hi, could i please ask a question, because i see a lot of these videos
if people keep criticizing the official games (and rightfully so btw, im not saying they shouldn't), then why do they even care about what's canon, if the entire system that created it only values whoever has more power, and not necessarily whoever is the better artist, writer, game designer, etc?
Releasing it on the same day as Super Mario Bros Wonder is such a SEGA THING TO DO. It’s stupid stupid!!!!

I feel Iizuka's argument on pixel art being too old for appeal to a new or modern audience is such a cop out. It's already a 2D side scrolling game for a franchise that's already 30 years old now, the audience is already set. It's one reason why Mania worked and was so well received.
What this translates to is: "Hiring pixel artists is too expensive, it's much easier (and cheaper) to reuse decade old models"
Mania was well received because it's a good game. If it was a bad game but with good graphics, it would get torn to shreds just as Superstars did.
@@hiccupasterisk which is why I said in part. Obviously it's a stellar game but the hype was there before launch; big part because of the throwback style. Sonic 4 was met with more criticism on reveal because the 3D model. That and green eyes, which undermines my point a little admittedly.

If Classic Sonic dies then they better remaster the Advance and Rush trilogies in widescreen like what happened with the classics
They don’t deserve to rot on 20 yo hardware, and while we’re at it give us an Advance 4
That or just make a 2D Sonic with those modern designs and hell maybe add this as a gateway to add in characters like Trip, Mighty and Ray, Nak, bean and Bark and ofc maybe tails doll
And give those characters modern designs to boot to cus why not like I’m tired of this modern and classic split like sonic is sonic and should always stay like that fr
since you bring up the advance games i just gotta ask why do we even need classic sonic to have 2d games? after all its just a design if mania used the the modern deisgn would anything about that game really change?
they made classic style 2d games with the modern designs before with the advance games, what's stopping them now
@elliotsturtplus3400 same i feel having to have all 2d games take plae in the classic era will just limit what ideas they can do for example having to have all 2d games be in the classic era means we won't get to see characters like shadow, rouge or silver playable in a 2d game,
@Steve-e3v6e that’s exactly the same way that I feel
Making new “Classic” games is only going to be an artificial limitation on the 2d games since they won’t be allowed to pull from anything past Sonic R
That means no Space Colony Arc, no Babylon Garden, no Planet Wisp, no Sol Dimension and no Silver’s future
This also means that Shadow, Rouge, Cream, Silver, Blaze and Gemerl won’t be allowed to show up in a 2d game ever again since Advance, Rush and Rivals were made after Sonic R and had the modern designs
This also means that fan favourite characters like Big, Omega and Sage won’t be able to be in any of the 2d games
If they did it right then “Classic” and “Modern” Sonic would just be considered different artstyles and we’d get stuff like Classic Shadow and Modern Fang but it’s too late for that to happen now
@lemon5000-tj6nv this is why the whole idea of classic and modern was a huge mistake.
I don't really like this game's art style, it gives off a really childish and washed out look.
Too right, with regard to the use of colour and general texturing, Sonic Superstars doesn't feel as 'cool' and 'edgy' as modern Sonic did in the games following Sonic X and Sonic Adventure; the visuals of Sonic Superstars feel tailored towards younger children in a way that comes across much more 'babified' than when I was growing up, as though designed to compete with Cocomelon and Subway Surfers on an iPad, which is far from the core loyal audience.
I hope SEGA will allow the time for visuals in their next 2D side-scroller to really capture and deliver on a stylised artistic vision, in the way Marvel Rivals has captured artistic essence and run with it. Imagine rich, shaded, refined and gritty 3D renditions of the Sonic Advance series of character illustrations.
The modern Sonic era, with particular regard to Sonic X and Sonic Advance, is the pinnacle of epic Sonic character design for me, and I'd love to see SEGA do more in that style.
I say the same about Mario Wonder. I still enjoy the game but it needs a better artstyle.
Trip is so adorable, but unfortunately it's highly unlikely she'll return in another Sonic game
SEGA has banished another character into the shadow realm... What a shame

