Video breezes right over the fact that the hitch locking pin is a HUGE pain to insert/lock. 1UP provides a special 90-degree lock upon request if you tell them it’s for a Tesla. Still a massive pain either way. Honestly very concerning the video never talks about this or even inserts one. This is NOT how these racks are intended to be used. You should always have a locking pin inserted in the hitch receiver - ALWAYS. The security Allen comes loose with road vibrations and needs to be adjusted/checked every time you use it. We also bought the hitch extender for our Model Y Performance which made it much easier to use and gave more clearance between the rack and the rear hatch.
It doesn’t affect it much while it’s down. I’m liking the ease of loading and unloading the bikes! Installing the lock is a bit of a pain but overall it’s been great!
Good video man, was thinking of picking one up, no pun intended
Glad you enjoyed the video! U will like it
Were you ever able to install the hitch lock?!! 😂
Yes it’s a little bit of a pain but got it
Do you secure the rack to the hitch with a locking pin from 1UP?
Great question! Yes, you have to request it from 1Up
I have one, but does if fit within the cramped space, and do you have room to lock it? Thanks.@@Gadgeteverything

How does the rack/bikes affect the back up camera and sensors? How are you liking the rack now that you have had it for a while? Thanks!

Curt makes a shorter pin where the lock engages sideways, giving you much more room to lock/unlock. Eazy peezy
Security is definitely a concern, do all the 1up racks use the same key?
They have locks to prevent thief. I need to make video of it
😴 *promo sm*
Huh?
Jeeze after watching that I'll pass.
This was my first time putting it on. I took my sweet time. It’s much quicker now.
