That sound transports me back to my childhood when the birds were everywhere in rural Bucks County PA. They're all gone now, and so is the agriculture that allowed them to thrive. :(

I like how they call twice, then ruffle their feathers.

These are lovely birds, if I had more land I would try to raise them.

I feel so sad. Today as I travelled from London up the A1 North, one walked out in front of my car at 70mph. My car is damaged as well.

Pheasants are bred and then released in hunting reserves here in Northern Italy.
The countryside is exploited to the point that habitat for this kind of game is almost nonexistent. A few of these somehow manage to survive hunting season and just casually stroll around the pathways running along fields and roads. Just stumbled upon a couple of females this afternoon.
    Beautiful video, by the way.

Excellent footage! These beauties are also found in British Columbia (Canada) in areas such as the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Island, and the south central Interior regions.

+Super Nintendan Sad to say, the pheasant population over here on Vancouver Island's Saanich Peninsula, has dwindled to almost nothing.
Really miss hearing that familiar call, come the Spring .

Where was this taken? When I lived in South Korea I used to walk by my local river, and occasionally one of these would fly out of the bushes squawking like a giant chicken and scare the shit out of me XD

Well, here I am. A friend called Fazan008 bringed me here because I sent him some songs. He told me that he wanted to show him some songs, what I hear clearly here is... basically a bird that sounds like a chicken or so. So I went from Bring Me The Horizon to a pheasant... how does any of this make sense? I have no idea why do you even read this crap? and I thought I was dumb