Bosses truly are terrible in this game. They're either too long with not a lot to do or too easy with exploits or emerald powers. Complete pace breaker for me who enjoys replaying these Classic Sonic campaigns. The final campaign bosses can be tedious, especially Fang's, but I can appreciate them for being a good challenge. The TRUE final boss however is incredibly badly designed. Would've worked if you were told of and had time to get rings from Tails and Knuckles and if it was told to you that Trip and Amy will drop ring monitors if you don't get hit for a while.
The controls are good but I still hate how heavy you feel in the air. Makes it harder to go back to the game.
Sky temple, Goonicity and Sand Sanctuary all look too tan to me, need more color.
Goonicity's backrounds look pretty bad and barren, especially act 2 and act Amy with Amy's act having a bad choice of color.
Sand Sanctuary would be one of the most forgettable zones if it weren't for the snake and the music. It's just sand and unfun blocky terrain. Why not make it a giant sandbox and add seashells, spades and water moats around sandcastles?
Golden Capital's backround without the blur is unacceptable for a full priced game. Even with it on, it's kinda sad that the mountains legit have less detail than the ones back on the genesis.
Frozen Base is one of the most forgettable zones in Classic Sonic for me. I like the act Tail's music but besides from that I don't care at all for the act.
This game is genuinely still unpolished and buggy. I played it a year after release and still saw countless issues. There are some graphical errors or mishaps like how textures very visibly start and end or how the backround pillars in act Knuckles' are just flying in the air. Bat badniks visibly fly in and out of walls in Speed Jungle. Worst for me was that the Modern Amy skin, which costs money, always has a start of walking animation glitch.
I like some zones, but others aren't as cool. Sand Sanctuary is boring to me due to the blocky design. Press Factory act 1 I'll actually defend because I like the timing gimmick, but I hate act 2's excessive crushing that makes you have to tiptoe around or do trial and error. Act 1 of Golden Capital feels barren in the later parts of it and it sucks that part of act 2 is separated via a long turtle platform section. I like Cyber Station's design but I hate the transformations, especially the rocket one in Trip's campaign. Frozen Base is again forgettable but I guess not unfun to play? Egg Fortress I dislike because I don't like cramped zones as much and the zero gravity sections are way too slow. When I replay the game, I play Bridge Island, Speed Jungle, Sky Temple, Pinball Carnival, Goonicity and then just Golden Capital.
One of my favorite Sonic games because I can go back and play some great levels. I do consider this the true Sonic 4, whether or not it's an amazing game or not. I had to both sleep AND suffer when I first played it though so I find it really hard to recommend to people unless they're a really big fan.
I wanted to touch more on the true final boss with the dragon, but never did work it into the final script.
I honestly think it's one of the worst final bosses/Super Sonic bosses in the entire franchise. Collecting rings feel so difficult because I swear it's like the game doesn't regenerate them enough or as fast as it should. The first time I reached the fight, I died multiple times and only won by a miracle after tons of attempts.
But yeah, I agree with a lot that you said including the Cyber Station rocket gimmick in Trip's level, or how utterly forgettable Frozen Base is (which I didn't even bother recording footage for the level lol). I do like Act Tails music at least.
ah yes. the freakiest zone in sonic superstars. "Goonicity" Zone
RUclipsr Channel Pup perfectly describes what makes a good Sonic boss and why Superstars completely fails in every aspect.
@@brandonwilliams6119 You mean Superstars?
Only boss I think is as bad as Superstars' in Mania is Studiopolis' act 1 boss, too long and nothing to really do. I legit have it modded out to improve pacing.
"I do consider this the true Sonic 4"
I will not tolerate this Sonic Mania slander
I am too cynical to accept their convenient excuse that Pixel art makes it look 'old', because the product they delivered whilst 3D and assuredly 'new' in that respect.. also looks very cheap and rushed out.
One of the reasons why pixel art Sonic games are so fondly remembered is because the latter installments of them were at the bleeding edge of their field at the time, and had a depth of colour/shading which made the art in and of itself incredibly appealing to look at. Just look at the metal rendering on the badniks and Eggmans boss fights. There was big contrast between light and dark which created a lot of interest.
Superstars 3D modelling looks cheap, and rushed. Things that are supposed to be threatening are blasted with so much neutral light they look like plastic toys rather than heavy metal robots. The Great Eggrobo, Final Weapon, Death Egg Robot, Big Arms ALL had a lot of pure black in them as well as sharp white specular reflection. It took a lot of effort and TIME to make those visuals compelling.
And then I compare it to the final Eggman bossmech shown above at 10:49 with its kind of blurry textures and nearly completely neutral lighting scheme.
No, SEGA just didn't want to spend the money they needed to make good art this time around, and they got exactly the reaction they paid for.
Idk some of the zones look really good in this game. It definitely could look better but it’s not cheap.
It's definitely just an excuse. A lot of pixel indie games look stunning and modern, and Mania looked amazing too. They just love reusing the Classic Sonic model from Generations
This is how I feel about the recent CG side scrolling games; Sonic 4 was exciting, but the visuals did have a flat and unfinished feel about them which does make them feel cheap in comparison to the highly detailed, captivatingly vibrant, and richly shaded assets featured in the Sonic Advance series.
In the same vein, Sonic Superstars continues to lack the visual depth and detail in its character models and overall art style that conveys high quality as clearly and easily as Sonic Advance 3 and Rush.
1. FU, ya dumb cynic
2. They stopped using pixel art because it’s not as profitable in the AAA as 3D, not because it looks old, dumb@ss. It’s something that’s easy to see by how Superstars outsold Mania by a good amount despite being more expensive
I think Trip might be the first character to be playable in a debut game since Silver in Sonic '06. Sticks wasn't playable in Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, and The Avatar from Forces doesn't count since it's a whole different beast and were planned to only appear in Forces anyway.
Technically that would belong to Sticks. Remember Rise of Lyric wasn’t the first Boom game to release, that was Shattered Crystal

