  • A caregiver is an individual who looks after or cares for children, seniors, people with disabilities or people who are ill. In Canada, the caregiving occupation comprises two National Occupational Classification (or NOC) codes:
NOC 44100: Home child care providers
    NOC 44101: Home support workers
Canada faces a significant shortage of caregivers and the government is making active efforts to encourage foreign residents with the skills and experience necessary for caregiving jobs to move to Canada permanently. The Caregiver program is a pilot immigration program that allows home child care workers and home support workers to qualify for permanent residence (PR) in Canada.
    In this video, we cover:
    - Who is a caregiver in Canada?
    - Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot
    - Two eligibility categories: Gaining experience and Direct to PR
