i find this early gabber mix better than most sets on verknipt festival. its also the production method from the 90s, less hard mastering. More use of analogue equipment. Nowadays most producers make everything on a DAW on the computer, i find some styles sound hifi, could and hard in mastering. i find there is much to say to go back to an sort of analogue workflow. In a DAW you can process everything very extensively. Sometimes less is better. Maybe this is a subjective thing, but i like this old early gabber (1992-1995) because its raw, elemental, to the point, not much processing, it sounds more organic, mastering was less hard. I like 90s/00s techno also for the same reason. Props to Verknipt Festival to let a dj do an early gabber set!

Verknipt heeft het voor elkaar hoor, niet alleen de techno scene goed verknipt maar nu ook beginnen met aansnijden van de gabber scene. Stop met deze hype en zet dan een echte vakman/vrouw neer die weet wat hardcore mixen is en niet continu de flangerbutton aanslingert 🧐

Gabber was so raw, dark en fast. Hardstyle has a more melodic / euphoric approach. There are so many styles that definitely cross each other.
