- In guitar playing (apart from classical guitar) legato is used interchangeably as a label for both musical articulation and a particular application of technique-playing musical phrases with predominantly hammer-ons or pull-offs instead of picking. Wanna bring some life to your playing? Understanding Legato is great way to help light a fire under your playing

Damn, this guy is an insane guitarist! I love his sound. Makes me wish my parents had let me take up guitar instead of piano. Granted, I am an accomplished pianist but I love a good shredder any day!
Awesome! There has been a lot of teachers in music like Steve Vai, Joe Striani, Ingwie Maalmsteen, and it keeps getting better and better.
I HAVE to go get this! I love Jacky
i already have it!!! yay!!
I WILL be at that level someday soon.
I find legato more difficult than sweep picking
+Flame Thr0er i read that when the guy said it
nah
I can understand that. It's really easy to rush through the notes and not pay attention to articulation and phrasing.
Check out della vega no one evr cm close to dis guy
i agree
For everyone saying he messed up. He human, shut up, he's also playing really fast so it's bound to happen.
Folks, check out more Jacky Vincent videos on his RUclips page!

Is it weird if I get sick cuz he plays so good?
+Eva Ternik (Falling In Reverse) no i could do it as well! hes the only guitarist i look up to!
***** if he is her biggest idol of course she'll look just him up. Other guitar players are not as good as Jacky is.
***** dude if I like him what's the big deal just back off
Eva Ternik thank you! You're amazing!
+Alex Otey because I don't listen to any other people I just listen to Jacky or tøp so if u have a problem with me looking up to him and him only maybe u should no why. I don't know of any other guitarists. I'll try to find some if that makes you happy. and I'm not a hypocrite.
Do anybody knows what kind of guitar cabs is he using in this video?
Alex D. He's using an EVH iii
By the way man i recently found that those cabinets are not the evh 5150 iii, those are the mesa 2x12 slanted cabs just with removed logo.
2:13 Song?
Did you know that song?
falling in reverse good bye graceful live
Goodbye Graceful
I think Jacky is a really good guitarist. One of my favorites. Thats why that legato even as a exercise was disappointing. Also all that gain is not needed. Sure hes a shredder, but that gain is horrible when doing exercises. That gain shows all the imperfections of that technique. It makes it seem like he has poor technique when going slow. This video doesnt compliment Jacky at all. Also, i think i liked when he used Jackson guitars more.
If you pay really close attention, you can tell that he kind of based his guitars off the Jackson guitars he used.
Probably. All the more reason to keep with the Jackson guitars i think.
***** I like Ibanez, myself. 7 strings for the win. Dean guitars though. I am a stickler for nice headstocks and the Dean logo is so large that the headstock is just not visually pleasing. Jackson guitars would be my second pick, after Ibanez, because they do have a 7string model, and an affordable guitar that is pretty solid. The Dinky, of course. I also like the outrageous colors of Jackson.
haha seems to struggle with playing it slow, in time. His face tells all, both takes lmao
rip headphoensss
Hahahah funny, he can play fast but playing clean legato is not the best, hahah typical.
You stupid?
he's right to a point, you know. Fast legato is easier than slower legato where each note must be clean.
Pretty terrible legato at 1:07 honestly..
nigel barker can you do better?
He has got me on alternate picking, and possibly sweeping, but yeah I can do legato better than that lol.
No I will not post a video.
***** K
if you say you can do legato better than him, and you wont upload a video.. then i can say i`m the best one at legato too.. and you'll believe, am i right?
+Teo bZ but to be fair, his slower legato was pre shite.
You really need to watch all the 80s videos of the true masters of fast guitar playing like Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine, Greg Howe or Jason Becker to realise how lacking Jacky Vince really is. The give away was the weak way in which he holds the pick and his legato sounds like a U-tube amateur really. To get it right you must practice slowly for a very long time and build up the speed without allowing noise and weaker notes to enter into your playing. I can always tell when a player has rushed to get to the end goal without doing the time involved.
Mickeyislowd dude have you heard his bands new album? And go check out his Instagram too. His playing has developed a lot...
Šimon Sedláček no he's completely right, Jacky Vincent's skill isn't very refined. Especially when it comes to his technique, listen to Transcend by Polyphia or a Martian Winter by Angel Vivaldi and you'll see what I mean. Overall he's not a very good guitarist.
He's so sloppy hes fast tho but even with that hes unoriginal
He still is very young though, just give him time and when he is those guitarists' ages that you mentioned, I'm pretty sure he'll be leaps and bounds ahead of them.
@@artvassk8287 Polyphia and martian winter. sure dude.
NGL, that was the most boring legato ive ever heard
Omg sooo shitty
He made about 20 mistakes in first 10 seconds of playing
