano goes on Italian subs. Subway here has cucumbers that can be added. Bojangles best are BoRounds. Bite size hash browns. French toast is battered with egg and cinnamon topped with maple syrup. Cheers.
Chick-Fil-A has the greatest service of any fast food restaurant in the history of civilization. It has to be experienced to be believed. Many fast food places might only have 3 to 5 people working. Chick-Fil-A has like 30 people working a shift so that it's extremely quick, efficient, and top quality. Even when they're absolutely slammed with customers, they are so efficient in how they do everything. And there are less mistakes than other places and the food isn't just slapped together. There really pride from the workers there. As you can tell, I'm so thoroughly impressed with their operation. It's the anti-Popeyes.

In regards to cucumber as a topping - we do have it in the US. Whenever you order all the toppings are specific for each order. All you need to do is ask for it.
"Wawa" is an onomatopoeia word from native american indians for goose. "The chain's name comes from the site of the company's first milk plant and corporate headquarters in the Wawa, Pennsylvania area. The name of the town Wawa is in turn derived from the Ojibwe word wewe (pronounced "way-way") meaning snow goose, despite the company's image of a Canada goose. (Longfellow uses the word in Book II ("The Four Winds") of The Song of Hiawatha, writing "He it was who [...] sent the wild-goose, Wawa, northward") Although the writing is not specific on species, an image of a Canada goose in flight serves as the Wawa corporate logo."
Chick-fil-A employee here, we actually do take pride in the attention to detail and quality when it comes to the food. When it's not up to snuff, we make it right.
Burgerville are very expensive for what they are. I don’t remember what state Five Guys originated in, but I can’t believe they didn’t make this list. They remained local for the bulk of their existence before RAPIDLY expanding across the US. As a SoCal native with ready access to In-N-Out, Five Guys knocks them, Whataburger, Sonic, Burgerville, and any major chain’s burgers out of the water. The best burger I’ve ever had came from a regional taco chain in SoCal called Taco Tia!
15:07 my dad is from ohio and we used to go there every christmas and our #1 place to go was skyline chili- my dad loves it so much that when he found out they sell it in cans and frozen all the way down here in Florida he was ecstatic. It's very rare there's not at least 3-4 boxes of it in our freezer at all times 😂
I was happy they had Skyline Chili for Ohio. As a life long Ohioan, skyline is one my all-time favorite fast food places. Just make sure you eat it the correct way. You can't mix or twirl it like normal spaghetti. You have to eat it like a pie.
Subway in the US does have cucumbers as an option but very few people order them compared to pickles. All that Mexican food you are talking about is basically street food. But Mexican cuisine is so much more and there are regional foods all over Mexico. Nobody mentioned mole even which is really, really good. But along Mexico's west coast you find a great variety of seafood which you wouldn't find in the usual "Mexican" restaurant outside Mexico. The marinated pork Gaynor mentioned is called "Al Pastor" and is used as the principle meat in all the various street food dishes like tacos and burritos. It's actually my favorite version of those.
Bojangles is definitely a popular FF place in North Carolina, however they can not hold a candle to Krispy Kreme when the Hot Now sign is on. Krispy Kreme was founded in Winston Salem NC..
You have to ask for a certain item to be put on your sub, they won't put it on your sub automatically. If there's a condiment available that you want, you just ask for it and they will put it on your sandwich.😊
Port o Subs is a great option to have here in Vegas, compared to Jersey Mike's, Capriotti's, Jason's Deli, or Jimmy John's. And yes, Aidan - people DO get the 2 ft./24 inch sub just for themselves.
texas is known for big things they even have the saying "go big or go home" so what do they do with their regular bread before toasting it... they cut the loaf really thick and big so you have nice thick slices and then you toast it like normal well, of course, it became popular so we all called it the texas toast lol and now you can buy a loaf in the store called texas toast which is just thick cut bread and then you can go home and toast it like normal
You could do an entire video just on Wawa, my mother was Manager of Wawa Store#8 , now there are thousands of Wawa all the way down to the state of Florida , but in Pennsylvania there are no stores in the center of the state.
I love tht these guy's from New Jersey. RUclipsrs mostly is never from NJ. They are from NewYork, LA, Miami, Texas ext but never NJ. And when Brits from RUclips visit it's never NJ. You guy's are one of my favorite RUclipsrs. And by you being from NJ makes you my top fav
Utah's best burger places are Greek owned, which Crown Burger is, as well as Astro Burger and Apollo Burger. They're all fairly similar and much better than the big chains imo.
