Thank you for the video! I have a 4 yr contract for "brush management" on my farm. I have to kill the multiflora rose & bush honeysuckle. What is best way to go about this in winter? I know I can spray the mfr during spring green up but would rather get started now in winter. Thx!

The Multiflora Rose is best sprayed in the spring with new foliage on. In the fall a lot of the foliage has been lost which means less surface area for the herbicide to translocate into the plant.
The Bush Honeysuckle could be cut off at the ground and stump sprayed with Basal Oil and Garlon or 10-20% solution of Glyphosate and water. Bush Honeysuckle responds very well to foliar application of a simple solution of 3% Glyphosate and water during the growing season. I would not spray in the April-May time frame though.

I ordered the elite premium oil and dye and have the garlon 4. I had been using diesel fuel in garlon and applying a hack n squirt method. Can I use your method on bigger 12 to 20” ailanthus? What should I do with approx a acre of ailanthus that is pencil thickness and 3 to 6 feet high? Should I wait till green up and use glyphosate?

The Basal Bark application can be used on any size tree. Even the very large 12" - 20" trees. Make sure you don't exceed the label rate per acre of the herbicide if you have a very high density of trees. I would foliar spray the smaller trees with 3-5% Glyphosate and water once the foliage is on the trees. Trying to basal spray small pencil sized trees if difficult and wastes herbicide. I would go ahead and basal spray the trees 1" diameter and larger.

whitetail improvements and timber improvements are two completely different things
Completely agree, but they go hand in hand, especially when it comes to an overall habitat management plan, particularly for whitetails.
