And in the end, he is betrayed by Megatron, becomes Knock Out's new science project, becomes a Terrorcon, and gets murdered by Airachnid. Karma can be a bitch sometimes.

It is a huge disappointment that they had Airachnid kill Breakdown. He was so awesome and his fights with Bulkhead were always awesome to watch. Still I think he'd be happy about Silas getting tortured horribly and then killed.
they killed him off because his actor was getting too expensive. still, I'm not mad at his death because even in death he is a very important character. his corpse wiped mech out for good, then he started a vampire outbreak which led to the decepticons losing all of their insecticons and a lot of forces, this led to shockwave getting his hands on synthetic energon and etc... TL;DR they killed him off but Breakdown's death basically killed mech and caused things to go downhill for decepticons.

Now that Silas was controlling inside Breakdown's body, he wanted to join the Decepticons, and figured he didn't need M.E.C.H. anymore, so that's why he killed all henchman.
I remember as a kid the scene at the end with Silas screaming sent chills down my spine and at the time I felt bad for him. I was young and naive then and didn’t realize that his fate was completely deserved. I think Silas’s impatience was his ultimate downfall. It’s demonstrated multiple times, for instance when he betrays Starscream because he lost Bumblebee’s T-Cog and then again when he betrays his loyal soldiers to as he puts it “Seek the exclusive company of Titans.” Both times if he would’ve just been patient the outcome would’ve probably been more ideal for him. Although it kind of seems like Silas has a sort of descent into madness because in the beginning he seems to know when to retreat, for example in the Operation Breakdown episode when Silas is informed of Breakdown’s rescue party he immediately although reluctantly admits defeat and retreats but as time goes on he seems to think he can take on the world, demonstrated in the nemesis prime episode where instead of doing the smart thing and taking the L after he realizes Fowler was distracting him, he gets back in his little VR chair and continues to try and fight when the battle has already been lost which ultimately in any conventional circumstance would have cost him his life. But because as Silas’ first lieutenant said mech is anything but conventional, Silas’ fate turned out to be much worse than death.
Well, think about it. Breakdown and Knockout were pretty much friends, considering how highly Knockout thought of Breakdown, so imagine how *you* would feel to find that someone else was pretty much using your friend's *reanimated corpse* as a puppet or vessel for themselves. You would likely be less than thrilled, and would want to exact payback in some way.
I gotta say while they wasted a bit of potienal to mess around with Breakdown Silas this was just a satisfying scene to watch. Although Terrorcon Silas was just as entertaining.
Not really, Silas was an pushover and needed to go, he had no revelance to the plot after his death at all and more or less damaged the Decepticons. He was better off getting killed and remembered as a example of how the ambition of evil man can turn your life upsite down, it´s sort of poetic, isn´t it? destroyed by your dar Ambitions, fascinating, isn´t it?
Maybe that wasn't all Silas's fault. His men did say he was hooked up to Breakdown's nervous system. He ended up in the body of the one bot who had more reason than anyone to see Silas and M.E.C.H. dead. I think Breakdown was reaching out from the grave to have his revenge.

I lost my respect for Silas when he address Megatron "lord" in that episode. Ok sure there was no way he could of become a bigger villain than Megatron but I always view him someone who wouldn't served anyone above him kinda like Megatron before being enslaved by Unicron.
I kind of expected that Sylas would get some kind of Transformer body eventually, but the fact that Mech was offed and then Sylas was never seen again until Beast Hunters, and all in one episode, is a total letdown of everything Sylas and Mech as a whole could have been.
I agree. I was kinda hoping Silas would turn other humans into the Combatacons or something. That, or Shocwave could have done it to try and solve the soldier shortage the Decepticons were having. Another thing they could have done is have Shockwave find a way to revive the dead without dark energon, bringing them back in new forms. For example, Dreadwing could come back as Blitzwing, Breakdown could come back as Demolisher and Hardshell could come back as Bombshell, with Silas being put into the Nemesis Prime.
Here's what should've happened...He gets infected with the syn thin/ Dark Engeron...becoming a techno vampire...but instead of being put down...he escapes the Warship...and comes back leading an army of Techno vamps!

Tbh, he was one of the nicer cons. In the episode "stronger, faster" he was actually seen having a conversation with one of the workers. I don't remember which episode, but someone also said that breakdown told one of the workers, I forgot what they're called. But he told them that he knows it's a thankless job, but he appreciates all the hard work they do.

For sure. As a kid, I felt bad and not really creeped out, but now, I truly realize how disturbing it was. Seeing Silas’s scarre… for lack of a better term, pale, lifeless corpse, inside of another decaying lifeless corpse. Is just really eery to me now. Tbh, I’d rather be dead than live the rest of my life like that. This is easily in my top 5 maybe even 3 most disturbing/dark transformers prime moments. Dear god his screams at the very end.
This was pretty dark, even for a kid's programme. Seeing what was left of Cylas in that walking corpse of Breakdown, you knew that Knockout was never going to let that go, and Megatron was far too savvy to permit Cylas an opportunity to cement his position further and possibly attempt to enact a coup at a later date. He knew how to deal with Starscream, but Cylas was a lot more devious, so he was only ever going to be entertained for as long as it took to learn the operating procedure for Damocles, then let Soundwave and Knockout play with him as their new science project.
They really didn't do enough with Breakdown. Instead of introducing a million new characters, they could've developed the ones they had. His death also carried no weight whatsoever. Knockout, his closest friend, barely seemed to mind it.
No, I'm pretty sure Breakdown's T-Cog remained in his sparkless body. I mean, if they _did_ use Starscream's T-Cog, which would've held the shape of Optimus Prime's truck mode at the time, he'd need to find and scan another truck of the same model Breakdown turned into.