That first vinyl scratch gag really doesn't work when it says average 73, user average 8.4, that's relatively good soundin'. Only one review on screen at the bottom left is less favourable
i started playing through superstars with a couple friends and i honestly love it. maybe my opinion will change the further i get, but as someone who grew up with all the 2d sonic games i think it is a great evolution of that. im also in love with the visuals
You’ll understand better by the end. One of its biggest problems is that it finishes out on its worst stuff.
The stuff at the end isn't bad, but it's rather the unnecessary increase in difficulty and unfortunate design choices that further more unnecessarily multiply the even more difficulty.
I think the true final boss is actually the worst part and beating it is mostly based on RNG, on how generous the CPU wants to be.
I'm very familiar with the 2D Sonic side of things, as I've been playing them since 1992. I still have to admit, I have not been able to beat Superstars true final.
@@rollingstart_90s Even aside from the last boss of the base campaign (which I do think is the worst of what I've played not having done Trip's story and the true final, since I really didn't feel like going through that slog again after I did it), I also feel like the last few areas are weaker, and the last proper level especially is pretty rough even on a technical level. All around it just leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth, which is not what you want out of a $60 game that's meant to get it's value from you wanting to replay it multiple times.
What evolution? It doesn’t even have Air tricking off springs and ramps, let alone boost mode, time travel and the Advance 3 tag team mechanic
Moves like Amy’s hammer attacks and flips, Knuckles’ wall spin dash and Sonic’s super peel-out are gone
There’s no voice clips like in CD or Advance 3
It’s just 3&K again but with optional wisps
@@BoxoSpoons Oh yes! I do agree with what you mentioned. The game starts allright and while a little safe and vanilla, it does the classic 2D Sonic gameplay well and is enjoyable.
The ball gets dropped hard on the latter stage of the game and yes, the level design starts to grow more and more mediocre.
You mentioned the importance of replay value and I think it's pretty non existent here.
While the ability to change between characters mid game seems like a cool idea to a lot of people, it COMPLETELY DESTROYS the replay value.
There is a reason why the previous 16-bit/2D games (S3&K + Mania) are still fun to go back to, even decades later, because each character had their separate story, offering new routes and gameplay variances, that gave the player a significantly different experience, depending on who you choose to play as.
All of this is completely stripped away and no!, I'm not counting Trips campaign. They thought they brought back the Knuckles mode from S3&K, but completely misunderstood the core idea of what made Knuckles' playthrough good in the first place.
So... having one story shared with all characters really killed the potential of what could've been and Trips campaign being basicly just a "lets scatter the levels full of enemies and spikes and call it a day" type of deal, does leave a bitter taste in my mouth. Not because it's all bad, but because it is close to being a decent game, but was messed up with poor design choices and unfinished/ rushed soundtrack.
“What could go wrong?!” *proceeds to show favorable reviews* nothing, Sonic fans just hate Sonic.
Played this game recently with one of my family members, we really liked this game but it's fantastically flawed.
Why only one Character can turn into a Super Form? Why many parts of the game can't be played in Co-op? Why when you get a speed shoes or any power up in general only one member can have it? Why make a co-op game and build mechanics that are not centered around it?
If superstars only had one goal in mind it would have been incredible, but they try to be everything at once which leads to the game becoming kinda shallow in comparison to mario wonder for example.
The 2 player was ass why didn't they make it split screen is beyond me it's impossible to have a 2 player sonic game without split screen
Co-op really doesn't work for Sonic. Adventure 2 Battle's 2 player race was pretty good. I loved choosing Amy and stunning my friend causing him to fall down
Sometimes it feels like companies add in a co-op mode and make it a big part of the marketing just because it is a trend.

