In this one it seems he was tilted a bit to call the referee or just messing up with her too, why? The interaction actually starts at 4:00, the girl just flipped her own rook upside>down while taking his pawn, it doesnt affect the game in any way so she was trying to calm him down a bit by putting it back but it didnt work. You see him a few seconds later explaining to the referee what she did and the referee didnt think to much of it because its just a silly mind game haha. Both of them do dummy stuff from time to time due to being friends.

Is an upside-down piece on the board some kind of signal or an indication of something? EDIT: Oh I see that an upside-down rook equals a promoted queen. I've never heard of that rule before!

Плюс родители или шахматный тренер ещё и крысятничеству учат: в ответ на забавный каламбур девчонки с перевернутой фигурой - сразу позвал судью, чтобы выбить себе времени. Скидку на возраст делать не хочу и не буду - напротив него сидит замечательный пример адекватного игрока, которому возраст для этого не помеха.
I love watching those two play. The smiles, subtle gestures, and little chit chat makes the game fun for the players as well as their audience.
