The more you do it the better you get at it and you learn the basics like hitting leaves and carpet and asphalt streets. I wish more places had the raised sections in the pavement to identify things like where the entrance is because they really help a lot because they are more tactile to hit with your cane so you can get a lot more feedback from them than anything else.

7/13. I am sighted but I cannot see the ground unaided, need glasses as it’s hazy to me otherwise. Kinda impressed as I kind of used the sound to create a mental texture.
Wood porch was difficult but I think if you were there you would feel the railing and know what it is. Some of the sounds like the wood sounds the same but like I said if you are there you kind of know what should be around me and you can feel things like a railing on the porch and you know what wood feels like so you identify it that but I like being tested like this because nobody else does it like you do so thanks for your help and support and encouragement it means a lot.
I get kind of angry with myself when I cannot identify the sound and when you say what it is I listen to it again and then I think yes I know what that is but the first time it sounds like it was something else.

About half of them right. Using a rolling tip here so sounds are a bit different. 👍

Guess that sound is probably the best thing you do because nobody else does it and it really tests you. How did you decide to do this?
The carpet is the easiest to identify.
You know that I listen to too much ASMR when i was able to guess most of these first go....
