    Chennedy is just insane. Many people thought that she was just a random bench player that would stay on the bench. However she had other plans, and it's even crazier how good she is as a starter. 33 points on one of the best defenders and best defending bigs is NASTY work. Now she's literally carrying the sky, should've been an All-Star, will get MIP, and now one of the best PGs in the league. Give her the max right now. Also she has proved that midrange isnt dead and if you're good at it take the shot. We have taken midrange specialists for granted, significantly more impressive than standing around and shooting 3s.

  • @4everfaithfulun2Him

    She plays like an NBA player. No one in the W can guard her. She's the best guard in the league ... no contest. Plays like a female Iverson running down the court. the moment she gets the ball, it's a bucket one way or the other. She is the most all around player ive ever seen in the W. And she's the smallest person on the court. The way she block shots makes absolutely sense. And that fade away mid range shot from any direction and spin are diabolical.
    I would love to play with her and would hate to play against her at the same time if I were her opponent.
    Also, takes an honest man to apologize and admit he was wrong. We Salute you, sir!

    I ordered League Pass this season and the first time I laid eyes on her I was confused. No one in the league can guard her. And I gave her the benefit of the doubt with the past conflicts. Hamby had conflict with the Aces (bet they wish they had McBride instead of Gray right now) and Diggins Smith had conflict with Phoenix (Taurasi should've quit years ago). Two sides to every story. Some teams are poorly managed and/or put politics above winning. "Breakout seasons" are laughable too, maybe some teams screwed up.. Hamby and Alanna Smith? Good gosh, Smith's collegiate numbers were amazing, why did she bounce around the league? And Clark isn't the best player on her team, Mitchell's numbers are better (they both turn the ball over too much; Indiana needs a pg and a center). That team is going to implode if Caitlin continues to get minutes/touches/press she doesn't deserve. We appreciate your work BTW. And I'm an old dog; I attended my first pro women's game 40 years ago 🙂 (the Columbus Minks).

However, didn’t she have serious physical altercations with her teammates both in high school, college and previously in the W which has hampered her career growth and development. Hopefully this is past that stage bc she is hugely talented. I’m banking on that she will take off and mature and become one of the leagues better players on more permanent basis.

    I didn't realize Chennedy was such a great shooter, and finished drives so well. I don't remember that from her previous stint. I haven't seen a jumpshooter as good as Carter since Chelsea, and she might have a bit more reliable shot. Chennedy is able to get around free throw/elbow range with her drive, and jumpshot, and she really uses a lot of arc on her shot. Chelsea is still great and can (and will improve as she gets her groove back from her injury) shoot well, but she seems to need more screens and isn't such a mobile scorer as Chennedy is. Her shot is hard to guard because 1. she's quick to her spots, and 2. she can really leap and her shot has a lot of air under it. If the defense tries to guard against the shot, she can just as soon drive to the basket, and she usually finishes there. From what I've seen of Sky games, her defense is good too.

    Youre right. Thinking that every player is going to fit a certain mold will have you miss out on a player like Chen. She doesn't shoot the 3 that much but she doesn't need to. There's isn't a guard in the league that can stop her ever since she came to the league from before, and now she's back and the new talent STILL can't stop her. So while she isn't giving you 3 point shooting, she STILL spreads the floor bc now the defender needs help on her! And since Chen can pass EXTREMELY WELL, she can find the open teammate and is UNselfish so makes the RIGHT pass hence the low turnovers. So now, when you try to double on her, she can dish to a slashing Barbie, KC, or kick out for the 3 by Money Mabrey or Dana Evans (who's shooting much better since moved to the sg position)

    Truthfully Chenn is the 2G for the Sky and Lindsay Allen runs point most of the time.
    Chenn is a top notch defender, slasher with a great pull-up. Very similar to Allen Iverson in his younger days. Her speed and jumping ability is unmatched. I haven’t seen this elite of an athlete since Riquana Williams. I’d bet Chenn can dunk or get close to it at only 5’8.

