Interesting to see that a bearing is added to a supposed non-bearing caster wheel. Are those wheels ever used without an added bearing? I bought a rolling work table from Harbor Freight and was a bit disappointed that the casters did not have a roller, ball, or sleeve bearing. The axle fix sloppily inside the wheel hole. I added shim material (soda can aluminum) to take up most of the slack and added a washer or two to remove side to side play. I wonder if those wheels could handle the addition of a real bearing? An additional problem was that the rotating casters (locking) dragged along the floor, refusing to swivel no matter the direction. I disassembled them (drilled out the rivet) and found that the tolerance of manufacture was so poor that the number of bearings (22x2 sides) were crowded and so I remove one and reassembled them. They work much better but still suffer from some drag along the floor, not swiveling smoothly. Warranty replacement swivel pair are on order and I am almost frightened to see what comes. Just curious about your take on this.