I can only speak on my state NC but cook out is my favorite fast food (dads worked with the cookout owner quite a few times, he keeps the prices as low as possible so that anybody can afford to eat there, knows he COULD raise the prices but doesn’t) delicious food, open almost all night long, cook out sauce, diverse menu etc. then you got bojangles, biscuitville, Wendy’s, zaxbys, Taco Bell, jersey mikes, Popeyes, etc. You can go to cook out & order whatever you want BUT if you don’t get a good order your selling the experience short. One of my many cook out orders depending on what I’m craving - cheddar style burger (add bacon) tray with a chicken quesadilla with one of these sides, whatever you are craving, (cheese bites, onion rings, ranch/ Cajun / honey mustard chicken wrap, melted cheese Fries, hushpuppies, chicken nuggets, bacon wrap or corndog & you HAVE to dip that any & all of those sides in cookout sauce
So, in this video, it's said that Red Lion is the most popular joint in Missouri, though it's mostly unknown outside of St. Louis. I mean, they didn't show here in Kansas City until just a couple of years ago. Not sure what the most popular place on the West side of the state is, but it isn't Red Lion.
Dunkin Donuts, now known as just Dunkin, used to have and probably still does in some states, have soups, sandwiches along w/the breakfast sandwiches, bagels and of course donuts!! Texas toast is a thicker bread, it's toasted and not sweet at Zaxby's. Although, you can use the Texas toast for french toast. We have Potbelly here in Nevada.
There is a Hockey stadium in Providence Rhode Island called Dunkin Arena and in Hartford Connecticut the baseball team plays at Dunkin Ballpark. Dunkin’ Donuts has now done away with the donuts and is now called Dunkin.
As a Massachusetter myself, while it’s not my favorite, Dunkin Donuts is very popular up here and has been for years. Chick Fil-A is by far my favorite one. For fast food burgers, Five Guys or MOOYAH’s!
OMG Zaxby's Texas Toast is to die for. It usually comes as a side, but then I order another side of it just to have more. Mmmmm!! It reminds me of a grilled cheese (cheese toastie) but without the cheese. They must be putting MSG on it bc it is so good.
Aidan if you like lots of sauces with your chicken then you would love buffalo wild wings, their boneless wings are amazing and they have a ton of sauces that are all so good
Damn, I haven't been to a Pollo Tropical in 20 years and I've lived in Florida for 40. Didn't even know they were still a thing. Closest one to me is a 45 minute drive. The local ones shut down ages ago and 14 more in Georgia and Florida are on their way out. Florida needs an update in that video.
I was going to tell you, that Texas toast was a large slice of white bread toasted. But I won't tell you that, since a lot of other people already did.
Portillos, which is in the Chicago area mainly is known for its Italian beefs not necessarily a Chicago style hotdogs. I don’t know why they didn’t put the Italian beef on their.
idk if they have them in any other state, but in texas hands down my favorite fast food burrito place is freebirds, almost like a subway version for burritos and they can be BIG, my 6ft 5in 320 lb brother that use to be a lineman in football (real big guy) can only eat half of ther monster size burritos. there are dozens and dozens of choices and combinations to put in, even the type of tortilla
Perfect explanation although toasting on a hot grill is the best!!!🍞
And slathered in gluttonous amounts of butter (the best part)
Simply put, everything is bigger in Texas...
Often with garlic seasoning in the butter.
It's best if the Texas toast is all soft. Great for people who have permanent retainers after getting braces or people who currently have braces.

I’d love to see you all react to the taster platter you mentioned during the segment you were talking about corndogs.
We have fast food, fast casual and restaurants. Fast food - McDonald's, Fast Casual - Panera Bread, Restaurant - like Chili's
Chik fil a breakfast is ELITE😮💨 chefs kiss
Pollo tropical & Miami Grill are Florida's top homegrown fast food chain especially in South Florida
I love traveling and getting to eat at local places.
I was happy they had Skyline Chili for Ohio. As a life long Ohioan, skyline is one my all-time favorite fast food places. Just make sure you eat it the correct way. You can't mix or twirl it like normal spaghetti. You have to eat it like a pie.
The best way to describe A corn dog reminds me a Hot dog wrapped in corn bread.
I also cannot stand to be in the same room with mustard, but honey mustard is spot on.
Texas toast is magic it’s amazing I can’t explain it. And at Zaxbys it’s like buttery garlic toast it’s the best Zaxbys.
You all are hilarious! 😂
Hearing Aidan say quesadilla! 😂
I can only imagine how the British must react to Americans! 🤣
Shake shack , 5 guys and a place in massapequa ny called The all american
Port o Subs is a great option to have here in Vegas, compared to Jersey Mike's, Capriotti's, Jason's Deli, or Jimmy John's. And yes, Aidan - people DO get the 2 ft./24 inch sub just for themselves.
