Just subbed to your channel because I’m in the same boat. Getting back into RC after 20 years and am so excited. Taking my son and nephew on the journey and hopefully they will love it like I did in the late 80s early 90s and then late 90s and early 2000s. I Really really wanted the DX6R but it showed as discontinued at the hobby shop websites. I emailed Spektrum 3 days ago and they in fact confirmed it’s discontinued. I looked for a used one and found a few but am hesitant. I do ABSOLUTELY believe a successor is coming and soon (1st quarter 2021). I’d imagine a forth quarter 2020 release was what was planned but the ‘rona screwed that up. We shall see. Good luck and I hope you and your daughter have a great time with the awesome RC hobby.

Hi, and thanks for your comment! Yes, although it's a bit disappointing that the DX6R is no longer available, I do believe that it's a result of this current Global situation - meaning, they probably would have announced a successor by now, and the gap in their product lineup would be short-lived. That being said, Spektrum reps on the forums I follow regularly have "hinted" (without confirming or denying anything) that there is something in the works. If you've seen the iX20 that the Air division released last year, I would expect a DX-"Next"-R radio to run along the same lines. Spektrum reps have hinted that the Surface team learned a lot from what the Air team did, not to mention a few tricks of their own... :) So here's hoping they announce something soon in 2021!

Waiting for DX6R pro, I asked about it but they wouldn't tell me any information but said there probably is one coming up but didn't know what time frame, Great video by the way

Thanks! Well, I've been around various forums and FB groups, and it pretty much goes without saying that no one associated with Horizon or Spektrum is going to be able to confirm or deny anything about a product that has not been announced yet. That being said, I've seen a few Horizon products go On Sale or show up discontinued not long before a successor product was announced over the past year. The TLR 8ightX, 22 5.0 DC, and 22-4 2.0 all saw sales before their successor was officially announced (the latter was somewhat spoiled by Dakotah Phend's surprise appearance at the WC with the 22X-4). I've also seen a few "hints" here and there discussing how exciting the "next" things on deck at Spektrum would be, without giving any details of course... But the fact that the radio is now "No longer Available" is definitely a sign that they will probably be ready to announce something soon.