This is where modern sonic is superior
I think 70% of the appeal for Sonic games is the music and they really dropped the ball with Superstars, they are dead set obsessed in having Jun Senoue direct and compose for Classic Sonic and he cannot compose Classic Sonic music for shit!
It wasn't always this way, Senoue had composed Classic Sonic music for Sonic 3 and 3D Blast, the problem is that he refuses to let go of the equipment he used for Sonic 4, mainly the KORG Triton, which wouldn't be a problem normally as he's used it in non-Sonic 4 stuff, it's just how he uses it in Classic Sonic stuff which makes it sound bad, he's trying to make the Triton sound like the Genesis's Yamaha YM2612 & Texas Instruments SN76489 and it can't do that, at least not how he's currently doing it.

I see that people mention Super Mario Bros Wonder as the main reason, but Sonic has the advantage of being multiple platforms when Mario doesn't. Sonic Superstars had to go up against not 1, not 2, but all 3 consoles had their own inhouse game launches within the 4th quarter. Nintendo had Super Mario Bros. It’s basically the New Super Mario Bros. of the Sonic games. It’s fine for what it is and it does a lot of things right, but it has big shoes to fill to properly compete with the best of the best. If there was no Mania and Superstars had come first, it would hold a much better reputation. I do think time will be kind to this game, but it’s hard to celebrate a B+ when the last classic style game was an A+.
Not everyone owns a Nintendo Switch. You can't say that Super Mario Bros. Wonder made it fail on PS and Xbox.
Except the game not only did well regardless, but it outsold Mania and managed to get the same audience score as Mania Plus, what are you talking about?
@@GeneralGorillaSonicOCI don't think players on those two systems would give af to a 2d platformer that charged as much as a triple a

Trip and Feels need to return in Future Sonic media.
Just implement the classic characters to the modern universe. If Archie could do it, then Sega could too. I get that Archie Comics wasn't officially a part of Sega. It's better fan service than keeping Mighty, Ray, Heavy & Bomb, Trip, Tails Doll, Metal Knuckles, Fang, Bean and Bark confined to the classic universe.
I would love for Sega to return to the Sonic Advance and Rush series art style, Advance 3 with its slick, vibrant, and modern visual style was one of the most appealing depictions of Sonic and crew I have ever played, and it'll always hold a special place in my heart.
It's undeniable that the Sega Genesis style that Sonic Mania is based on looks dated today, however; the Advance series, with character designs based on the style of the Sonic X anime, still holds up well as a modern 2D side scroller. I hope we get back to it one day, as stylized 2D Sprite work holds a timeless quality that 3DCG doesn't completely capture, as has been presented so far.
You just keep getting better with each upload. I really wanted to like this game and on some levels I do, but as a fan of 2D over 3D Sonic it just missed the mark on so many levels. Great vid capturing just what it tried but failed to do.
Yeah, I get what you mean. I really think it's a shame because we had Naoto Oshima on board and it still ended up having some serious issues and not reaching the heights it could and should have reached.

Superstars feels like the hubris of Sega relying so hard on the Classic side of Sonic. Being followed up by a damn near Sonic renaissance fueled by giving focus to the woefully ignored Dreamcast era is just the cherry on top.

Sega should return to how they innovated the 2d momentum formula with the Advance games. As someone who grew up with the Advance games it's so sad seeing Amy be simplified to match the others movesets. They also gave Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles new moves that made them feel fresh and fun to play. They "try" to innovate with the chaos abilities but it just falls so flat for most people.

