I’m a fan of mods , I installed a set of Monty’s Bethnal greens and their 50s loom into my 19 Traditional LP , changed the guitar completely, for better. I got the neck shaved to a 60s profile , a bone nut , gotoh tuners and a faber bridge .

That will be an interesting project to follow!
Great Peter Green / Eric Clapton vibe with the Alan Dingwall pickups 👍

I upgraded 2 USA Standards with Faber parts ( I wanted abr bridges that looked the part rather than the Nashville bridges that were on there). They look great but they also improved the tone. Very pleased.

Hi Ramon, just thought I would comment on mods done to Les Pauls. I have several Les Pauls. I did all of these things like getting Faber bridges , tail pieces, bone nut, and refretting one of them and even bought Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates pickups and Antiquity pickups. And after all was said and done ,I came to my own conclusion that all of this expense did not hurt the sound, that's for sure. But that being said, I didn't notice any night and day differences in going into all of this expense. I don't regret doing it but it wasn't any game changer for me. I know a,lot if people all swear by these improvements but I wasn't bowled over at all. I even have some Tom Holmes pickups that I bought from him personally when they were only $250.00 usd a set. This was before anyone knew about him. I put these humbuckers in my Gibson Lucille guitar and they honestly don't sound any different to my ears than Throbaks or any other high end pickup. But let me end this by saying that it's the guitar amps that I have that matter most.. that's really where it separates everything. I have a HRM Ceriatone and his Bluesbreaker amp. I also have my Vox AC30BM. Completely rebuilt and wired according to David Petersen's original schematic of who I became friends with. He has lived in the Philippines with his wife since 2007 I believe. He ran ShereSound Vox amps and designed the first Brian May amp and with Greg Fryer in Australia. I own a Fender Bandmaster 1965 abd Fender Blues Deville from 1993. I also own a very old Mesa Boogie Tremoverb that had been modded by Voodoo Amps in New York from 1995 and a Mesa Boogie Revolver rotating Leslie invented by a fellow Canadian from Victoria, British Columbia. So yes, I have more amps than I even really need or want but they are all fairly high quality amps. I think Amplified Nation in Massachusetts is a phenomenal amp company. Definitely makes a difference more than the guitar is a great amp. I have a Fender Tele Custom from Japan for $1200.00 USD. It's very nice and two strats from Fender and CF Martin D-41custom made by order. Gibson Les Paul Custom black beauty. Bit it really is more I believe about the amp. People spend way too much on going down that rabbit hole. It just depends how well you can play. Some great players played those shitty small Peavey combos and sounded great

Hi Ramon, regarding pots, check out the VIpots. They can be hard to find because they are out of stock regularly but out of the ones I've tried (including several vintage taper CTS) they are the ones that come closest to the ones on my '60s SG in both the taper and the feel.

I like to swap pickups between guitars just to understand what is coming from the wood and what is coming from the coils and magnets of each guitar and pickup.

    Love your videos like this.
Regarding your previous video I play my 1970 Gibson LP Custom unintentionally hard so as well as having a nylon nut I use nylon saddles.
It still sounds mega and not so many broken strings.
I have also tried Faber locking bridges but not precision made and also a Callaham steel bridge bud didn’t hear any difference.
Aluminium tail piece seemed to make a difference however I have a white Epiphone LP Custom that is stock but louder acoustically than all of my guitars. Put together and sounds fantastic plugged in.
    👍👍👍

For the record the 58-60 bursts all used nylon for the nut from gibson And it has no effect on tone except for the open.strings. Once a note is fretted the nut is no longer involved.

It would be interesting if you did one mod at a time to see how each changes (or does not change) the tone. I think after pickups the bridge is the big thing. It would be interesting to get a before and after with the finish changed only. Rock on, Goose.

@@TheGuitarShowGibson makes Les Pauls. Epiphone makes Les Pauls. If neither of those names is on the headstock, it's not a Les Paul.
