Tom, you did us fucking proud boy. You made Architects what they are today and the metal community will love you forever because of it. Rest in peace my friend
+Jonathan Ebling Dude totally!! I was thinking the same thing. You can actually feel his confidence and passion grow from album to album. That's incredibly rare...
looking back at photos and stuff off Tom now knowing he had cancer changes a lot like for example I think here he is very skinny and looks a bit ill although when I first watched this video I never quite noticed Tom you were an amaizing guitarist and songwriter and will be missed
same :( I've been watching like everything Architects ever since I found out and I just sit there and realize how crazy it was that he was fighting cancer behind closed doors the past 3 years in these studio videos and I'm assuming through the Lost Forever record :(
I remember reading a comment where some said “Tom looks really I’ll” and architects actually replied saying he was on a juice cleanse. But it all does make sense these days. What a guitarist.
according to Mary Z. he´s a Tenor, and i also find that very interesting (source:) ruclips.net/video/y3oXdePYccE/видео.html&ab_channel=VoiceHacks From his talking voice i´d say he is not. I can´t find an explanation for this. But i thought i´d point that out. 5 years after your initial comment. ;)
@@tobintwinsmusic No, that's because he's a singer, he has perfected the voice to achieve perfect compression, and that resoults on a lower-pitched voice
R.I.P. Tom. Incredible love and respect for this band. I just discovered them about 4 months ago. I literally just found out about Tom passing last night. I went into tears. Am now. This band has changed my life. I love you guys and my heart goes out to you all and all the other fans that have tremendous love for this band.
Band from my home town fuck yea amazing to see them doing so well can't wait for their next album Bonus: I once met sam carters mum volunteering, she's a milf
+Blazed-Banana back in 2006 my band played a show with Architects in Belgium, still with their old singer. I remember sitting backstage, they're playing Nintendo DS (lol) and talking about wether they should continue school and get a degree or say fuck it and go all in for the band. Turned out for the best I guess since a few months later Ruin came out and the rest is history :)
I remember seeing this video before Tom passed and thinking to myself how sickly he looked. At the time I didn't know he was facing cancer. I had a feeling he was sick because of how he looked. It really upset me that I was right in thinking something was wrong with his health.
From the little I've heard, this album sounds fucking ridiculous. The song(s), emotion and production just sounds so on point. The sheer tone and energy is truly fucking amazing. Well done guys, been following you and seeing you at shows for ages. Can't wait. This is honestly what I imagine the apocalypse would sound like.
when i return to this video.. and the others, it reminds me how much tom inspired me in a musical and human way. the way he speaks. the way of seeing things in life. he is'nt gone... actually he never left. i'd like to see it tin that way. i meditate a lot and i always trying to get the energy tom had. i and we and you brother, band family, fans and friends. we miss you everyday.
I am really looking forward to this album. Lost Forever is one of the best albums I have ever heard!!! And the production on it was just mind blowing. The tone of the guitars was just savage!
So stoked you guys went back to Sweden for this one. Frederik's drum sound is my favourite in the world. It sounds like any drummer he records is performing in a stadium!
Thanks man, means a lot! And good idea, I kinda always wanted to make one of Devil's Island - great energy and groove. Let's see when the new album is out :)
It is really awesome how Tom achieve that tone with a low tuning in a 6 string, don't get me wrong, i think in this album some songs are in Drop F#, so it is pretty amazing.
I'm assuming Tom was using a baritone guitar, as well. The neck's got a 27" scale length (as opposed to something like 25.5"), and that coupled with a nice thick set of strings can make you hit notes almost a full octave lower than a standard 6-string guitar. I'm pretty sure Dave Young in the Devin Townsend project does something similar, actually. For some of the really low tuned stuff, he's playing a six string.

I comented 4 months ago asking if Tom's alright because I knew he was ill before and he looked unwell to me in this vid. I never wanted to be more wrong than now.. R.I.P. Legend
Can`t wait for the architects album since every album they release is amazing from Lost Forever // Lost Together to Hollow Crown. this band cant do no wrong
I started getting into Architects right as Daybreaker was coming out. To be honest, it was one of those situations where I feared having caught up a second too late- in the sense that I was getting on board with the band as they were peaking. I mean... how could they top Daybreaker? Then Lost Forever // Lost Together came out and they right shut me up. I felt it was another step forward. Now, I'm listening and checking out "All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us" and realize that these guys are on a path that will keep developing. I trust them, now. There is no looking back. Not only are they consistent, but they keep moving forward, pushing their sound. They steered clear of repetition while continually improving their sound. This, as many will vouch, is incredibly rare. Not only in Metal, but in the music industry altogether!
I hope this record will hit me like Daybreaker. That album was your best to date. For the sole reason that the album sounded varied, broad and every song was memorable.
Maaaaan I can't wait for this album!!Best album of this year for sure :) Only thing that bothers me is when I saw Tom on this vid he looks ill to me...hope he's okay!
The best metalcore band ever...
Debatable but they’re up there
@@iLurid_ I think when it comes to emotion it isn't
They are not Metalcore...is very unique tho, cannot define the genre, is very djenty, not that complex, melodic
@@ericvalverderosado2046 actually they ARE metalcore... personally love them, but Bury Tomorrow are unbeatable in my opinion
