Hello spiritualentertainer, The Adyashanti video clips on RUclips are posted by members of Open Gate Sangha with Adyashanti's permission. Adyashanti does not manage the web page personally. Because of the amount of email he receives Adya can’t respond to each person individually. However, he does read all email that he is given. Your comment will be placed in his personal mailbox so that he has the opportunity to read it. Kind regards, Friends at Open Gate Sangha
If you want to know how to understand what he's describing through direct experience, simply look at your immediate sensate experience as it happens. See how none of those sensations, none of those thoughts, feelings or perceptions are this apparent 'I' and how each only last an instant before they're replaced by another perfect, self-liberated sensation which will dissolve back into awareness just the same. Recognize the natural state, nothing more is required.
this makes perfect sense (not that that is important!). I would like to see the rest of what Adya says about this fascinating process!!! I REALLY want to REALISE what is being overlooked here! - help! :)
We are both. On non-dual deep end we are one and same unseparated whole. On the other end we are our separate selves interacting with each other, paying damn taxes and so on. Tree has one trunk and many branches. It is not either that OR that. It is this AND that. We are both. Ego and the whole universe.
@Adyashanti I'd really like to hear what Adyashanti has to say about this matter also as I too have children who can be challenging, as many of us do. I can tell you that Stillness would be most welcome in my home!
everybody is enlighten, your true nature, but most human beings are in a wild frantic attempt to unenlighten themselves all the time, without even knowing it.
@Zenstudent105 when you get involved in the ego too much you might want out of it. You might desire peace, and go searching for it. This is the path to "awakening." Awakening is just realizing you're not your ego. You're an observer, aware of the ego playing its games but not identifying with your mind. You're always enlightened, though, always observing. you can't get away from it, but the ego really does *try* to get away. Awareness is its "enemy." Hope this meandering answer helps lol.
@SeracRavel Understanding is a mind thing. Enlightenment can never be understood, it's just awareness. There's nothing *to* understand except what the ego/mind says there is
@spiritualentertainer I have children, and I work with the experience of nonduality in relation to them all the time. My children (aged 2 and 4) are in fact one of the most important and crucial aspects of my practice. When I see one of my children as being separate, I see them as existing in opposition to me, and this is painful. I write about this in my new book, "Living as a River." Ask your local library to get a copy, if you're interested.
Wow. Can Adya cut through the spiritual crap or what? I love this man for kicking the dust off of truths which have become encrusted with words and cliche terms. If it's not direct experience, it's spiritual masturbation. Adya's here to tell us, we'll go blind(er) if we keep doing that :) Ha!
@SeracRavel It's conditioning. There's no conscious thought involved in unenlightening yourself. You're conditioned from a baby to think certain ways and think of yourself as separate, unique and individual, which you are on the other hand. As you get more involved in the ego, which itself can never be at peace, you might feel lacking (and I'm not talking to you directly) As for there being no enlightenment, I dunno. It's a label for being fully aware. It's our natural state, awareness.
@@vinayaadhikary4354 No. But there is duality present. You don't pay my taxes and I do not pay yours. If you do not feel that way feel free to pay mine because I am you. So larger truth is that there are levels to our being. I am both all there is AND my separate entity different from yours.
I must say this is impressive HOWEVER, firstly what is your birth name ? secondly, i would like to invite you to come round to our place where we have 3 very 'active' young children who couldnt give a shit whether you exist or not. they will test you and try and push you to the limits. would you come ?
spiritualentertainer, you ´ve got to move all that resentment and rage... get rid of it.. it doesn´t serve for freedom, does it? grab a pillow and let it go for good..
I dont know if we can call it enlightenment(?) .... there is something which we are completely unaware of. I've read it on the internet.. what we experience as "the physical world outside of us" in fact is not true. The reason we dont see it is because you still trip over a rock in the dark when you cant see it well. But if you were sitting down, that wouldnt happen. You sit down and you are blind and deaf, you cant taste, you cant smell, you have zero input of your surroundings. You sit like that for a while. You cant even feel the chair or your body. Let's now even suppose that there IS world outside of you. Someone approaches and holds your hand that you cant feel. They call your name but you cant hear.. you dont see them too. For all you know, to you, there is nothing there. You are aware of that. Does the world exist to you then? Reality says no. The mind may speculate that there may be, only it's currently impercievable. What do you do? Like in a coma thing. Somehow light appears and begmgin to percieve other dimensions in the mind and meet bodiless entities and they see you. They communicate with you through your newly aquired special senses much like hearing seeing sensing touching used to do for you. You again have a life, a surroundings that you can percieve. HENCE, why is it that we believe that the experience of our senses is an outside experience? All your percieving happens in the brain which itself is in the mind. It's an image in mind. Which can be experienced on many levels. You can feel it, touch it, hold it, taste it... yuck... and what you percieve is experienced in mind. And finally what is there that knows there is mind? What is the only factor neccessary for knowing that something is there? It' s consciousness. Everything which happens in consciousness is experience. There is an experience of colours. Of people. Of pain. Of delight. Of a person. An experience of I am. Of how it is to live a life of an individual. When you meet your mother in law and she pushes your buttons and you feel covert hostile motions toward her - it's an experience. When you then go home with a deflated sense of a spiritual person you are trying to be - it's an experience. When you meet with God after swallowing Ayahuaska - it's an experience. When you do die and find the real God- it's an experience. When you have an overwhealming oneness sensation and you lose sense of any separation - an experience. In reality - oneness is knowing that nothing can exist autonomously appart from that which nature is to know. It is knowing that all experienced participants do not have their individual cinsciousness. It's all an experience of a phenomenon which only can know. How to aoply this in life? For starters stop beating yourself up because everything is an exprrience relatively serious and humorous. One neverending experience. Nothing more.. nowhere to go. Nowhere to get. Nothing to gain. Nothing to lose. Just....that...
@Zenstudent105 Ego mind is all the stuff we think we are. That is the mind thing. If there is no one to understand and no separation whatsoever.... From what source springs the "I thought"? Forget about it! The fucking "I thought" rides on the same bullshit that started the whole thing! The subtle sense of separation that haunts the edges of all perception dude. OK, I'm out.

YES!! Everyone is Enlightened

Thank you....I like the passion at the end

@christinabreault Ramana Maharshi points to this "efforting". It is KEY.

But does that also mean that the best way to not feel seperate is to try really hard being seperate?

It sounds conceptual to me. I can agree what he is saying. But need more understanding.
Ok, if I am not separate, who is paying my taxes?
Paying tax is not separate from the awareness
