Well done on NOT doing the usual YT bs of just copying someone else and covering the whole lot 👍
You are of course correct on the weight and the fact the deadening mat is a vibration damper not a sound deadening layer, a layer of closed cell foam over will do more for sound deadening and save weight and fuel.
I spent a good few yrars installing ICE systems and fully understand the laws of diminishing returns ! 50% coverage is optimal 👍
Good to see a professional doing the job not the usual know all know nothing "influencer "
    Thank you 👍

Have you had any progress on the van wheels fitting yet?

A little. I’ve had the wheel weights relocated and I’ve received longer wobble boats. I’ve ordered 5mm spacers but still waiting for them to arrive. I went for hubcentric Renault trafic specfic ones rather than the cheap universal ones, but I could only get them from Latvia. I’ll be doing a vid of them fitted once they arrive.

Cheaper to buy a roll of lead flashing.

Which is heavier and less affective, so yes it's cheaper but not as good.

I don’t think I’d like to put lead flashing in my van as a sound deadener to be honest.
