A friend of mine gave me one of these a few months ago and I honestly had no idea what it was. I pulled it out tonight and well, now I've got to go buy potatoes! LOL. Excited to try it out with the family. Does anyone know what cookbook he is talking about in the video?
I bought one of these at a yard sale because I like to decorate my kitchen with vintage and antique things but I never bothered to use it. That was 15 years ago now that I've become a vegetarian I'll be using it like crazy.

Saw it on ebay yesterday. Current price 379.00. I have one and am going to take the guard off mine too. Makes more sense when shredding cabbage, cucumber, onion and zucchini. Notice with the finger guard in place you can't do all the things the cutter was intended to do. Maybe that's why folks don't have more success with this unit.
