@@JayOnPcInp he was outgeared barbs do not need a lot of gear and they have a ton of health just about every other class would have died there besdies a well geared fighter. Rogues do not need headshots their poison stacks and rupture damage is enough to anyone. Barbs health pool is stupid.

Rule of thumb when streaming: people can turn the volume down, they cant turn it up beyond 100% though. As such, it's safer to have it higher than you think it should be. Then When you consider youre running at 70% input, when ads come up you're 30% quiet than ads so someone who has you turned up is in for a rude awakening when ads come on and they start blasting (expecially for headphone users).
@@SoBadStrange Another tip is to make sure your mic is higher than anything else, even if only slightly. I like to watch videos on my second monitor but, if i'm playing the same game and have to crank my volume to hear you, then the things in your game sound like they're coming from mine.

Duos are enough to destroy in the forgotten castle. One good player is enough but 2 usually makes work out of teams that aren't well coordinated. I'd rather not have a dungeon for every number of players. This game is designed with a 3 man team in mind and if you go with less you should be prepared. It seems in poor taste to ask for another lobby just because you don't want to group up. Grouping up with randoms was so easy and it was enjoyable and people were pretty cool. Only a few times I got on teams I hated. I just used the Gathering Hall it was easy. The fights are more entertaining when you have to work as a team or understand how to exploit another team. Also newer players learn more with a team it just makes sense not to split the player base again and again teams are where it's at or learn to play with less.
This is good shit. I don't know how good you are among Dark and Darker's best players, since I'm a total noob, but what I love is your attitude towards wanting to be the best and willingness to do the work. God bless you ❤️
GUYS!!! This shit is too good!!! I am at 10:01 and I am like how this is going to be a 4 hour plus no death run?!? and this is dark and darker - you can strive from the worst of situations AND people around you and this is way we all love this game - it just contains so much real life, emotions and most importantly the decisions of other people.
Loved watching every minute of this, amazing juicy loot, good job, here's small hints I noticed to add even if no one asked xd : -you can drink both 15hp+19hp potions one after another, they do stack with each other and provide quicker regeneration while bandaging or just running. -you can cheese skeleton champion on any stairs u just have to be lower than him, crouch and make sure to block him and spam attacks, he will miss all the attacks on top of you. Honestly looking at how i started playing this game and where I'm at and seeing this, the solo dungeon is amazing but you're right about running in 3 man's take chances and when you're confident just go for pvp. You'll only learn from fighting and observing mistakes, and once you become confident in your pvp you'll extract much more often. Edit: also when I mean confidence I mean stop running when you've got the upper hand. Often you'll see people at full HP potted up and buffed running from teams when they've had no prep, trust in yourself!
It's not wrong to do that you kind of got to gage the type of team you're against if you can tell a team is good just by looking at them running at full health is the right move. You get a sense for those things even though there's no reason you'd be able to tell just by looking at them. Against noob players you can go in with a quarter health and still have an edge.

And everyone is either a hacker or a pro streamer. And theres way too much to worry about like a million types of ammunition and the types of armor and all of this stuff. It's just not fun. But this looks more like my kind of game. Plus fantasy is just more fun.
I think putting the chat up somewhere on the screen would make these vods a lot more entertaining to watch, the chat's reactions are part of what makes streams so great after all. I still had a great time watching though, anyone can see you're amazing at the game and you're a very engaging streamer.

Just noting - may not apply to these speedruns anymore specifically - but it could've been an option to practice the troll fight on a non-perma death character before committing to doing it on a permadeath one where the stakes are much higher. Might be a useful alternative in the future if another difficult mob comes out while you're doing permadeath :p
Hahahaha 100% hawk of the night. I streamed 48h for wipe and I was absolutely delirious and that troll barley noticed me when he one shot headshot me. Plus I woke up the next day and they’d patched and nerfed his damage lol. Into the breach we go!

I’ve had a lot of luck with it solo, the large heal and aoe ability plus cheese spots allow for a fast clears of certain rooms and capable of soloing wraith or champion. Playing circle smart and using campfires well will be the key. Fear will be the slow interaction speed and getting caught at doors. Keep you posted! (Backup attempts will be on rogue)