    So here we go again, back to basketball skills. She has them, very skilled, very athletic, handles, shooting. Speed, everything. The question is, is she marketable?. She has the game down, now let’s see the OTHER important components to marketability; how does she presents, communication skills, likability, physical attributes, charisma, intelligence, get my drift??. Other than the game, how does she do in all those categories which are critical to marketability. This is being the story of this league, plenty of basketball talent, but lack of personalities and charisma to sell the product. This is exactly what CC brought in, and that’s why she is getting the hate she gets, because they do not have it.

      The fact is she is a one dimensional player very good at that dimension but one dimensional nonetheless. And the truth is most Clark fans actually understand basketball better than most historical WNBA fans because we played basketball for decades watch basketball for decades and we know how the game is supposed to be played not how the WNBA has historically been playing. Clark's game is so advanced compared to this post centric style that looks like 1960s and 70s NBA that they left behind 40 years ago thanks to bird Magic and Jordan.

      @@back2sports why you mad?!?i am old too....but why it matter because like i said the league has evolved into a position less league where the positions and rolls get complicated and you can't always refer to the old school way of describing a player because how versatile the rotations in the wnba are...for instance chenn plays the 2/sg and with scoring duties like A.I. while marbury played the 1 as a dual threat or traditional point guard but marina marbey a taller guard can play 1,2 and 3 (and yes she has played all three) so you literally have a rotation of mabrey, chenn and michaela or a rotation of chenn,mabrey, or michaela, or rotation of allen, chenn and mabrey and they would not use the skillsets of a 1,2 and 3 wherever needed....so like how the wnba chooses it players for wnba they say guards and forwards or smalls and bigs ....it comes up like this because alyssa thomas can run the PG for CT but she is a big/forward so with matchups be careful just because she is short doesn't mean she a pg she just a small that can score or a SG

    • @DJ_Mr_Rodge
      @DJ_Mr_Rodge 2 месяца назад

      AI was a tried out at PG but didn't work and became a SG the league however had a hard time adjusting to such a situation because the point-forward or tall guard was still new to the league...the wnba however has those type of players on the regular nowadays...like CC is a tall guard that why wnba ogs not surprised she can pass but espn and fox 1 sports was surprised with the her passing because they thought because of her height she was a shooting guard but naw she is a tall point guard so she can shoot and pass

    No problem……..sir. Chennedy probably has been doubted all the time, and I’m sure she knows it.
    The thing about her, is she lets her playing do the talking.
    My 4 guards who I daily voted for the All Star game:
    Diggins Smith-Seattle Storm; McBride-Minnesota Lynx;
    Arike-Dallas Wings; and Chennedy Carter-Chicago Sky.
    Of course, only 2 out of the 4 made Team WNBA: McBride & Arike.
    I agree with you, Chennedy Carter should have made the team. Yes, Caitlin Clark turnover rate is astronomical, but of course, it’s her idiot fans who voted her in. Like someone else said, it’s a popular contest.
    Kelsey Mitchell, Indiana Fever-really?
    Not sure if you noticed. Not one Washington Mystic player made either team: Olympic or Team WNBA. They should have picked Ariel Atkins over Kelsey Mitchell, to make it fair. Three Fever players with a record like that: unbelievable.
    Although they did beat the New York Liberty yesterday. Maybe Coach Sides has figured things out.❤

    • @fixer1972
      @fixer1972 3 месяца назад

      I 100% agree Kelsey Mitchell should not have been on the WNBA All-Star team, zero disagreement there. Although Clarks turnovers are the worst aspect of her game, however, I can live with that, considering everything else that she does, which is EVERYTHING ELSE.
      Carter has a serious attitude problem which is probably why she didn't get selected and Clark was not exclusively voted in by her "idiot fans" the media and the coaches also voted her in.
      I don't think Coach Sides has figured out anything, they beat the liberty in spite of Coach Sides. If she has actually figured something out, it is to get the hell out of the way and let them play ball CC style.

      Popularity. Clark had the most voting points. It was clearly obvious her fan base is the reason, who made up 50% of the total. That’s a HUGE proportion.
      Anyway, Collier, Minnesota Lynx is injured indefinitely. Maybe Clark’s “ IDIOT FANS” will finally get their wish.
      I hope for her sake, if she’s on the team, she doesn’t suck!

