There are so many things to keep up with when shopping for a truck, between trim levels and option packages. You did an AWESOME job breaking this all down. Thank you so much!

It's my pleasure. You're right, there are a heap of options and configurations on these trucks. It's hard to keep them straight.

I watched your video a month or so ago and just bought a Patriot Blue Southwest Edition. I rewatched this video just now (my truck won’t be delivered until next week) and realized this truck is the same color! Only difference is mine has the 22” wheels and is the 6’ 4” bed (which I preferred).

Love the Patriot Blue and Love the SW Edition. It’s a great value. I don’t love having a sunroof, but my wife does so …. 🤷🏼‍♂️.
With the bigger cab on the 5th gen, I think that the 6’4” bed looks better than the 5’7” bed. I think I’ll go for the 6’4” bed on my next truck.
What feature are you looking forward to the most?

@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 I actually like the sunroof, as do my wife and kids, but to each their own. That’s why it’s nice that Ram makes these trucks so configurable. I’m looking forward to the roomy crew cab but also like the power steps, the 12” screen and the heated and cooled seats. Mine happens to be the level 2 Laramie package so I’m curious how the stereo will be as well. Only thing it is missing is the technology package but I can live without that.

Please don’t take that the wrong way. We have had a vehicle with a sunroof, my wife is always going to want a sunroof. I just never used it when we had it. I love the idea of driving at night looking up through that panoramic roof at the night sky. Southwest edition is the best bang for the buck right now, IMO.

@@prestonflanikensellscars9640 Not at all! To each their own. My first nice car had leather interior and a sunroof and I’ve been a fan ever since. Couldn’t agree more with the Southwest edition being a good value. That’s why I’m driving 9hrs to bring mine home this week. The Laramie Longhorn was a nice version too when it was still available although I don’t know what pricing looked like on it.

I bought a 2020 RAM 1500 in low level Laramie trim because my wife insisted on heated and vented front seats and heated steering wheel (truly luxurious) and I wanted bright, long-life LED headlights as a minimum specification. I could have lived with the nice Big Horn cloth seats, because I had a bad experience with low durability F-150 leather, but the Laramie leather seems much thicker and more durable. I didn't want it overloaded with gizmos or items with low practicality with chance of failure such as a mechanical sunroof or air suspension. Agree that 20" rims are preferable to 22" rims since more rubber is better. I really like eTorque for the seamless stop start and buttery shifting and better gas mileage and no maintenance issues. I got a folding front bench seat which is great for versatility, dogs, and seating for 6 in a pinch, but this seems to have been phased out in recent production. Things I wish I had but don't is forward collision control which I feel makes my Lincoln Corsair safer, and reclining rear seats for rear passenger comfort and to access the behind the seat area. The 8.4" screen is plenty for my needs and I like tactile buttons and knobs. Upper level trims have leather grab handles wraps, so I did paracord wraps on all 4 grab handles, for better grip but also emergency paracord that is always ready at hand. The rear view mirror seems upside down (narrower on the bottom) and not wide enough. I got a clip on wider mildly convex mirror that includes ALL of the rear window plus the rear right side window. Took a day to get used to objects-look-smaller convexity, but now nobody sneaks up on me. Not sure if the digital mirror addresses this.
