Having a Disney College Program reunion would be nice. But most people have moved on. It was nice to be around other down to earth people who are nice. Majority of the CP interns actually liked me for who I really was. I didn't have to fake or act luke somebody I am really not.
I met a lot of great and awesome people during my time at the college program. I practically considered them like my 2nd family. I lucky enough to get assigned with roommates that I was able to get along with and clique. They made it easy for me. Again, this was before smartphones and social media.
I just switched my major to hospitality management and I am considering doing the dcp. I am only a freshman, so I have time to think about it and would probably take a semester off in my junior year but it’s good to hear these things. Thanks for the video !
Glad I was able to help. Just taking a shot at it will help you come out of your shell. If not , being the hospitality industry most def will lol Good luck on all your future endeavors. Come back in the future and let me know how things turn out for you.
I understand that many CP interns have no job experience of any kind. The CP is basically their first job. I understand many self term because it is too much for them to handle. I recommend that all who want to apply to the Disney CP, start working part-time jobs beforehand to build up a work ethic and some sort of experience and work habits before you apply. Then working hard, won't come as a shock or trauma.
If I did the dcp it would practically be my first job and that scares me. Any advice? I’m a freshman in college and want to go during my junior year so I don’t have much time to get a job and I’m busy with school
I just got accepted but I'll be basically taking a semester off from college so I am thinking about whether I should really do it or not. I want to but what does that mean after I come back to my college
Congrats Faith! It’s a great opportunity. When you get back to school you’ll pick up where you left off. My first 6 months of the program I took online classes.
Appreciate the insight bro! I have been considering doing the disney college program for a while and I am about to graduate this fall from ASU. How competitive is it getting accepted into the program and do a lot of people get job offers to stay on staff following completion?
Thanks for tuning in! Man go for it man. Do you know anyone on campus that’s been thru the program? It’s pretty competitive but as long as your get thru the online interview process with the questions once you do the interview with a live person the biggest thing is just letting your personality shine bright! I have 2 roommates personally that still works with the company 10 years later!
Im getting a bachelors in English. I have been considering being a writer for disney. Did they have any programs like that or classes where you could work for disney in that way ? I'm debating on whether to go or not because I'm 26 ill be 27nat the end of the year and I don't want to do the program for a couple of months and than come back to my hometown with nothing 😅.
Yes they have advanced programs that could help you. If you do decide to do the DCP just go in with the mindset of being on a mission. Network & find events , people , etc that could help you get to your desired goal . Good luck

I got accepted I start next week lol. I’m excited, but nervous (especially being poc) but overall excited
Congrats and good luck!!!
My son got accepted and is very introverted. I pray this experience opens him up and builds him up.
I pray that it does too! He’s most definitely going to find a circle of people that he can connect with
@@carlabianco7162 congrats to your son!! He’s going to learn a lot! I’m sure he’s going to make you proud. 🎉
I was in the Dcp 10 years ago too
Good times brother!
My son just started his DCP in July 2023. He is a Photo Pass Photographer at Animal Kingdom
Congrats to your son! I pray that everything works out well & that it’s worthwhile for him.
that’s all I hear when applying for jobs now “how was Disney” lol
Tell ‘em Bri!!! Lol
I am a Disney College Program Alumni from Summer 2000. I stayed at Vista Way. Worked in magic Kingdom at the Mainstream Shops.
Wow that’s amazing! Have you had a chance to visit over the years?
@@DeuceTheDopeDad I went back once in 2014.
@@DeuceTheDopeDad I prefer Universal studios over Disney as an adult.

And I am an introvert so hearing what you said about that really encourages me to
Because working in the hospitality industry I’m gonna have to get over it

Hello there, I just got accepted and I'm doing research to decide whether to say yes or no.

thanks for the info! doing my program this fall
You’re welcome Kate! Congrats! Hope you enjoy it
Get a part time job before you start. Save up and get a feeling at doing work. Build up a work ethic.
I needed this 💯💯
