in today's vlog, i get a little overwhelmed. leading up to a new book release, i think that's when i get the most anxious about everything. all the possibilities can seem so daunting. i was a bit more vulnerable than usual in this vlog, but i hope it can help you stay positive even when things get overwhelming!

i know there are days where it feels like your not good enough even when people are telling you that your awesome and going a great job, but you know what your doing is something that you love. the more you do it, the more confident you'll become.
i feel you and i understand....💖 it'll all be okay. your stories are great for the people they're meant for. they are perfect for those who love that style. let go of other expectations. as long as you're proud of the story you wrote; those who love it will find it and love it too.

You're an inspiration to me, Sarah. I have been following you since 2019 when I first joined the writing community on Twitter. I have seen how much you have grown as a writer and a content creator. I think its important, like you said, to share the good and the bad. Writing a book and publishing is a journey. I really appreciate you sharing both the bad and the good. It helps me to remember that everyone struggles and that's okay. At the end of the day, we get through it. Thank you for being honest and transparent about your whole journey with publishing. When you opened with your bookstack, it made me realize how you have grown in your ability to tell a story. Your latest books are thicker and longer. This can mean that you have more confidence in your storytelling than you did when you first started publishing. You also know that your audience is willing to read longer books from you to spend more time with your characters. I think that is super cool. I haven't been able to read any of your books yet since I don't want to support Amazon through KU, so I'm saving to buy the ones I really want to read. Even that should say how intriguing your books are. I've been following you for most of your journey, and my tbr grows bigger with every release you have.

Being well enough to write again after COVID, and I thank you for being real about ARCs they always terrify me too tbh and I'm 20 books in!

Hilariously, I sent out ARC's for a story that's releasing next week in an anthology and have had the best feedback ever so far, and it was a story I was like 'I'm just going to write this because I want to! No one is going to enjoy this, it's ridiculous.' . You honestly just never know what is going to land sometimes. As you said, some people will love your trope, and some people won't. But you're putting out the best book you could and that's all that matters. Keep on being awesome.

I wish I could give you a hug ❤️ honestly I really appreciate the transparency because I feel on social media people tend to romanticize publishing a book.
Then, when people are publishing their own books, they find themselves comparing their experience to their favorite authors and get discouraged because they think they must be doing something wrong because everyone else on social media makes it look so “easy”.
You’re such an inspiration to me. When you had your books stacked together I just though “wow…I hope I can get there someday”
So thank you for being real, even if it means being vulnerable on the internet. Just know it means more than you know to a lot of people that are struggling and wondering what they might be doing wrong.
Side note: the teapot and broom were too adorable 🥰 never in my life did I ever believe I would think a broom is adorable 😂 also, was that a copy of True Beauty?? I can’t remember if you’ve talked about your thoughts on the WEBTOON version or not (mom brain has ruined my memory 😅)

I had no idea what you were going through at the time! *hugs* I'm so glad you shared your vulnerable side with us and kept the clip. I see now what you're going through and I can definitely relate on the anxiety but also wanted to keep encouraging and supporting you during your writing journey. You're doing amazing! ❤
5:13 - It really depends on the book, but there are sometimes when I do read the last page (or the last chapter). I think I do this to make sure the character(s) get their HEA. Not just for romance, but for overall happiness in the character's life; ensure they made it to the finish line in one piece. ♥
I also struggle when it comes to ARC readers and beta readers. I think that for me... I hire a professional editor expecting the book to be ripped open. I go into beta reading hoping that people enjoy it. That stage is more anxiety inducing to me than actual release day because the book is still pretty unfinished and it's scary to think that there may still be a lot of work to do or that my readers won't like something that I never even dreamed of changing.

I try to not even read the blurb if I know I'm gonna read the book. I can't imagine reading the last page! 🙈
I normally don’t read the last page unless it’s a series where people tend to die. My anxiety cannot take not knowing if one of my faves dies!😂🫶🏼

This just shows us that Imposter Syndrome can hit anyone, even someone who has written so many wonderful books as you have. No one is immune. My dachshund was obsessing over her squeaky ball made me smile. :)

Sarah, I know anxiety doesn’t want to listen often, but I want you to know that when I got your email with the sign up form, I was ecstatic. I even squealed at the prospect of being on your team. You are a genius at what you do, and it’s because of you that I have the courage to basically start my author career from scratch (over 10 years after I started).
