But be informed that a man who increased the IGR of Enugu from less than N40 billion per annum to 144 billion per annum didn't come to play around. Dude means business. We should stop building new cities and instead focus on developing roads that connect rural agricultural areas to transportation hubs and markets. This will help farmers expand and mechanize their operations. It’s essential to shift away from a single-commodity economy reliant on natural resources and instead embrace full-scale agriculture. We have a significant amount of idle land that can be utilized for food production, animal husbandry, and other agricultural activities, catering to local consumption and export opportunities. This approach is how many industrialized countries sustain their economies.
We can't stop building new cities, its part on improving urban livability and quality of life. The old Enugu is full and the need for its expansion necessitated the building of this new city, Enugu state has rehabilitated its old farm settlement and has multiple new farm areas already producing agricultural products and its establishing more farming zones accross the state. We have Lion industrial park set up for manufacturing activities already in existence. Mbah is building hundreds of kilometers of rural road connecting those agro zones already. Enugu is adopting a comprehensive developmental approach for a better future.
@@Wilson-js5yr Building new cities is beneficial only for existing industries that require housing for their workers. Is it what this is? If so, great. Currently, the only viable domestic industry is agriculture, and development should focus on supporting farms to encourage people to stay and expand the agricultural economy. I've lived in the U.S. for over 30 years after leaving Nigeria in my 20s. Agriculture is one of the most valued industries in the U.S. Individuals own and operate more than 100,000 to 1,000,000 or more acres of farmland across various locations. People come to work on these farms, which creates opportunities to establish restaurants to serve those workers. Eventually, some of the restaurant and farm workers will want to live close to their jobs, leading to housing development, which in turn stimulates the creation of shopping centers and other amenities. That is how cities develop. I have never heard of a successfully built city that didn't have the support of an existing industry. What is being done in Enugu will likely attract wealthy individuals who do not live in the community to purchase those houses, but they may not even reside in them. If they don't live in those houses, they won't contribute to the local economy by paying taxes, which are necessary to maintain the newly built city. I don't know the details, so I am not criticizing, just curious.
It's better for Uzodinma not to waste farmlands than building all these mushroom cities other South East Governors are building. When Imo State is ready, we will build skyscrapers to compete with Abuja and Lagos. Imo builds big!

The new city has financial districts, entertainment district, a bay, business districts, education district and so on.
