DreamWizard9 It kinda is, agreed. No Prayer was, despite the change in style, a pretty solid album. It wasn't a masterpiece like their previous releases, but there was a consistency of good songs on it. However, on Fear Of the Dark, there was 3-4 absolutely shitty songs, but there still was 2-3 top-class songs -I personally listen to No Prayer more often than Fear Of The Dark ;)
No Prayer has short songs. It was the first time they kept it simple. I think that is why they get so much flack for this album. Critics probably got used to epic and intricate songs and felt it was a lazy effort.
I hate how albums like No Prayer For The Dying, X Factor and Somewhere In Time are sometimes completely banned from the setlists! i love them all! UP THE IRONS!
One of my favorite Iron Maiden Songs of their entire catalog. Love everything on this song. Specially the live version. It's a shame we can't have any live disc with this song. Up the Irons Forever.
Fond memories of that tour, my first Iron Maiden concert at the Colisée de Québec January 16th 1991 with Anthrax as opening act by a winterstorm evening... The Gulf war had just begun that night Up the Irons 🤘
@@Pat78 ive seen them 10 x I already got my tickets for the 11th concert and only the last time i felt "disapointed" after the cancer and all, but ive seen videos of yhe last tour and he looks awasome
Lo que más abmiro de Bruce es la poderosa voz de tenor dramático, como lo vive, lo expresa cada letra de la canción y esa canción lo he escuchado con tanto poder que he llegado a pogear solo xD
A remember going to see Maiden on a short British Tour for this album there was no elaborate stage set for that tour and Maiden killed it, best a ever saw Maiden. Gers had just joined n gave the whole thing a step up Ahhhh great memories.
I was 5 when this were recorded. Could these guys imagine, at that time, that so many children would watch these videos 30 years later, and become fans of songs written when they were not yet born?
This song is a gem...it is amazing...it is slow, bluesy, fast and the lyrics are great...The message to me is that it is about a person who is searching for the meaning of life...
@duchristhh Janick is a excellent and very tallented guitarplayer... sometimes he sounds dirty but in another times we can listen solos with a lot of melody and fine technics
@PhilClarke1080 Yes, I recall seeing them in Brussels in a completely sold out Vorst Nationaal. In the beginning it was a bit awkward with almost no props on stage. But looking back at it now it was pretty cool.
This song had me thinking about if God exists. I am a Christian since 1994 but lost my faith in 1999 but listening to this song -- it is Iron Maiden debating of there being a God. This song has a new meaning for Nicko McBrain.
this song is so freaking awesome I come to ask myself, how come the NPFTD album has had no success at all (especially compared to other maiden albums) ?
since they seem to be doing tours by era lately (somewhere back in time, maiden england), im hoping they do a no prayer/fear of the dark/x factor/virtual xi era tour in the future. i didnt get into maiden until after bruce came back, but so badly i wish i could hear stuff from the 90-00 era instead of hearing 80-89 and 01-present stuff every time i see them. dont get me wrong, i love the trooper and NOTB as much as the next guy, but ive never heard tailgunner or man on the edge live.
This song doesn’t get enough love. It’s so painfully beautiful.
Rita Lovett - This entire performance is tear-inducing, and Bruce’s voice is just breathtaking!
The whole album doesn’t get enough love.
My Garage band used to produce a pretty good rendition of this one.
Very underrated song! One of my faves from 90s Maiden ;)
+Mickey Holm Actually I feel that whole album is very underrated!
DreamWizard9 It kinda is, agreed.

Totally agree, honetly my fave song from them
yes :)
That's the cleanest I've ever heard Bruce sound
Agree, they were on fire here all of them., killer album.
One of the most beatiful ballad of Metal World. For me the No Prayer For The Dying is the BEST Maiden album.
For me it’s not the best, but the most listened. It’s just so damn good and enjoyable, never gets boring
Holy sh!t Bruce's voice here is flawless. Why couldn't he sound like this on the album?!
Because they wanted raspy voice on the album.
And that was a big mistake because the album is shit. @@Ketis1985
No, he is not, he is very underrated @@glide789
Underrated album and song.
I hate how albums like No Prayer For The Dying, X Factor and Somewhere In Time are sometimes completely banned from the setlists! i love them all!
UP THE IRONS!
Go see The Future past tour 2024 with Caught Somewhere in Time, Alexander the Great and Stranger in a Strange Land on the setlist 😉
Maien should be play this song more often...great album.
I think reason why they don't play anything from that album because Bruce's hate towards it tbf the production is awful
One of the best and most underrated Maiden songs.
idk why people dislike this album.. this is one of my favorite Maiden songs of all time. I get chills down my spine every time I listen to this song!
@metalhead6526THE ASSASSIN NOT GREAT?? YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR EARS!! CUNT!!😂
@metalhead6526wrong
Why is this so underrated ? It's got a really good solo in it too and great riff....whats going on??!!!
One of my favorite Iron Maiden Songs of their entire catalog. Love everything on this song. Specially the live version. It's a shame we can't have any live disc with this song.
Up the Irons Forever.
You can have it. On the "From Here To Eternity" Maxi Single you will find an official live version. Very good one.
One of my favorite Maiden songs!!!🤘🤘
One of their finest songs.
Fond memories of that tour, my first Iron Maiden concert at the Colisée de Québec January 16th 1991 with Anthrax as opening act by a winterstorm evening... The Gulf war had just begun that night Up the Irons 🤘

