I had a 3Doodler Create a while back and it clogged every single time i used it, and when i did use it it barely worked. I then got a scribbler V3 and it was soooooo much better. It never clogged and it was super user friendly. I haven’t tried all these but from what i’ve seen the Scribbler V3 is one of the best you can get.

If some company could take the speed control of the 7Tech and add it to the small size of the 3Doodler Create, (with the price of the Dewang but using ABS/PLA) they'd have a winner.

Excellent overview. I only own the 3Doodler Start and love it but wish the custom filament you have to use would come in longer lengths. Replacement filament is inexpensive but you can run through 2-3 sticks doing even the most simple design. On the plus side, it comes nicely packaged and with an excellent booklet.
Great channel, great content and I look forward to whatever you post next!

Hello Davin! Video looks great! :) There is no need to be concerned about safety of CreoPop LED lights. Our LED light is in blue spectrum, so it is not harmful for the eyes. We have conducted a Photobiological Safety Test under IEC 62471-2006 Regulations, which proved that our LEDs are totally safe for eyes. Also, it will be more comfortable for your eyes if the room is well-lit and you use black mat surface for creating.

From what I've learned about the Creo Pop, it DOES NOT use UV lights, but rather LED lights, which are safe. I believe the safer LED lights was one of their marketing advantages offered in their advertising of their product (Just like the Polyes Q1 light curing 3D pen - which also looks really safe). From their website about safety: "The LED lights used by the pen are similar to LED flashlights."

Your not really meant to draw in mid air for detailed projects keep that in mind. What youre supposed to do is draw the shapes on a grid then connect them with filler for a proper 3d project. Or if you want it curved then use a 3d stencil like a fruit for curvature

    For the 3doodler users:
Buy a spool of 3mm abs-pla filament get you friends help to hold a long piece of the filament as straight as possible, take a hair dryer and blow on the filament for some seconds, and there you go!!! Cheap filament works for me!!!!!!

    • @make.anything

PLA barely smells, so maybe you got ABS, which is indeed more difficult to stick to surfaces.. It also helps to draw with the pen more vertical, instead of holding it like a regular pen

I think the reason for that really slow speed is for stopping with a clean rod edge, just like welders do (post flow time on tig welders) as at the fast speed you show a stop looking like a star tail, which would not look very nice on an otherwise clean project

It would be nice to have an updated version comparing some of the better ones against the newest ones from the last year

Hi Thanks so much for this detailed review. I was able to decide to get my first 3D pen thanks to you. I just have a question though with fixing a clogged nozzle. The 3D printing pen I have doesn't seem to have removable parts. no screws or anything. Do you have other ideas on how I can fix clogs for this type of pen? Thanks in advance!!!

What about the noise. Which ones are the quietest. That's quite important in my opinion.

Thanks for the comparison video!! I really wanna try out the creopop. I have the 3Doodler create and quite like it, but I need to buy more filament for it. I wish they sold a big multipack for it..

Have you checked out the Renegade yet? Apparently you can reuse your plastic bottles as filament! That's exciting! I'd love for you to review that one!

I know I'm late but, I would like to get into 3d drawing, but I don't want a hugely expensive 3d pen, that I might throw away I got bored with it.
So for starters, I think I would go with the "Start" pen. (fitting name tho).
But great review, and your comparison are really easy to understand with your highlights.

I tinker around with a few things and Im starting to think a 3D pen could be helpful. Im curious if any pens have plastic that can adhere more or less permanently to other objects. In particular, modifying cases to nerf guns and handheld game cases, and maybe on rare occasions LEGO bricks and fixing random plastic toys. Im also interested in making small odds and ends around the house, but nothing involved enough to buy a 3D printer. Is there a good pen and filament combo for these kinds of applications?

This shows the Creopop which has an LED light which many think could harm the eyes. There is another 3D pen called a Polyes Q1 which also has an LED light. The reason for the light is to cure the plastic and harden it without using the extreme heat temperatures of the other 3D pens. This makes it safer for kids to use and it's safe on the eyes since its not a regular LED light. The company even won a Nobel Prize in Physics for their new technology.

Do you sometimes use a Mac and sometimes a PC? Also, do you have any recommended 3D printers? Thanks :)

The Create has a variable temperature and speed range in the hole by the 4 pins and power switch.

you should test out the 3D Magi pen. my friend has it and it seems to be pretty terrible so you could show everyone what is a bad 3D pen to get to help people choose if they want one.

It's the 3Dsimo mini that can be controlled by smartphone, but it's not required. My lix just stopped working completely though, so I can't recommend that one

I like the creopop because it is best for drawing in midair and because it doesn't get hot. However, the price of the pen and filament makes it too expensive.
