The fines on legitimate wildlife violations are never costly enough. $135 for taking game illegally? Should be at least twice the price of a non-resident tag.

i think the need for regulation stems from the fact that modern technology makes the task of taking an animal very easy, and an over zealous public may have the proclivity to over hunt for selfish reasons which would have an unprecedented impact on the local population of game animals.
All wildlife is owned equally by the residents of each state. You have zero extra rights, or less rights, to use them as anyone else. Wildlife is held in trust by the state for our use, unfortunately there isn’t enough for everyone to feed themselves on a limited resource….

You really covered multiple topics in your answer.. Why don't you just go ahead and say with all the government programs you don't need to kill the deer or elk for food. the government will take care of it for you.... That thought is what's wrong with the game department amongst many other things. Ultimately, God made those animals for humans to eat, unfortunately the government wants us to be processed food that's killing us! How many people do you know are diabetics? You don't get that by eating game meat! We all have a right to eat healthy food, not a privilege the government bureaucrats that we didn't even elect; decides who gets and who doesn't. -- CAN YOU COMPREHEND THAT?

I think if you make an honest mistake and your grandpa is with you and he has a cow tag he should have the option of tagging it and it being a legal kill. Wardens should be able to use discretion in situations like this and yes I get that's a slippery slope and exceptions shouldn't be a rule.