@ It just doesn’t feel right in a 2D space and I’m glad they chose to ditch it
Fantastic video. I really wonder how this game is received from the start if it was just $20-30 to begin with. I really feel like the initial asking price of a game has an underdiscussed impact on a game’s reputation. Because as you highlight, this game really does have a lot going for it.
With an initial asking price of $60, you expect it to be a large, full blown successor to the $20 Sonic Mania. But the game is too short, isn’t as high quality, not as polished and definitely nowhere near the same value as the similarly priced Mario Wonder, but for $20-30? I think it’d be seen and more appreciated for what it is, a charming little new 2D sonic journey with new playable characters like Amy for the first time, with shiny new 3D graphics. Not perfect but for the price you paid, perfectly acceptable. I think it’s why with time as more people buy it on a steep sale, you see more and more people asking “wait, why was this game so hated?”
It sucks that SEGA felt the game was a disappointment, as 2D Sonic really is great with its own unique charm separate from the 3D games, who knows where this leaves it now. :(
The game actually did well despite all that and even managed to outsell Mania
It's been only a little over a year since this game released, and I already forgot it ever existed. Unfortunately, this felt more like Sonic 4 Ep. III than Mania 2.
5:45 Neo Green Hill, another desert, another snow level, another factory, another carnival level, another watet ruins level = very original. It's an equivalent of "I painted Sonic purple and called him Equil" very original
if you say it like that, it will make all the sonic zones unoriginal.
I might be stupid or something but I thought they were pretty different from what we’ve seen before. Lagoon City is outdoors unlike the other ones that we’ve seen before, which makes a pretty big aesthetic difference.
Bridge Island doesn’t really feel like Green Hill either.
Press Factory was easily the most creative zone in this game. Name a classic Sonic zone that looks like a factory, I’ll wait. I’d say it looks more like Launch Base than whatever you’re thinking of, and even then the similarity only lies in the fact that both are “under construction”.
The snow level reminded me more of Frozen Factory from Sonic Lost World, but if it was actually good.
And Pinball Carnival, while pretty similar to Carnival Night, felt like a nice evolution of the carnival theme. I actually enjoy it aesthetically way more than the original Carnival Night, I felt like this is where the Superstars graphics really shined.
It’s funny that you left out the most original zones, because that would destroy your argument.
Tbh most classic sonic games do this same thing
Emerald hill n angel island are both just green hill zone with a different coat lol
@HungryWarden exactly. i was too lazy to make the longer reply so im glad that you did.
All my interest in this game vanished when I heard that it was doing the same awful "hurry up and wait for an opening to attack" style bosses as Sonic 4 Episode 2. Just, nope. Not interested in that at all. I don't care if I can beat some of the Genesis bosses in 20 seconds before they can even attack. That is still way more fun than "be forced to dodge for a while until finally you can get a hit in, repeat several times bored out of your mind".
I don't buy their reasoning for dropping pixel art. It's expensive and time consuming to do detailed pixelart animation vs low detail 3D slop. It played "okish" but personally find this game really unappealing visually, but I'm sure Sonic 4 stans love it. The game probably cost half as much to produce, while they sold it for twice as much.

Altough I abslutely love pixel art Sonic games. And I want a sequel to Sonic Mania. Knowing that they don't want pixel art, and Classic Sonic in 3D didn't work in Sonic 4 nor in Sonic Superstars... Why don't they just go for hand draw graphics like the actual scenes from the game? Supergiant Games have gorgeous graphics in Hades (the most famous one of their games) and everybody loves that art syle... I just feel like Sonic team doesn't really know what to do with Sonic since the begining of times. American developers always handled Sonic better. Sonic Team NEEDS to understand that what makes a game good is good gameplay + good level design.
1. Superstars is canonically a sequel to Mania
2. Clearly it did work/was good considering Superstars outsold Mania and got the same audience as Mania Plus
@gengargamer5657 1- you understood exactly what I meant, you just wanna argue.
2- I don't see people complaining about Mania's gameplay and level design, like people do on Superstars.
And 3- It didn't get the same audience in the slightiest, it got the same number of people, not the same people. I can be nitpicky too.

How well would these games have been recieved? And how'd players everywhere have liked them?