To make this a bit more tragic, apparently Knockout had romantic feelings for Breakdown, so imagine silently worrying about someone and then finding out that not only is he dead, but some arrogant insect is walking around in his corpse demanding he deserves to be your equal

Odd the Cons assumed Breakdown was MIA instead of KIA. Though he didn't witness it happen, Dreadwing should of had the idea that Airachnid killed Breakdown especially when he told Breakdown not to go after her alone. The fact that Airachnid was still at large and Breakdown didn't return at all, Dreadwing had to have come to the idea that he was killed and reported it to Megatron.
The best edit that can be salvaged from a totally botched episode. too bad because a well written version of this could've been one of the best episodes of the series..

I lost my respect for Silas when he address Megatron "lord" in that episode.
Ok sure there was no way he could of become a bigger villain than Megatron but I always view him someone who wouldn't served anyone above him kinda like Megatron before being enslaved by Unicron.
Megatron said the same to Unicron. lol
But when Megatron first comes to Unicron he says he wants to be his "humble servant", he only doesn't because Unicron rejects his service.

I kind of expected that Sylas would get some kind of Transformer body eventually, but the fact that Mech was offed and then Sylas was never seen again until Beast Hunters, and all in one episode, is a total letdown of everything Sylas and Mech as a whole could have been.

I agree. I was kinda hoping Silas would turn other humans into the Combatacons or something. That, or Shocwave could have done it to try and solve the soldier shortage the Decepticons were having.
Another thing they could have done is have Shockwave find a way to revive the dead without dark energon, bringing them back in new forms. For example, Dreadwing could come back as Blitzwing, Breakdown could come back as Demolisher and Hardshell could come back as Bombshell, with Silas being put into the Nemesis Prime.
Here's what should've happened...He gets infected with the syn thin/ Dark Engeron...becoming a techno vampire...but instead of being put down...he escapes the Warship...and comes back leading an army of Techno vamps!

Silas getting distroyed by the cons would be classified as karma, between Kidnapping June Stealing Bee's t-cog, trying to dissect Arcee, successfully dissecting Breakdown, and he of no doubt had other plans for the bots and the Darby's (if the fan theories are anything to go by) if there were any sympathy to be had for him... I think it is safe to say that it would be going to the trash!!

Tbh, he was one of the nicer cons. In the episode "stronger, faster" he was actually seen having a conversation with one of the workers. I don't remember which episode, but someone also said that breakdown told one of the workers, I forgot what they're called. But he told them that he knows it's a thankless job, but he appreciates all the hard work they do.

I wish he didn’t kill his men, Cylas and MECH could’ve been a great and awesome side villain (or main villains for the RID series since it’s a continuation of prime) cuz they could’ve expanded on that plus (for RID) THIS could’ve been a better reason for Bumblebee to go back to Earth with Sidewsipe and Strong Arm (I need you on Earth Bumblebee cuz the humans have perfected our technology and are abusing it etc.) Hell maybe one of the MECH bots gains a personality and becomes a Decepticon idk 🤷🏾♂️

For sure. As a kid, I felt bad and not really creeped out, but now, I truly realize how disturbing it was. Seeing Silas’s scarre… for lack of a better term, pale, lifeless corpse, inside of another decaying lifeless corpse. Is just really eery to me now. Tbh, I’d rather be dead than live the rest of my life like that. This is easily in my top 5 maybe even 3 most disturbing/dark transformers prime moments. Dear god his screams at the very end.

This was pretty dark, even for a kid's programme. Seeing what was left of Cylas in that walking corpse of Breakdown, you knew that Knockout was never going to let that go, and Megatron was far too savvy to permit Cylas an opportunity to cement his position further and possibly attempt to enact a coup at a later date. He knew how to deal with Starscream, but Cylas was a lot more devious, so he was only ever going to be entertained for as long as it took to learn the operating procedure for Damocles, then let Soundwave and Knockout play with him as their new science project.
They really didn't do enough with Breakdown. Instead of introducing a million new characters, they could've developed the ones they had.
His death also carried no weight whatsoever. Knockout, his closest friend, barely seemed to mind it.

No, I'm pretty sure Breakdown's T-Cog remained in his sparkless body. I mean, if they _did_ use Starscream's T-Cog, which would've held the shape of Optimus Prime's truck mode at the time, he'd need to find and scan another truck of the same model Breakdown turned into.

@@blimblam1357 I don't think they are, I think they exist in their own universe (Like the MCU and the comics) I think the creators wanted to do something different because those two probably had the most positive relationship out of all the decepticons, and they are allowed to write up more radical stories for comics rather than the show

This is why i am so reluctant to rewatch transformers prime everytime. i fuckin hate silas. he was the worst character ever to be in this show, and i'd rather have more 'grill' episodes than the ones with this guy. even MEGATRON is disgusted at what he did to breakdown. as a little kid, when i first watched "human factor" and "thirst" i was given nightmares for days on end, and i hated this show. a few years later, i matured and managed to pull my shit together (somewhat). i swear to god this show is DARK. they shouldve killed off silas after "nemesis prime". nowadays i just skip those two episodes to spare me the relapse of such horror.

Odd the Cons assumed Breakdown was MIA instead of KIA. Though he didn't witness it happen, Dreadwing should of had the idea that Airachnid killed Breakdown especially when he told Breakdown not to go after her alone. The fact that Airachnid was still at large and Breakdown didn't return at all, Dreadwing had to have come to the idea that he was killed and reported it to Megatron.
Poor Silas, he should have just hoofed it out of there. Not become a test subject for the Decepticons to examine.
