That cold reading Darren does with the woman is amazing:
* Surname, not first name because it’s easy to ‘stumble’ across a first name
* Don’t pick a common name like Smith or Brown (eliminates thousands of common names)
* Not longer than 6 or 7 letters
* Does it have a double meaning? (Many surnames derive from professions, so her saying no eliminates lots)
* Does it have a word within the word? (Again, narrows it down)
And all this whilst claiming it’s to make it harder for himself and more of a challenge! 😂 What a genuinely brilliant performer Darren is.

I think the audience missed the subtle effect of Brown writing MOUSE instead of RAT!

I should have said comedic effect, nothing to do with the magic. He wrote CAT as if the drawing wasn't good enough for the audience to get. Then with the second drawing, we would have expected RAT but for an extra level of comedy he wrote mouse.@@jthc5627
