Excellent craftsmanship! Something to consider if you do any other basement floors - use foam board on top of the concrete basement floor before laying the LVP. I did this when I finished my basement. This helps make up for any unevenness in the concrete, deadens the sound from stomping kids and seems to keep the floor from being as cold on bare feet.
I do wish I did a couple things differently and one thing would be to have an insulated floor. The worse part of using the room in the winter is the cold floor. Live and learn!
Biggest thing you could do to improve your next project is take a little extra time to do random length cuts on the lvt and drywall. Drywall would add much more structural integrity and be easier to mud, and the flooring would look 10x better than having seems line up every other row. Love to see people doing diy though and working for themselves instead of hiring out, keep it up.
To each his own, seems like you walk laps around me in all things mechanical, don't let me talk down on what flooring patterns you like haha. Take care good luck to you. @@streetriderscustoms
Where did you learn to do this all by yourself? How much do you spend on tools? I’m a new homeowner, and there are so many projects I’d love to take on DIY. I’ve done lots of little things like changing faucets, sinks, vanity , lighting…. But nothing big. I have an unfinished basement and would to take that on slowly step by step, but I just know if it is something I’ll ever be able to accomplish on my own
I would use the 2" rigid foam on the cement and then do the Rockwood just like I did in the video. It's not about how hot and cold it gets, it's about keeping the room from drastic temp changes where mold and mildew will form
How did you find the soujd proofing to work? Im in the exact same stages finishing mine, wondering if i should do more or less, i have a 7.2.4 atmos setup going in as well!
I wasn't trying to sound proof too much, just have a lot of insulation, but it turned out to work really well. With the dual 18" mini Marty's you can definitely feel bass rumble in the house but it is not overwhelming at all
@@streetriderscustoms oh great to hear! I'm gonna do some vibration channel as well, it's tough to get rid of the racing scene from ready player one all to together but limiting is the key 👍🏼
Excellent work, congratulations. Did you use any water or humidity barrier for the bare walls and floor before installing floor and insulation? Was it easy to frame with wood (I am thinking of using metal)?
The insulation with the tape is the barrier. The flooring is 100 percent waterproof so I did not do anything on the floor. Framing with the wood was easy. I thought about metal but I've always worked with wood so that's what I went with
You make me tired just watching all that work being done especially when i've bought a house that needs to have all the basement finished and I'm turning 84 soon. Oh well. What the H.
love the bookshelf door!
Thank you!
So impressive man! Great work. I’m sure you take tremendous pride in this!
Thank you! It turned out way better than I thought!
NO YOU LEFT THE CAT IN THE SECRET ROOM
He is very excited when he gets on to the other side of that door!

Do it alone that amazing hard working man 💪
It was well worth the effort it took me
Impressive & Looks great! JACK of All Trades!
Thank you! I am very happy with the way it came out.
WOw This look Great!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, it took a lot of time and hard work to get it done!
Tremendous accomplishment sir! 😊💥
Thank you!
Awesome job man. That thing is immaculate. And you save 10k on labor.
Thank you! I probably wouldn't have been able to do it if I was paying!
Floors cost 10k to get installed?😮
wow!!!!! incredible!!!!!!! beautiful!!!!!!
Thank you

I could and should have done the drywall differently, but I wanted the floor to have the pattern. Thanks for watching

Should have staggered your floor planks. All in all great work man
They are staggered.
@@streetriderscustoms it's not in a random pattern. You can see a pattern unfortunately.
Awesome work wowwwww 😊
Thanks ✌️
Great job🎉
Thank you!
Awesome work!
Thank you!!
I like the blue colour!
Thank you!

Man just locked the cat in the secret room
What kind of basement wall insulation would you use in southern climate? The coldest basement temp has been 52 degrees and hottest has been 72.
I would use the 2" rigid foam on the cement and then do the Rockwood just like I did in the video. It's not about how hot and cold it gets, it's about keeping the room from drastic temp changes where mold and mildew will form
Nicely done. Why no metal plates on the studs to protect the wires?
Not sure. Probably just because I am a novice and didn't think I needed them

Looks really nice, but those stairs sure do seem to have gotten pretty narrow with finishing of the outside wall
They might be a tiny bit small but really are not bad in person
You need to round it out with a card table and a small wet cabinet area with a small fridge in that open corner. Otherwise, perfect.
We have an air hockey table down there. The plan was to put a small fridge and cabinets/shelfs in the corner.

That's bad ass man! I know you said a year but, how many hours do you think it took you while you were down there working?
Honestly I have no idea. I never kept track of it. It was a lot, but it was worth it
Bro’s got his basement on ground level 💀
Nice work man! I'm almost finished with my basement renovation as well (started a year ago). Question, why did you use two different types of drywall?
One color is from Lowes and one is from Home Depot. They are both the mold resistant style of sheetrock
How much was the final cost ?
Doing it myself with all of the labor free and just buying materials I am guessing under $5,000 but I did not keep track
What is tha name and brand of the paint color?
Any reason you didn’t stagger ceiling? Has it been ok?
I would like to install like you did, but I’m hearing a stagger is needed
I just did it that way because I am not a sheetrocker. I have heard it's better to stagger also
@@streetriderscustoms thanks! Any issues with cracks or seams?
@@ebayashes857 There is a hairline crack on the seam that runs the long way. The other ones are good. Live and learn!
Did you not use tape on the drywall ?
Yes I did. It might not have been in the video but I used the mesh tape
What would you estimate the cost was for this?
Probably under $5,000 to finish it off
What city are you out of?
I live in Massachusetts
that cat ever make it out the secret room?
Im still looking for him!

Did you finish the basement?
Nanu, ich sehe ja keinen Ofen, Kamin oder Heizkörper..........?
I have a mini split for that room
