This man has helped and saved a lot of adults from having accidental babies.

As a vietnamese. Latex collection is also big business here. You can see whole forests of rubber trees on national highways and large roads.
Same in Laos and Thailand
Indonesia too, its almost all of south east asia most likely
@@notusneoyup, also in Philippines
Malaysia too@@notusneo
It's amazing to think how long humans have done the whole "trial and error" things until they got something perfect
It's already impressive what one human can accomplish in one lifetime. Now expand that to multiple people in multiple generations.
I think most of it was more like "hey, we did this differently or we messed this up but this really neat thing happened, let's do it again"
Remember to listen to your elders because of that, theyre usually right about most things
Abomination
Never knew this. Hard working people for sure.
Here in Brazil there's a joke:
Serigueros (latex collectors) spend the day in the forest just to get milk from the wood.
How is this a joke?
Well.....
@@LiusilaTook me a minute for the inner middle-schooler to kick in.
@@LiusilaWell sometimes when you are in a poor community you start to make jokes to entertain others even tho they are about hardwork

When you see latex gloves, just remember someone slaved to make a couple dollars to feed their kids but still struggling
Most latex nowadays is synthetic, so it’s likely not coming from a forest like this
Hey he chose to work there 💀
@@a.c.i7020when you're born in these kind of areas you don't have much of a choice, there's not a lot of work in these areas so u take what u can get

Yeah, most medical grade gloves are made from a synthetic material such as nitrile. Some people have a latex allergy, so lots of medical facilities avoid it altogether.
This man deserves a vacation
Wow, I learned something new today. Thank you so much
Me too i had no idea idk why i assumed latex was synthetic
@@sallysorrentino4013 naw, you are right, there's both types. 👍
These type of people deserve the best things in life.
Like the bottom of the food chain, people who work in the initial raw resource industry is always underpaid.
Its more complex than that but if it makes you feel good sure😅.
Right! They're REALLY THE ONES doing all the hard work that deserve good money for it!
That’s insane. This made me think about how many boxes of latex gloves sanitary and food workers go through every day and it started as some tree goo. This guy needs a raise 💸
Most latex is synthetic we wouldn't be able to produce the amount of latex we use just off trees only, it's not sustainable
Thank you for my latex bed gloves for my son to have sterile wound care and the daily ones I use as a nurse. WE THANK YOU EVERY DAY
There are gloves made from 100% natural latex, but most disposable gloves are not 100% latex. Natural latex can be composted too (if you cut it to smaller pieces first). Unfortunately, most disposable rubber products are synthetic, or plastic mix, and not compostable.
sadly if RAW MATERIALS workers got raises, what would our 1st world country prices look like?
im just asking the question cuz its a balancing act, to increase their pay
either 1) the business takes the cut in their profits or 2) we consumers pay for higher priced goods.
and since HYGIENE isnt really a negotiable factor, the laws of supply and demand kinda dont work.
HIV, blood born diseses, bodily fluids, and generic germ transfer to the patient. i mean surgeons WILL most definately pay for their surgical gloves and sadly the bill will be passed on to the patients.
this topic will always be an issue for more than just latex, think of the african workers, the indians, the south east asians, and other nations of the economic/global south.
we reap the benefits of their exports and services yet the people of those nations still have lower standards of living than the very nations who buy thier resources.
My late aunt was a rubber tapper. She was up at the crack of dawn every morning. I miss her so much and the school holidays spent in the village ❤
God bless these ppl who work hard to bring us natural products
God bless him ,you know he's a hard worker and most likely a father providing for his family
Got to love the Rollins College shirt!
One of my ancestors emigrated from Eastern Europe to Argentina to work as a latex collector at the end of the 19th century. He then managed his own plantation and predicted the rise of the automobile. He started a car tyre factory using the rubber from his plantation and made a fortune.
Nature is amazing 🙏🏿
They deserve more money…
The dog following them 🥹
It’s amazing what gifts God gave us. I wish these people around the world got paid what they truly deserve.🍀❤️
In Malaysia rubber tappers will get less than USD1 per kilograms of latex sold.
Pity!!! Poor pays. The rubber can be process in thousands into different items.
What makes them been pays less than USD1... Slavery!!!
Very surprising that many here didn't know about natural rubber which originated from Brazil rubber trees which were later introduced around the world. Before the discovery of synthetic rubber which is produce from oil, all tyres and rubber products were from these rubber trees
This man is the real Trojan Man 🤟
Omg that's amazing...I truly have a new respect for latex gloves now
Everytime you put on a rubber for you night of fun, you can thank this man and these trees 😂
Is my japan latex school uniform made from this man
Malaysia was the largest producer of rubber in the world. The British introduced stolen rubber seeds from South America in the 19th century and started plantations, owned by British companies with cheap labour from India. The Indians in Malaya/Malaysia are among the poorest citizens till today. Eventhough the Brits left in 1957.
I had no idea that there was NATURAL latex! ❤❤❤❤ TY!
Thats neat! Didnt know that
Same here ,I learned something today .
Amazing !He works hard ! Be blessed ❤😮
As a slingshot enthusiast, thanks for the latex bands sir. God bless.
Wow! That's definitely a lesson learned. I thought latex was similar to plastic and somehow a byproduct of oil.
Another fun tidbit: you can also get latex from dandelions, but it's a lot less efficent
@@dragon12234
"Dandy" (lol)
That doggy in the end wanted some tree-milk
Underrated comment 😂
Amazing, hard worker for sure
Malaysia was the world's TOP producer of rubber... once upon a time... long, long ago...
I used to gather rubber seeds from the rubber plantation behind my grandpa's sawmill.
You can actually hear when a rubber tree's seed pods burst and scatter their seeds all over the plantation grounds.
There weren't many vehicles on the roads then and background sounds were minimal and everything was just quiet...
First, you hear a loud "CRACK" among the rubber trees when their seed pod matured and burst open ... followed by the sound of the seeds (4~5 seeds/pod), crashing through the leaves & branches of the rubber trees as they fall...
You won't believe how shiny and smooth newly burst rubber seeds are... That's why we loved gathering the rubber seeds; we used them as "money" or "currency" in the games we used to play back then... LOL...! 😁😅😂🤣
Thank you for enriching my experience in living. Beautiful memories. ❤️ 💙 💜
This looks like the most soothing and peaceful job.
I spent 12 years working in the food industry and before we were forced to wear gloves people washed their hands a hundred times a day. After being forced to wear gloves people would wash their hands about 10 times a day. Gloves can get contaminated the EXACT same way the hands do but people never wash gloves.
Also water and soap will not fill up landfills for 10,000 years.
Aha! That’s the culprit! (I’m allergic to latex) 😣
PAY HIS ASS MORE‼️🗣🔥
You will have to pay more, substantially more to have the extra money trickle down to him.