@@randykeeling1916 barbs are broken...they have the ability to oneshot basically anything and their healthpool allows them to live through something that even well geared fighters die to.. and hes not even that well geared yet. Barb is the most broken class right now besides the dmg on rogues which often most people can kill a rogue at the same time at least. I die more to barbs than any class because even when I am well geared I cna be oneshot easily even as a fighter...yet I have stabbed the fuck outta a barbs head with a long sword and they be like half health with a blue longsword..and I die in one hit...and even with a felling axe or really any axe...I havent killed a barb because they have too much hp and too much dmg. Its even worse in 3v3 with clerics or wizards buffing them.
@LiF Jimbo the problem with shields is they're far too easy to get around the way the hitboxes are set you have to crouch and hope the angels you are covering are enough to block the attack. Shields are a bit of a joke at the moment..
This was fantastic and I watched the whole thing. But I have one question. Why would you froth as much as you did over that big blue 2hander when you used it for like three swings on the Skeletal Warrior and then just used the Felling Axe for the entirety of the playthrough?
Lol if I needed the range or the cleave I had a powerful weapon at my side but at least in goblin caves the felling axe was putting in work. I am about to post my rogue video and in that one I exclusively run Forgotten Castle and the danger is higher but the xp is way higher as well. Pretty sure I could get a 2h lvl 1-20 speedrun.

btw for cave troll the damage he does is 133 on the normal swings (not sure with the scream debuff on though) and about 1000 on overhead 2 handed swing. its possible to live the 1k hit but the devs designed the boss to basically be a 1 shot for most characters. only the melee classes can generally take a hit from him. though good luck if your wearing plate since you will be to slow. which is why some players playing cleric and fighter have decided to do a full blocking strategy against it, instead of dodging the swings (if they are going to wear armor during the fight)
@@yulfine1688 wym? Max hp for barb is like 170 max, let's say 200. To survive a 1000 hit he'd have to have 80% armor reduction which isn't even close to possible even with fighter that has access to the best armor. Idk why u and op think surviving a 1000 hit is casually possible

Do a Nuzlocke challenge. You get 1 of each class and keep playing any class you want, but when a class dies, it’s permanently dead and must be deleted. Til you either run out of classes or beat a certain # of runs (100? Idk.)
Super excited the game is a gem. I'm just sad I have to wait so long for the full release. But I'm glad they aren't releasing a half finished game like every other game developer.
That “franchisca bug” isn’t a bug. The first time you take it, it fills a stack that isn’t full. If you have any stacks that are less than 3 it tops it off first.
The +10 strength after kill is really nice I find you can turn the tables if someone jumps you after a pve kill. Or you finish off what they are killing and then go after them if they run throw axes.
I just cannot see it myself. Even with the fact that you could kill mobs to get the boost. It's still only 4 seconds with that much time you might get to the enemy and land the hit but it doesn't seem anywhere near consistent people are hyping it up like it's a god tier perk. It's not axe proficiency for sure. And I like iron will more than carnage. Maybe I'll try it more as a fourth. The swing time between you and hitting the player you might not have the buff anymore. 10 str is usually 10% flat damage increase.
I disagree around 2:35:00/2:40:00. It is a nerf, full stop. Just because if forces someone to "Play Smarter" doesnt mean that its a buff. That line of thinking makes no sense. Nerfs and Buffs are based on the *numerical values* of the class, not the player. By this logic, buffs to characters can be considered nerfs if the players behind them use them more liberally with less strategy. This line of thinking is completely backwards. If the *numbers* of a class gets decreased, it is a nerf. Period. Mages got *MEGA* nerfed. And I say that because they lost about 40% of their damage. They reduced the splash damage of fireball by *50%* and then decreased every other spell count by one. Meaning that its not just a 50% fireball damage nerf, its actually an *ENTIRE* spell worth of damage that was removed. Every spell that gets removed is DPS that they lose. Chain Lightning to 3 casts only, zap to 5 casts, and Invisibility and Haste *their only LIMITED survival tools* reduced to 4. Meaning they have to buy Campfires in order to get their spells back (because they are forced to meditate after every fight). The player getting better doesnt mean that a classes nerf is a buff.
I am with ya Ray and have asked the devs for solo HR. Its just another way to play and most players would die in the Solo HR before extracting so bring it on! Imagine the gigatroll too.
Im gonna do these permadeath runs when game comes back as well, I think I will have more fun than not, I always keep saving money and undergearing my char, and I don't have fun with that, if I set my mind that if I die byebye I can go all in as u do and that is more fun for me

I’ve had a lot of luck with it solo, the large heal and aoe ability plus cheese spots allow for a fast clears of certain rooms and capable of soloing wraith or champion. Playing circle smart and using campfires well will be the key. Fear will be the slow interaction speed and getting caught at doors. Keep you posted! (Backup attempts will be on rogue)

Dude scary AF. I get slapped around in 1v1 battles and this guy just stage diving teams after hearing other teams nearby. Madman.