Classic Sonic joined the meme that Sonic is always undercooked with Superstars reaffirming the doubt that Origins gave us. The current era has the weird tendency to go one step forwards and two steps back, breaking what was working before while not really fixing anything long-term. I'm still waiting for them to show their hand for how they can crash the current momentum of Shadow Generations into a wall.
I stopped playing new releases after Final Horizon was an update that somehow made me regret showing support with the Frontiers base game purchase(I now wish I didn't get anything for that birthday) and with the way things are going, it may be quite some time until I see any reason to jump back in.

8:24: A solution to this problem is to add multi screens so that everyone can still play together, but at their own pace. At least, that's what I heard.
The classic-ish reboot "Sonic Superstars" absolutely did nothing for the general audience. If anything, it caused unnecessary damage to the classic era and to those who were once genuine fans, as well as unnecessary divisiveness. Definitely not a true golden era "Sonic" game; it is a low middle tier "Sonic" game in pre-patched form (middle tier "Sonic" game in patched form).
Quality-wise, it is superior to "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" (both episodes), but inferior to the 16-bit "Sonic" games and "Sonic Mania (Plus)". Even "Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit)" and "Sonic the Hedgehog CD" are somehow better than the classic-ish reboot "Sonic Superstars". And those two games - especially the black sheep game "Sonic the Hedgehog CD" in the 2D pre-classic main series (pixel art, home console) - are generally considered to be one of the weakest main "Sonic" games by the classic era fans. So, for "Sonic Superstars" to end up being the absolute weakest main "Sonic" game after the 2D pre-classic main series (pixel art, home console) in the classic era is rather sad. But the game was doomed to be forgettable. After falling short on virtually everything else, it has been relegated to just being a story game, backed up by the prequel stories and IDW comics in the classic main series (story reboot, chronological order). And Sega officially labeling the classic-ish reboot a disappointment is proof of that.
Because the classic-ish reboot tried to do way too much and fell completely flat, it earns its own special solo spot ("Superstars" tier, only for lore). Somewhat fun on its own merits, but no valuable reason to play it over the 16-bit "Sonic" games and "Sonic Mania (Plus)", other than for lore. The only way it will possibly be on the same level as the 16-bit "Sonic" games and "Sonic Mania (Plus)" is if there is a fan mod that overhauls it into something that is much more worthwhile.
The classic era of Sonic himself is now in the same situation as the "Marvel vs. Capcom" series back when "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" was released to generally mixed-to-negative reception from critics and fans in late 2017.
In conclusion, the 2D pre-classic main series (pixel art, home console) is the true golden era of Sonic himself; the classic main series (story reboot, chronological order) is just filler that only appeals to people who care more about lore.
----------
At this point, I only really care about the arcade gameplay in the classic era ("1", "CD", "2", "3 & Knuckles", and "Mania (Plus)" in chronological order; officially confirmed by "Sonic Origins (Plus*)"), as that's at least consistent in the 2D pre-classic main series (pixel art, home console). I'll only really pay attention to fan projects from OG hardcore fans that match the quality of the 16-bit "Sonic" games and "Sonic Mania (Plus)". Outside of that, unless I hear about a "Sonic Superstars" fan mod that overhauls it into something like "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite & Beyond", I'll be totally indifferent towards whatever Sega will do with the "Sonic" IP for the foreseeable future (modern TV shows/series, modern movies, modern spin-offs, modern games, et cetera).
I'll at least admit that Trip is cute.

@@genyakozlov1316 Sonic 4 Episode 3 will not happen. You know that. The first two episodes were critically panned and any plans for a third were scrapped. Maybe you’ll get a spiritual successor, but keep in mind that the one thing Sega learned from the failure of Sonic 4 is that they shouldn’t mix modern and classic. I'm gonna be blunt, the General Level Design sucked, they were a mess, they couldn't decide if they wanted to be Speed, Platforming, Coop, and were an annoying mish mash of the three that just ruined the floor, and the Insta Kills from the Final Two Bosses were the Worst, heck, I died after beating the Final Boss, screen gone to white, but since the Ring Counter reached 0, I died and had to restart, it has a lot of mistakes
and when it comes to Classic Sonic 2D games, leave them to the Fans, SEGA and Sonic Team clearly can't do it without sticking too much to the Past or Safety
which leads to me to my last fact, which also includes Sonic Origins, not only does SEGA and Sonic Team have to compete with other Studios and Indies, they have to compete with the Fans as well, why play Superstars when you can play practically a load of Fan Games that does what it tries to do, but better, and more original