      Her fan base voted her number one which is 50% of the total tally the other 50 is the media and coaches all of which were gaslighting Clark fans that they weren't going to vote she might not make the All-Star team. If not enough voted for her to be on the team she would not have made the team they could have kept her out.
      Honestly, I don't know if they'll choose her for Collier, even though it's the best business decision for all parties involved, Collier is a power forward. Kaitlyn Clark is a point guard. They've all been about the best players at each position.
      She has had two literally sucky games, truly bad performance and have you seen her last 10 games? Did you watch the fourth quarter today against Washington? If not, she literally took over the game and Drug that team back from a 21 point deficit only to be sabotaged by her incompetent coach in the last minute of the game. So no she's not gonna suck unless the other players play against her and not with her and I for admit when she has a sucky fucking game, no problem in it.

      @@fixer1972 It’s interesting that you say that.
      You know Caitlin Clark fans are the reason she didn’t make the Olympic team, right? The Olympic Committee didn’t want the drama that comes with it.
      Also, I’m pretty sure you heard, her team members were concerned about the same thing. As a result, she wasn’t included.
      Personally, I don’t believe it. The committee tried to blame it on the players, to save face. Speculation of course.
      Also, there is such thing as positive publicity and negative publicity, and the committee said they didn’t care about viewership.
      If Chennedy would have made All Star Team WNBA, it wouldn’t really be an issue. Alyssa Thomas, the Connecticut Sun, clothes lined Angel Reese, yet she is still on the Olympic Team.
      Stop creating narratives. No one knows for sure what happened before Chennedy bumped Caitlin. To my understanding, trash talking was involved.
      Didn’t you see Caitlin push the Washington Mystic player?

      @@feliciamoore9786 we'll never really know why she was left off the Olympic team.
      Don't recall as far as her own team members.
      They don't care about viewership, viewership drives the price of TV contracts, TV, contracts put money in the USA basketball organization. More viewers, more money.. So they must not want to make more money.
      Thomas did indeed clothesline reese, it was a horribly bad foul, and should not have been done, however, it was during a play. Carter's file on Clark was not in the middle of a play. I also have little doubt that trash talk was involved trash talk is talk and nothing more. If Carter felt the need to do that to her for something, she said, then Clark clearly is living rent free in her head. Larry Bird is famous for being the GOAT of trash, talk, nobody ever did something like that to him outside of a play.
      Oh yeah, I definitely saw her twice making egregious shovel off. I mean one of those look like she was doing the Heisman in reverse when she straight stiff that girl I called her out for it. Totally thought they should've called that shit but the rest sucking this league. They miss all kinds of calls on both sides, and make calls on both sides. Kind of is what it is.
      And no, she's definitely not innocent, and I've never tried to indicate that she is, no great player is innocent they play hard, and they get away with what they can get away with, and they get caught when they get caught.
      All that being said, the bottom line is in that Washington game. She did what all great clutch closer players do. She took over the fourth quarter she was everywhere, only to have her incompetent coach shoot her in the foot while she's on fire people can say all they want to about her defense, if she was such a defensive liability, they could not possibly have gotten enough stops to make that come back.

    Clearly, you and I are in complete opposition on what we value, I would take seven assists, and five turnovers over three assist and two turnovers. An assist IS points on the board, a turnover is POSSIBLY points for the other team. Carter is a shoot first point guard. Clark is a pass first floor, General point guard, that in end of itself, makes Clark the better point guard. Next we account for the fact that Clark leads the entire WNBA in points produced (points scored + points from assists). Then we consider the fact that Clark is averaging 15 six and seven player ever in WNBA history to do that, and let's consider that she's a rookie, how many rookies in basketball history have done that in the NBA, only two rookies in NBA history, averaged 15 six and seven that would be Irvin Magic Johnson and Oscar Robertson. Ask yourself this if you're WNBA coach and you have the best guard wouldn't you play more than 20 minutes a game?
    She has already proven this season that she cannot control her temper, It's only a matter of time before Carter goes wonky on her own teammates and gets kicked out again.
