Thanks for the review on the DMR radio for us =) I agree with your recommendations to make it a VALUE purchase for us HAMs =) If they where worried about JOHN Q'Public programming the radios ....... well that horse is already out of the barn anyway /-)

One question. ! Does DMR digital radio work when internet shuts down on earth.
If i buy couple of DMR radio can i Encrypt those sort of speak privacy. And when internet shuts down in the world. It will still work.
Thats my bigg question for preppers.?!
I don't think we are going to worry about that scenario, but being prepared is better than not. I'm sure encryption is not very strong and could be decrypted by someone who knows what they are doing, but it could be useful. In some sort of shtf situation, I would be listening and not talking. RF signature could give you away if you are trying not to be found. Some very weird shit is happening right now, good luck!
Does this radio come preset on 10 watts or at the highest power rating

I know I'm a bit late to the party (about three years), but I would guess that "Analog call" is to send a 1750hz tone for opening a repeater.

@@TheSmokinApe it looks cool and very well made but simply didn't work. I have two and they worked good on 70 cm but couldn't hit much of anything on 2 meters. They did receive pretty good. The stock baofeng antennas worked great on the same repeaters in the area. You may have a different result. I cant complain they refunded money and told me to keep the antennas. I am just curious if you see a great improvement or not when you test it out.

Not sure how you keep so many radio specific programming software versions fresh in memory! I check the giveaway...lol...spam 89 sites for us and the top 10 spammers win a radio! (just for the RT50)
LOL... It's tough, I picked up a radio two nights ago and couldn't remember how to operate it at all...
