I just bought a 1998 myself about a week ago, probably overpaid but it has very low miles and is in great conditon and I plan on it to be one of my forever cars so didn't really matter. Never even heard of the Orvis edition, it must be extremely rare -looks great.
Good video, that's exactly what i have-2000 Orvis 4.0, did lots of work on it and i'm proud to say i pretty much restored this lovely car to it's former glory
Great video. I’ve got a very clean XJ with the VM engine. It’s fine except it is very difficult to find parts for, for this reason I wish I had bought a 4L.
Thank you so much. I have been an XJ fan since the 90s. I did not know there was an Orvis package on the XJ, even if it was just a UK thing. Do you know if the Orvis was available on the 2 door models there? Your comments on the steering makes me think it might have quite a bit of mileage on it, and just worn.. .. A fresh steering definitely does not feel "dead". Probably time for a refresh with some ZJ V8 components. The door click is from the detent, not the hinge. Again thank you, great video. Great vehicle to start a new channel with. Here in the states, these were common family cars in their day. Then they became the reliable old beater that people gave to their teenagers as a first car. Now, good ones are hard to find. I picked mine up a couple of years ago. It was clean, but I had to pay $10k US for it. Don't regret it at all. It has become a fun overlander for my family.
Great review bud. We had a 1995 Limited 2.5 Turbodiesel for nearly 20 yrs and although it wasn't anything like as powerful or sought after as the 4.0 petrol the engine never gave us many issues over all the years we had it though my dad did spend quite abit on repairs towards the end of it's life. One major thing ye gotta watch on these is flaky electrics though, our had alot of probs with the speedo and lights.
Not sure if you guys cares but if you're bored like me during the covid times then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my girlfriend for the last weeks =)
HEY.... your steering wheel is on the wrong side, has it been in a terrible accident? 😂 Got a '99 Classic myself. Bought it in 2001 with 11,xxx miles on the clock. 375,xxx miles on ot now. STILL runs like the day I bought it. BEST vehicle I have ever owned. 😎👍
So interesting these are so loved here in the US and this version was not available here. What an incredible interior and all the other differences wow. I wish I could buy these seats!!
I wish americans did the same with the jeep xj as the germans did with the mercedes gelandewagen keep the old chassis and make it modern in and outside
Great video, i subscribed. at 03:01 to the left of your left arm, you seem to have some storage container. Was that an orvis feature? looks very oem. Any reference to this would be most helpful. Thanks again
Hey Joel! What is at the bottom of the center console? Underneath the switches and power outlets there seems to be something extra that we never got in the US! Thanks!
Should be coming soon! Just finishing up with my degree at the moment which is taking up all my time. I’d rather wait and do it properly instead of rushing it and throwing it out. Thanks for waiting :)
Life got in the way my friend. Studying at university, career, family, all that adult stuff. It was also a lot of effort to make this video and would be a full time commitment to maintain the quality
Another review from an under age driver of the 90s' Just when did you pass your test? Are you qualified to make objective comments about a car that arrived in the UK in mid 1990s? Just how did it compare back then ?

I actually just a bought a xj yesterday, a 97 mod, the orvis looks mean as,
Jeep cherokee sport the best vehicle ❤

Thanks for showing us your Orvis. That interior is amazing.
Thanks for watching! Yes it’s certainly a nice place to be

Factory black is a rare colour! Nice car!

Worth it for sure. They’re only going up in value. Thanks for watching!

Haha. Very nice. They’re great trucks and lay for ages! Glad you enjoy it. Never sell it, they’re going up in price now
Great video. Can't wait to see more.

Good review. Just just starting with XJ and offroading. So far everything is just perfect :)
Xj stands for eXperimental jeep and was a AMC design
Great first video! Love the XJ, like everyone else it seems. subbed ;)
Thanks a lot. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the video, very cool! I've got a couple of XJs
I wish americans did the same with the jeep xj as the germans did with the mercedes gelandewagen keep the old chassis and make it modern in and outside
Agreed. Only choices now are the new Jimmy, G-Wagon, Wrangler and maybe Project Grenadier when it finally comes :)
It would cost 100.000 £ now, if they did it like the Germans. G-model is just a shopping car anymore.
Nice video! Had no idea European models came with second row headrests. US never had any!
It’s amazing that the US ones didn’t have them to be honest. Chrysler clearly thought you guys didn’t need necks 😂

@@civilisedpsycho9970 brilliant!

That would be the headlamp dipping control.
Please do more offroaders
Will do. I have a 1995 Nissan Patrol TD42 with 23k miles which I plan to do a video on this summer
Great stuff, keep it up!
Good video, why you've stopped?
It's the best suv ever made.
There was a 2.5 petrol manual 'sport' FYI
Nice video thanks!
Eyup Joel lad when's the next video

Get a life Jimmy, you sad prick
I'm 68 from the states... thought I should refresh to go for 69 lmbo.
What size tires are on this? Any lift at all? Thank you
Can you do an XC90 video? Subscribing!
What happened to the big plans on this channel?

@@JHsadler ah that’s a shame! Enjoyed this video! I have two Jeeps, it’s nice to see UK based videos on them as it’s a rarity.
Huh rear head rest and intake box us xj didn't have that
Why is the passenger driving?
That model in that condition could be worth 40,000 in California NY and Michigan
I love 💕 xj
Just watch out for 2000 2001 models with that head casting. Other than that they run forever
Any chance for sale ? Live in County Durham
Could be - its one of the best in the UK 65K on the clock and rust-free.
Steering wheel is on the wrong side I’ll give you 200 dollars
Hahaha
a car
Nice a car buy a now new

What an idiotic comment
