      As much as I really do appreciate a comment like this, the only way I get away from being underrated is if people like you share the content (only if you actually enjoy it) and if you don't feel like doing that I don't blame you either! All the best and thank you again!

    Crazy how the only con of the R series is that they have a more limited color selection given how insanely resonant they are AND are a bit cheaper than the regular models.

    Pretty large scale for drop a! But I love tension too! Now only physics could be altered so I could play super low tunings on short scales without thick ass strings.

    • @passtheapathy
      @passtheapathy 4 года назад

      @@PaulOuzounov It's resonant and very well built. I have a few guitars in the price range of this with some unacceptable flaws from the factory but Aristides is incredibly consistent. One odd thing is how the low E hipshot saddle sticks out so much and digs into your hand because of the angle on the S models. Pretty uncomfortable, to be honest. Otherwise, it's really great!

    Awesome review. Love the look of the guitar. Is the Royal Red raw really as dark in person as it is in the video or a little brighter? If so, it looks really great.

    Hey Paul, hope you‘re doing well these days. Thank you for your informative and well made videos. I really like your playing btw :). I wanted to ask you about your opinion: I‘m currently still in the world of 6 string guitars and want to broaden my horizon with an 7 or 8 string aristides. I actually listen to more 7 string guitar playing but the idea of having even more „range“ with 8 strings is interesting. I wonder if there are any drawbacks when chosing 8 strings with the intension of still also playing and writing 6 and 7 string songs with it. Or do you think a 070s is way more comfortable for this application compared to a 080s? Thanks in advance! Keep up the great work :)

    • @PaulOuzounov
      @PaulOuzounov  4 года назад +1

      I think 8 strings are more cohesive to guitar players than 7 strings. I have for the life of me not been able to bond to a 7 string for years and years whereas the 8 string feels somehow more natural. Perhaps it's because it contains octaves of my low E string on a 6 and for that reason it gets more comfortable for me. I don't feel any drawbacks - only if your pickups are too quiet and you then need to boost gain and add a noise gate etc.. then it's a little more complex but it's super rewarding to play on an 8. Completely awesome beastly feels for riffs and cleans to boot! :)

    • @medf2023
      @medf2023 4 года назад

      @@PaulOuzounov Interesting. Thank you very much for your input. I guess I decided for a 7-string aristides (raw). I'm still unsure about the pickups - maybe you can help having so much insight and experience. I took the following into consideration: M7 Lundgren, Fishman modern, Fishman abasi,...; I find it hard to decide if I can't play them in the respective guitar (material). I'd massively appreciate if you could share with me your thoughts on these and which way you would go. Thanks Paul, keep up the great content!

    • @PaulOuzounov
      @PaulOuzounov  4 года назад

      Very tough question to answer.
      I think that the raw is a kind of guitar you can easily bang around and not feel too horrible about whereas a custom has its own nuance to it. Think of it like this, standard model and hyper custom. The custom being a thing that can look so incredible it's not even funny. The raw being a bit more resonant and 'ding worthy'.
      Whenever I talk to someone in your position I inevitably think of myself: I had to have both, eventually. I started with a custom though. :-) If you have any further questions, shoot me a message on my website if you like!

    advice for tremolo picking?

    • @PaulOuzounov
      @PaulOuzounov  4 года назад +2

      Make accents... every first note of 8, then continue to add speed. Practice your muting and then try to make sure your tension is as little as possible whilst creating a perfect sounding note (apply as much power as is necessary and not more!)