This song just sums up what life is...mysterious...
We are born and we ask questions and then we die not answering all of those questions we had...

What a voice
Great song...totally overlooked by the band for some reason, I would love to see in the set list🤟

Yea man. The 1990-2000 albums are sooo good. I wish they played them live too.
One of my fav Maiden songs. Masterpiece
One of my favorites albums...
Impresionante los solos de Dave Murray.
I love this song
this song can easily touch my soul! I cannot believe it!
A remember going to see Maiden on a short British Tour for this album there was no elaborate stage set for that tour and Maiden killed it, best a ever saw Maiden. Gers had just joined n gave the whole thing a step up Ahhhh great memories.

Brilhante performance!!
Awesome performance!!
One of my favorite maiden songs
Wow...this song rules. Compare Bruce to some tours previous to this one, here he sings like a dream, unbelieveable
my god bruce sounds amazing here.. wish i could have seen them live back then..too bad i was just barely born when the album came out
ótimo show ótima musica perfeita desde os anos 80 e 90 que curto iron maiden e sempre vou curtir iron maiden para sempre
I saw them 2 times on that tour and it was amazing! IRON MAIDEN still rule!
pure talent!!!!
That guitar sends shivers down my spine! beautiful!

Great song, and amezing vocals.
What a fucking voice!
GO JANICK! GO GO GO! mr maximum voltage man!
одна из моих любимых песен!
I really hope Maiden will play this live someday
Underrated :(
what a voice!!!
brings back memories !!!
Dickinson is SPOT ON here. His live performances seriously improved vocally between 1987 and 1990
This song is a gem...it is amazing...it is slow, bluesy, fast and the lyrics are great...The message to me is that it is about a person who is searching for the meaning of life...
Amo essa música ❤😍
great song!
Beautiful melody!
Haven't seen this one live before, very cool. Dave going nuts on the double solo is pretty wild. Would be nice if Bruce could get the lyrics right.
Just sick solos in this Maiden tune JUST LOVE IT .......;)
bloody epic! maidens for life
This is the best album I’ve ever seen
i love forever IRON MAIDEN....
God, I love this song.
francondor - you're absolutely right. And shame on every one who says otherwise ... walking a long road, never reaching the end .....brilliant.
@duchristhh Janick is a excellent and very tallented guitarplayer... sometimes he sounds dirty but in another times we can listen solos with a lot of melody and fine technics
No prayer for dying one of a melody song that I like
Wow, great footage and whoever filmed this did a great job capturing guitar solos as well!
great song great iron w iron maiden
great song
This song should be in Maidens setlist
Great song!

This is the song of my life!!
essa musica eh foda.
There are times when I wonder and times when I cry....
Muito bom mesmo!
저평가된 앨범의 타이틀곡이자 저평가된 노래
I was there...my first Maiden gig.
No Prayer is a very nice album!
sublime eccezionale.
Bruce cantando um absurdo
GREAT SONG!!!!!!!!! UP THE IRONS
Shame this song is overlooked so much. If this song was on number of the beast it would be considered a classic.
maiden é demais
@PhilClarke1080
Yes, I recall seeing them in Brussels in a completely sold out Vorst Nationaal. In the beginning it was a bit awkward with almost no props on stage. But looking back at it now it was pretty cool.
first time i heard it and its awesome song
It would be nice to hear Strange World right after that. The ending matches its intro. =)

Dit was mijn eerste Maiden concert!!!!
That Drumset is a small fortress! :D UP THE IRONS! from Finland
this song is so freaking awesome I come to ask myself, how come the NPFTD album has had no success at all (especially compared to other maiden albums) ?
"the album peaked at No. 2 in the UK Albums Chart and contains the band's only UK Singles Chart No. 1, "Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter".
AMEN TO THAT, BROTHER!
It's been 34 years!!!
of the best songs of maiden, perhaps underestimated by the new guitarist at the time...janick....
sorry my english, but

@francondor all albums are so good from the first to the last
I was 15 when this came out and begged my parents to take me and see them at cobo hall, didnt happen.
I actually think they would have liked it.
I Agree !!!
You have this video 19 years somewhere? Respect man.
