  • What happens to my paired Quinetic wireless switches that use kinetic energy when the power goes OFF..?
How to unpair Quinetic wireless switches that use kinetic energy...
Is using kinetic switches the future as they don’t need wiring or batteries to power them. In my previous video I replace a one gang one way switch with a Quinetic Wireless in-line receiver then add other kinetic switches to control the light (link below). This a fast way of converting a wired one way switch to be controlled from more than one switch with out the need to run cables, lift floorboards or chase walls. I showed in a few minutes how to pair Quinetic kinetic switches so you have 2 way and 2 way and intermediate switching of a light.
The pairing process of other kinetic switches is very easy and takes only a few seconds to do.

Hi Gaz, If during a rewire of the house, can you legally replace all the light switches with this new way giving you the flexibility to put the switch/switches wherever suites or do regulations say the original fixed wiring always has to stay in place.

If this topic can be brought up and it happens to pair defferently, im buying this switch right away. I hope you shed a light on this and post it in your next video. I would say no, because the neighbours set up would already be paired and set up (ie, closed to other devices). However if in the extremrly unlikely circumstances that you and your neighbour happened to be setting up switches at the exact same moment in time then yes it's possible.

Ah but what happens when there is a power cut and the light was off. Does it remain off when the power comes back on. I only ask because our touch lamps come on when the power comes back on even if they were previously off. This means when we are away on holiday we have to unplug these incase of a power cycle and they come on and stay on for a week when we're not there.

Why not just have the Module inside a Bulb Socket Assembly, further reducing the cost of wiring ?
Can a slave switch also act as a master for pairing?
The need of the master switch for un-paring only would be logical.

@@marcusshipley3935 You're talking about visual safety when the mains go down momentarily. I'm talking about electrical safety within the house. If you had a short due to a water leak, rodent chewed a wire, etc., you could have a fire hazard if the power automatically flowed when it's restored. If you don't want to be caught on the stairs during a power outage (regardless of duration), get battery-powered automatic emergency lights for such locations.