@@anypotato7610 No need to be like that. Barbarian is strong but gets punked in scenarios that don't favor them. He played the class well consistently.
@@randykeeling1916 barbs are broken...they have the ability to oneshot basically anything and their healthpool allows them to live through something that even well geared fighters die to.. and hes not even that well geared yet.
Barb is the most broken class right now besides the dmg on rogues which often most people can kill a rogue at the same time at least. I die more to barbs than any class because even when I am well geared I cna be oneshot easily even as a fighter...yet I have stabbed the fuck outta a barbs head with a long sword and they be like half health with a blue longsword..and I die in one hit...and even with a felling axe or really any axe...I havent killed a barb because they have too much hp and too much dmg. Its even worse in 3v3 with clerics or wizards buffing them.

@LiF Jimbo the problem with shields is they're far too easy to get around the way the hitboxes are set you have to crouch and hope the angels you are covering are enough to block the attack.
Shields are a bit of a joke at the moment..

This was fantastic and I watched the whole thing. But I have one question. Why would you froth as much as you did over that big blue 2hander when you used it for like three swings on the Skeletal Warrior and then just used the Felling Axe for the entirety of the playthrough?
Lol if I needed the range or the cleave I had a powerful weapon at my side but at least in goblin caves the felling axe was putting in work. I am about to post my rogue video and in that one I exclusively run Forgotten Castle and the danger is higher but the xp is way higher as well.
Pretty sure I could get a 2h lvl 1-20 speedrun.

btw for cave troll the damage he does is 133 on the normal swings (not sure with the scream debuff on though) and about 1000 on overhead 2 handed swing. its possible to live the 1k hit but the devs designed the boss to basically be a 1 shot for most characters. only the melee classes can generally take a hit from him. though good luck if your wearing plate since you will be to slow. which is why some players playing cleric and fighter have decided to do a full blocking strategy against it, instead of dodging the swings (if they are going to wear armor during the fight)

@@yulfine1688 wym? Max hp for barb is like 170 max, let's say 200. To survive a 1000 hit he'd have to have 80% armor reduction which isn't even close to possible even with fighter that has access to the best armor. Idk why u and op think surviving a 1000 hit is casually possible

Do a Nuzlocke challenge. You get 1 of each class and keep playing any class you want, but when a class dies, it’s permanently dead and must be deleted. Til you either run out of classes or beat a certain # of runs (100? Idk.)

That “franchisca bug” isn’t a bug. The first time you take it, it fills a stack that isn’t full. If you have any stacks that are less than 3 it tops it off first.
The +10 strength after kill is really nice I find you can turn the tables if someone jumps you after a pve kill. Or you finish off what they are killing and then go after them if they run throw axes.
I just cannot see it myself. Even with the fact that you could kill mobs to get the boost. It's still only 4 seconds with that much time you might get to the enemy and land the hit but it doesn't seem anywhere near consistent people are hyping it up like it's a god tier perk. It's not axe proficiency for sure. And I like iron will more than carnage. Maybe I'll try it more as a fourth.
The swing time between you and hitting the player you might not have the buff anymore. 10 str is usually 10% flat damage increase.
I disagree around 2:35:00/2:40:00. It is a nerf, full stop. Just because if forces someone to "Play Smarter" doesnt mean that its a buff. That line of thinking makes no sense. Nerfs and Buffs are based on the *numerical values* of the class, not the player. By this logic, buffs to characters can be considered nerfs if the players behind them use them more liberally with less strategy. This line of thinking is completely backwards.
If the *numbers* of a class gets decreased, it is a nerf. Period. Mages got *MEGA* nerfed. And I say that because they lost about 40% of their damage.
They reduced the splash damage of fireball by *50%* and then decreased every other spell count by one. Meaning that its not just a 50% fireball damage nerf, its actually an *ENTIRE* spell worth of damage that was removed.
Every spell that gets removed is DPS that they lose. Chain Lightning to 3 casts only, zap to 5 casts, and Invisibility and Haste *their only LIMITED survival tools* reduced to 4. Meaning they have to buy Campfires in order to get their spells back (because they are forced to meditate after every fight).
The player getting better doesnt mean that a classes nerf is a buff.

I am with ya Ray and have asked the devs for solo HR. Its just another way to play and most players would die in the Solo HR before extracting so bring it on! Imagine the gigatroll too.

dude i solo'd on the playtest up till lvl 20 on barb, fuckin loved it, its such a good class, but rogues are my kryptonite. do you use VoIP? running into you would be hilarious
Hahahha on permadeath as part of the rules I cannot use voip but I voip myself to death constantly otherwise. I meme on stream 90% of the time and try and befriend every single squad no matter how good my gear is 😂🥳
pro tip for speedruns though. especially if you invented a run don't allow for pauses as a rule. So then nobody accidentally forget to unpause haha
