Trevor is his name before he took on the name of Alucard. alsoooo it kinda explains that WAAAAY in the beginning of this game with the prologue that's read out like a book.

I see a lot of people angry about Victor dying, but I don't think his death is meaningless. Victor had used his own death as a leverage, a bargain and a finale. The Belmonts were the champion of mankind against evil, but they knew they were forever shadowed by the fact that Dracula is their ancestors, and it was a family shame they had to wipe out. I don't want to think how many Belmonts Dracula had to kill before Alucard came up with the master plan. They had been preparing all these years for Dracula's return, and Victor was the epitome of their accumulated efforts and limits. Victor understood that the Belmonts were no match for Dracula's powers when was defeated, but at the same time, he saw hope as well. One the one hand, he had Satan's acolytes to deal with, which he knew he stood no chance against; on the other hand, he had the feared Dragon who no longer seemed interested in hunting down humanity. At that moment, Victor and Alucard had drew up the same conclusion --- to use Dracula to defeat the acolytes and Satan. Using his life as a bargain chip, he freed Dracula and his blood line from their destiny, and appealed to Dracula's humanity."You are the last Belmont"--- meant it was now Dracula's duty to save humanity. A very clever step for Victor.

This thing makes me think of what " the beast" might look like from Vampire the Masquerade. Every vampires inner savage, ravenous monster that hungers for blood and carnage.

there's a logical fallacy within the inner Dracula's statement though.
if inner dracula cannot be destroyed by dracula, and inner dracula and dracula are one, then dracula cannot be destroyed by inner dracula either, making the entire fight pointless.

The should’ve made the Inner Dracula as the final villain instead of the lackluster and underutilized Satan.
It always bugged me how they just killed off victor like that no last stand no awesome battle nothing just lets himself be impaled like a bad Dante cosplay and dies if he had somehow survived Gabriel could have passed on the vampire killer to him and we could have gotten a possible third game or something idk just a waste of a cold character he could have even died sacrificing himself against Satan I would have been more okay with that at least
i remember this game for being fun and it looks so pretty. my last progress was getting that power to turn into rats or something. i forgot.
some last gen games are definitely not equal in terms of graphics. some of them are just more beautiful.
Well that sacrifice was pretty useless. The moment the shadow appeared they could have gone for it. Or at least the person could try to lure it further back so they could deal with it together.
I suppose this wasn't the acolyte in his full power. So going after the shadow would have saved victor but they would have lost the element of surprise.

Robert Carlyle, Patrick Stewart, even Richard Madden is arguably a pretty big name. Damn right the voice acting was going to be awesome.
(Mostly Robert Carlyle though. He's so *damn* good.)

You would think at the end Satan would transform into a huge Red Devil with horns.
Well the reason he doesn't is because the devil with horns and such is not biblically canon. As that form comes from paradise lost. Which was basically a story made about Satan's fall.
That animation at the beginning though the blood was...something
I really liked this game, sure the stealth sections were a bit underwhelming, but everything else was fun, I really think that if they would update the game to remove those parts, it would elevate the experience a lot, this is truly an underrated game.
Yooo, some people like me actually loved the stealth parts, in fact they only made the game more enjoyable than just being another God of war style hack and slash game....

Yeah, his true identity is no secret to the Belmonts. They are his family after all.
Of course. Belmonts would know Dracula for who he truly was.
Simon didn't know. And it's never explained how or if he found out later or if anyone did. The only Belmont who knew was originally Trevor
@@SomeAngryGuy1997 Simon found out when he realized that Alucard was his father Trevor. Given that Alucard was Dracula's son, which Simon also learned during the final battle, he realized that he was related to Dracula too. The Brotherhood seeked out Simon's descendants to lead them later on, and since they knew all along about the origin of the Belmont bloodline, the subsequent Belmonts clearly must have not been kept in the dark about their origin.

All Dracula needed was the mirror shard from Victor. His death was in vein.
He also needed the acolyte to reveal himself, which wouldn't have happened if Victor didn't choose to sacrifice himself in order to lure him out.
Dammit. Victor B. looks so badass :DDDD obviously there was a DLC planned for his character but since Konami went pussy and greedy it got cancelled.
Also because the workers from developer MercurySteam were quitting during the development

LOS dev team wanted to make this lIke God of War so bad. they failed by adding a ton of shitty, boring, ridiculous, long winded nonsensical puzzles between the action. Like everytime the game might get fun it gets bogged down with bullshit. It is so bad that you could buy your way out of puzzles. something i have never seen in gaming before. Then they even had an easy mode for the QTE. This is why the series flopped and Castlevania may be dead or at least for many years
RayValdezPhotography got it so, you didnt like puzzles in your action games. I liked it because for me not every game must be a life challenge but a way to have fun for some time. Respect your point of view and I guess thats the reason some people just go for multiplayer games instead of games with engaging story telling. For me it was great. I loved this game so much but still i wanted to fight with more enemies, combat system and the story in this game is just something else and usually I don't like play as male character but only in this game is fucking worth it.. like the experience in this game a true masterpiece!! 👅🌟

This is the story of dracula before he became the lord of the castle
This is a different timeline altogether.
In the main timeline, Dracula is not a Belmont, but a friend of the first Belmont to wield the Vampire Killer. This man, Mathias Cronqvist turned against God after finding out his wife passed out due to disease while he was crusading in His name. He became immortal as a way to rebel against God and all that.
Lords of Shadow is a different story, here, Dracula is Gabriel Belmont, who turned into a bitter and hateful vampire after defeating Satan and being left alone on Earth as his wife was dead (he killed her while controlled by a magical mask).

It literally looks like both costumes were mismashed together or the skins are colliding. I'm not so sure about it being a hard mode reward, looks like you game's graphics are bugged or something.

luiz philipe DMC 5 will be great, but it is not in the league of Lords of Shadows or Ninja Gaiden.
Alberto González the new God of War, Nioh, and many other games would like to have a word with you. That aside, this game isn’t that good. And don’t really see how you could say DMC5 won’t be as good as this, when it’ll likely be better. Ninja Gaiden I can maybe understand though.

Alberto González I don’t think you’d be saying that if you knew the production disaster behind this game. DMC3 and DMC1 are still heavily revered by action adventure/hack n slash game fans for solids reasons after all. This game had plenty potential but fell on its face. The only thing this game arguably beats DMC at is story. That’s it. It’s not about comparing rice to beans. DMC overall just has more appeal.

I'm having the same issue here not recalling this at all.
If you breezed through the fight you'd prob forget it. BUT it is very PLOT heavy, you cant skip it. You have to unlock all the mirror shards inorder to progress the story. If anything you probably skipped the cutscene with the big entrance of Gabriel's inner demon facing off against him. I mean the 'inner demon' showing himself in the cutscene and rarely in the fight did happen with me. I smacked him alot and he liked to hide in that giant body and popped out a few times. I knew how to kill him tho so I didnt worry too much.
But yea you cannot skip this fight. (Unless you got a bugged version of the game or did it so long ago some parts are barely memorable. )
