Some people say that New Testament speaks only about corporate singing hymns and psalms, voices only, and not about playing any instruments. And i usually refer them to psalms commending to worship on instruments as well. But they say it was in Old Testament and not for us today. What are your thoughts on that? Thank you!
There are instruments in heaven that are mentioned. But in general, it depends on the approach people take to the Bible regarding non-doctrinal issues (practical, methodological, etc). Some say you can ONLY do it if the Bible prescribes it; others say you can do is UNLESS the Bible forbids it. The history of Christianity shows how the church always adapted creatively to its cultural context to reclaim all cultures (including the arts!) for Jesus.
@ thank you! I am all for creativity and arts, and personally dont think anything wrong with musical instruments in worship. If thats ok, i will copy and paste your answer to that person, and put it as a quote with your name. Thanks again! Blessings! 🙏🙌
I don't remember this being talked about in any of the previous services. Numerous people showed up at church, including me, not knowing that it had been moved to online only.
Love this - the last service of the year on worship: Live this coming year with a renewed focus in worship!
so thankful for Todd... his years of the doing, trying, failing, writing, seeking, collaborating, learning, expanding and sharing his wisdom
What was that stunning song Anna sang? Beautiful lyrics and incredible voice.
