O'Rorke is such a compassionate man. Too bad for the women and children of Texas.

Why, why, why is Beto such a loser? From here on the west coast of OR, he seems like s reasonable guy…and as you say, compassionate. I don’t understand: How could he lose by 10 points after the current Gov. let people freeze to death last winter, after Uvalde, and after going along with the DeSantis stunt with those legal (they were here legally, awaiting their asylum hearings, right?) undocumented folks? I find myself wondering how much did it cost DeSantis to rent those non-citizens from the TX Governor? Clearly, I don’t get it…and my family is from Texas!

It sucks that Beto lost. I can’t believe the people in Uvalde voted for Abbott. I can’t believe this state. It’s becoming a twin to Florida. It sucks. Trying to move soon.

We’re all blue out here in presidio county population under 10000 😊😊 - we were newsworthy during the early days of covid vaccs - we had the highest % of vaccinated in all of tx - there’s still hope growing in your tx desert ❤s - believe me I have moments of running elsewhere - cost of living is a bit insane in the all blue states tho 😵‍💫😵‍💫

I was born and raised in Texas. Those folks would NEVER admit they’re wrong. About anything. Just not gonna happen.

My daughter and family lives in Texas. I had hoped to move nearer to them but with the results of this election, I will resist moving there. As a former politician said/used the word deplorable. I think that must pretty well describe Texas and Republican voters.

It's an uphill battle for Reason and Logic in Texas.
Voter engagement and suppression also an issue.

I lived in Florida for 2 seconds, passed hundreds of moving vans headed south on I95 as I headed back north. Wanted to yell to them turn back but they’ll figure it out.

Huge disappointment 😢 I was a Republican but I couldn’t do it anymore, voted BLUE. Beto really had some great ideas and Texas has so many woes in terms of women and children. Sad day 😢

A great many of us voted for Beto in Texas. He came so close here. I think next time he should run for President. I’m sure the entire country would appreciate him even if Texans don’t seem to know what we have in him. He’s a politician with integrity: I hope he goes far even if he didn’t unseat Abbott.

Love all your interviews Katie! I've been living in Vienna for the past few years and really appreciate the snapshots of some of the more baffling races. It's difficult to determine who is giving an honest representation of what's going on in America these days, so I really do enjoy your frank and upfront questions and comments. More of the same would be great!

Too much area in Texas, not enuf population density to open minds. Too many rural voters and too much gerrymandering. I am in San Antonio. I am always frustrated . Got used to it... not that i really know what i am talking about. Just glad I am in a city.

Biden should bring Beto into a position within the administration. Such a genuine and compassionate man - there has to be a position for him that would be great with his energy and dynamics. Just my thoughts here.

Texas possess critical thinking skills, we chose Abbott,. So stay out of our business and our state. Beto has lost 3 times in Texas, you can have him.