Dunkin serves sandwiches, wraps , breakfast sandwiches
There's a SLIM CHICKENS in London Leicester Square. Next time you're in London, give it a go. it's AMAZING!
There are Potbelly shops in NYC.
I live in South Burlington and go to Al's often. Even in the Vermont winters the place is always packed. They also serve amazing ice cream.
texas is known for big things they even have the saying "go big or go home" so what do they do with their regular bread before toasting it... they cut the loaf really thick and big so you have nice thick slices and then you toast it like normal well, of course, it became popular so we all called it the texas toast lol and now you can buy a loaf in the store called texas toast which is just thick cut bread and then you can go home and toast it like normal
Yes! I made the observation early on when I asked if Sophie was related to Office Bloke Mike! LOL.
Sonic serves Corn Dogs … as well as a number of Hot Dog varieties.

Carlos O’Kelly’s (founded in Marion, Iowa) combines Mexican & Irish cuisine.
Mexican food is by far my favorite! I don't imagine there being a good authentic Mexican food place in the UK.
We have a very small Mexican restaurant here in Manchester that is like being in their home, family owned and fab food ❤
I'm picturing pork tamales topped with mushy peas
You could do an entire video just on Wawa, my mother was Manager of Wawa Store#8 , now there are thousands of Wawa all the way down to the state of Florida , but in Pennsylvania there are no stores in the center of the state.
Frisco melts from Steak ‘n Shake are top tier too😭💯🫠
If there's one thing Chick-fil-A is known for its the best service of any fast food place period in the US I think
Texas toast is just thick cut toast, lightly buttered, and toasted.
As someone from Virginia, most of us have never heard of Biscuitville. Not sure what part of the state it’s in. Five Guys is our prize and joy.
Slims Chicken you can get the sauce shaking on or as a side…Bussssinn
Cucumbers are put in some sandwiches here subs a big one and in my house growing up a cucumber sandwich was always a big hit
Texas toast is thick-sliced, garlic toast with cheese on top
You guys should travel to Puerto Rico and try the Puerto Rican food all fresh made . love your RUclips channel
I was born and raised in Michigan, and I've never been to a Leo's, and never once heard anyone even bring it up in discussion, let alone praise it.
There is a Hockey stadium in Providence Rhode Island called Dunkin Arena and in Hartford Connecticut the baseball team plays at Dunkin Ballpark. Dunkin’ Donuts has now done away with the donuts and is now called Dunkin.
No thousand island at Runza in Nebraska but they do have the BEST ranch!
I love their buffalo garlic sauce. And normally I'm not a crinkle fry person, but Zaxby's does it right.
ive tried it and wasnt impressed. Our Zaxbys in Louisiana closed after being open for a year. Granted it was next to a Raising Canes.
Aidan if you like lots of sauces with your chicken then you would love buffalo wild wings, their boneless wings are amazing and they have a ton of sauces that are all so good
Speaking as a Texan, I know many girls who swear by that honey butter chicken biscuit from Whataburger.
At least they got Zippys for Hawaii, Zippys is the GOAT in fast food Hawaii. We also have Rainbows Drive in, and Spam, is standard hawaii food.
Pretty sure Pot Belly’s is in several states, but we definitely have them in Baltimore.
I was going to tell you, that Texas toast was a large slice of white bread toasted. But I won't tell you that, since a lot of other people already did.
I live in Massachusetts and Dunkin is super popular. In my town of 12,000 we have 4 dunkins in a 2-3 mile radius.
Aiden would love honey mustard because I can’t stand mustard but I love honey mustard. Doesn’t taste like mustard at all really.
Yeah I don't like Mustard at all and honey mustard with chicken tenders slams
@@chrissears5482 dude it’s really the best with some good tenders 😂
Portillos, which is in the Chicago area mainly is known for its Italian beefs not necessarily a Chicago style hotdogs. I don’t know why they didn’t put the Italian beef on their.
Potbelly is an American higher end sandwich quick service restaurant.
I haven't seen a lot of them, but I have occasionally run into a Potbelly sub shop here in the US. I know there's a few in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
texas toast is garlic and butter on toast cooked on a grill.
idk if they have them in any other state, but in texas hands down my favorite fast food burrito place is freebirds, almost like a subway version for burritos and they can be BIG, my 6ft 5in 320 lb brother that use to be a lineman in football (real big guy) can only eat half of ther monster size burritos. there are dozens and dozens of choices and combinations to put in, even the type of tortilla
