This is exactly what I was looking for. I’m wondering though, if you could substitute a large grain sand or pea gravel for the lava rock if you can’t find it.

Quick suggestion, go to a thrift store or yard sale and find an old food processor to chop up your orchid bark.

Charcoal is best for springtails :)

@@ljshome3247 Sorry, I'm confused You mean that charcoal from outside is safe? Yes, as long as you washed it properly before using it. I kept my enclosure closed and placed it outside my house in a cool place. Sorry if my understanding is incorrect :(

1 Part Vermicast
1/2 Part Cocopeat
1/2 Part Dry Sphagnum Moss
1/4 Part Orchid Bark
1/4 Charcoal
1/4 Part fine grain of Lava Rock
Now I am using:
1 vermicast
1 part Coco fiber
1 part spagnum moss
1/4 part orchidbark
1/4 charcoal
Almost identical ingredients, but with a different quantity!
