What is important about rental unit? Location, location and location. I used to live in Toronto, downtown and loved the area. Then I lived in nice district of Zurich and now in small town. I am not a small town person. Being forced to plan my groceries is not fun. I know it's budget wise but I don't like it. Everyhing is far away but by walking 20-30 minutes I have my daily physical activity as no exercise will ever work as I hate sports in all forms and never ever for a single second I felt good after exercise. Living in a place with bus every 30 minutes is tough but doable. I guess it goes down to a budget. Bed bugs are a problem in Toronto, there are websites to check if there are any. I think distance to a supermarket can be compromise. Quality of a building and safety cannot be.

I agree, I 'd rather have a unit a bit further away from a supermarket but without bed bugs. Zurich sounds beautiful!

@@LivinginCanada Zurich is expensive but wonderful city to live. Currently living in a small, Swiss town, I need to plan my bus rides and grocery shopping better but it's doable. The rental market in Toronto is crazy, it's full of scams and even genuine offers are often showing professionally staged, model suites whereas the reality is different. What is also important, and available in Zillow, is walkability score, transit score and bikeability score. Car dependence can be very expensive.

Hello.. your channel has been really helpful in our planning to move to Canada.
I'd like to ask you though.. how easy can one get a 2bed apartment with 2 baths and washroom that is not a basement. Thanks

Thank you! I wouldn’t say it’s difficult, apartments are available all the time. I’d say the rent is easily 2,000-3,000/mth for a 2-bedroom depending on area… but there are deals sometimes. If you’re looking for something with 2 baths perhaps you could look into renting a house. I’ve seen houses rented in the mid 2,000s. Good luck!
