Something about RC outboards make a boat feel so much more scale, I mounted an Aquacraft EP-1 to a cheap boat, the Victory 700 EP which many people have seen in both stock and upgraded form, ran it with 7 and 8 cell NiCd batteries which of course weigh a ton, along with glass fiber reinforcing in the hull and a 700 motor instead of the two 370/380 motors, made for a HEAVY vessel, but it looks a lot cooler and behaves like a much larger boat, very fun when there`s some wave action :) Nowhere close to being as fast as this, I`d actually call it scale performance, but it has a brushed motor and I still use NiCd in it hehe.. I really like the outboards on this boat, they`re screaming!
You have to remember that many who go out and purchase an RC boat, especially RTR stuff, have very little grasp on what they are actually dealing with. They will after a while understand what changing a strut/drive/outboard angle does, and they'll work with that, and of course they will get some different props to find a pitch that "fits", but how many consider stuff like amount of blades, diameter, rake, cupping, tip design when choosing a prop? How many who run a twin think about the direction of the rotation? I can set up an RC boat fairly easy, and while part of that is due to having been in the hobby for almost 30 years, most of my knowledge about fast boats comes from the fact that I have raced the real deal. Once you learn what happens if you adjust trim, do different things to a prop in a real Fountain or Skater, then you get a much more nuanced grasp on what you are doing. Few people have this advantage, to we can't be too harsh on them. Many get their stuff to run fairly well and have fun with it, so I suppose that's the focal point.

Not overly fast as far as twin motor cats go but nice and stable, you can tell it would handle choppy water well, nice neat build

--- Most ground RC vehicles don't handle that well. Those twin out boards are wicked.
