that is a tough call to make you have only about 2 or 3 tenths of a second between the time the defender gets there and the shooter goes airborne. I think he gets there right before the shooter goes airborne, and is therefore a charge, by rule. However, Lead official is still moving across the paint when the shooter makes contact with the defender, and old C is already backing out to become Trail before Lead completes rotation. Old C/new trail needs to stay engaged and not back out, and have the primary whistle.
Coach B says he hates seeing the game get decided on that call.... The game was not decided on that call as much as it was decided on you getting Tech Fouls that buried any chances of your team still winning the game after that.
@@carolinewall3678 : Whether it was a "bad" call or not is a matter of opinion. Questionable and "bad" calls happen all the time in college hoops. It doesn't excuse Coach B's mindless tantrum, that hurt his team's chances. Look, I am a Cuse grad and fan for like 30+ years, and a big fan of Coach B. None the less, there is never an excuse for Coach B, or any other coach, to put their own need to go into extreme vent mode, over the welfare of the team and game. We all understand that we can be ticked off by what we perceive to be a wrong call sometimes, but you have to show some measure of self-control there. Making excuses for his bad behavior there makes totally no sense at all. He f*cked up. Period. Saying the T's don't happen without the "bad" call, is like saying John Doe wouldn't have robbed the bank, if the bank teller hadn't left the safe door unlocked. Wrong is wrong. Lol no, even without the Ts duke likely makes both free throws and then cuse has to overcome a 4 pt deficit in about 8-9 seconds. Once they made the terrible charge call, it was essentially over
What does that even mean? Did that same play happen in the dome at some point and they got the call? It was just a bad call which fucked them over in this game even without the tech lol
1st of all, I'm not a Duke fan. But I'm tired of Boeheim's schtick! He was still pissed from the night before when his kid threw a cheap shot at FSU and got what he deserved. A complete punk move. G'bye guys, have a nice summer.
It was a charge. Rodney Hood was there for the charge. He was outside the Restricted Arc and he was set and had legal guarding position. Therefore a Charge!
@@bcoughlin10 As long as he has Legal Guard Position which is Shoulders Squared to the Defender and he does, he can move any which way except for up and down and it be a charge.
It could've been a block because Hood quick shuffled to the right after Fair already committed to going up, which is what Boeheim explains. I don't fault the ref for missing the subtlety of that, but always thought Fair turned his body at the end there just enough to avoid the charge call.
Love Coach B, and I know that coaches get emotional all the time, but yeah, a coach has gotta have more self-control in that situation. You aren't going to change the call by getting out there on the court and yelling at the refs. All you are likely to do is get a Tech Foul and put your team in a worse situation. Coaches yell at their players for making mental errors by getting into shoving matching with the other team. A coach getting a silly Tech Foul is just as bad if not worse.
Fair was a beast
Cuse and Duke have played some really great games.
Welcome to Cameron . We saw one of those bullshit whistles against clemson last night that decided the game
I was at that game too. That call was fair and you know it! I'm still enjoying your salty tears though. 😂
The last bastion of SportsCenter fell when that ticker did
Duke always gets biased calls in their favor. I am never sure why they get the same treatment as a favored NBA team like the Lakers
ESPN loves Duke and the Lakers. Red Sox and Nationals in baseball. Patriots too.
FACTS
Lol you act like home teams all over the country don't get calls that favor them at home either. You just love to hate!

Right call, Boeheim is wrong
That was a bad call.
i hate duke but i mean it was a charge the only reason it wouldn’t be a charge was if he was on the restricted line or didn’t have his feet set
That’s classic Jim Boeheim for u getting mad at a clear charge
He had every right to scream it was the wrong call

The T’s don’t happen without the bad charge call casual

Boehiem is a liar!! He got grown out regular season 2011 or 2012 against Duke in the Carrier Dome! I was there and saw the whole thing!!
That was a great PCF call and I can't stand Duke.
When played, it was fasho a block
Still an awful call that of course went to Dook.
And you know the mechanics of basketball officiating????
The game was decided on your Ts not the referee! Roger Chase
The T’s came from the bad call 😐

That's a block
The refs have always favored Duke especially at home. All their players look to take charges and the refs eat it up.
Asshole neither team was at home!! It was a neutral site game! You hatred is showing without facts!!!!

Best comment yet!!!
He says not to laugh and then wants them to. Just shut up Boeheim.
Ralphie Man shut the fuck up. That’s because he likes to joke around but he was trying to be serious and talk about the game

Fouls in basketball are always ridiculous. Any contact..."foul"...makes watching it painful to do.
Best tantrum ever but worse call in the process.
He's turning into Joe Paterno!
The new rule is that it's clearly a char..I mean block. Yeah it was a block.
BLOWheim.....he cost them a game most likely..how funny is that to his team?