🙏 Wonderful natural latex process you have shown us. Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful video.
😮😮😮 thank you for ur effort
And this is the way to reduce oil based products with bio polymers to reduce plastic consumption.
Unsustainable asf lmao wouldn't work with how much nitrile is used. At my work we can't use the same gloves because of cross contamination
Guess where the sulfur used to vulcanize the latex to rubber comes from... Oil... Oil is just too versatile.
We just except that these trees bleed out plastic, a material with incredible utility and longevity! Nature truly is an incredible engineer!
What else is out there?
Ah latex, my sworn enemy.
I had no problem with latex until I had an episode with Kiwi fruit which made my lips and gums bleed! Apparently most people with an allergy to kiwi fruit also are allergic to latex. Sounds crazy but sure thing I am now allergic to latex - it's a funny old world if you live long enough. 66 (bingo, lol)
I hope you never have an anaphylactic reaction. I've had a couple from bee stings, horrible. And now I hate the taste of honey too - go figure 😜
@@richardearnshaw2719wow l just had an allergic reaction to kiwi and I have a latex allergy too! I would've never thought they were connected
@@richardearnshaw2719thanks for the education. I never knew this. Its a good thing I'm not allergic to either because I like kiwi. Who would have thought kiwi could cut your lips? I suppose if you eat the outside. I tried that once and it was all I needed. Never eat the skin again.
I love latex i have Japan latex sailor school uniform
Damn i used to drink that stuff

Haven't had a poop in years?
If anyone is wondering, the song playing in the background is called ‘Nobly Serene’ by Paul Mottram
I'm in the PH & I watch my brothers & father do this. We don't collect it while still liquid we just let it dry on the small containers & collect it in small solid portions.

Yes. Rollins in Winter Park/ Orlando. My niece lives there.
yes, it seems so much hardwork.
but think about.. they just need to work like.. let's say.. 3hours in the morning. mainly just like that.
that's a luxury itself.
and that's why they can buy some expensive motorcycle. like in this video for example there.

honestly I prefer this kind of job than the regular office job lol XD.
especially this is in rural region. soo the nature still kinda pristine. your quality of life is big there. but yeah, the modern facilities like medical stuff, electronics, bookstore, education, are not that big or even none in rural regions..
Collecting opium is way better
It’s so bitter
This should be shown in school 95% of Americans never heard of a rubber tree 😢
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝️ at least they’re keeping the trees alive❤
It’s pretty hard to find real natural latex in most products today (at least in the US)
Seems like a nice life, aside from waking up at 3am, it's inexplicably harder to wake up at 3am than it is to wake up in the evening and working in your "afternoon."
Lmao
If you put lid on the latex, with a small hole for the liquid to enter, wouldn't it make the rubber less likely to congeal?
Please he needs a vacation asap and a raise 🙏 why does it have to be at 3am? I hope he gets a cart with wheels to carry the bucket when it is full. Hope we can help him. Go fund him 👏
In SEA, millions depended on tapping rubber trees as a livelihood but the prices are so low that they could hardly put food on the table, so most governments give them a little subsidy to go by
Everyday before school me and my brother would go rubber taping. He was 10, I was 8. It was child labour because he refused to gave me my fair share. 😂
It's also a big industry in Southern India

Fascinating
Thank you so informative. Everyone needs a job. At least he works, not lazy.
When you had that drunken night and not had a fone call 9 mouths later thank this man 💀
i have never seen a spiral like that .
They need the system Maple tappers use, where there's piping throughout the forest.
Lol, I'd recognize that college shirt anywhere! 😂 Go Rollins! WP for life
Amazing ❤❤❤❤
Amazing work!!! I cannot imagine myself doing such a slow process job 😅😅
its not that slow
I’m surprised that they don’t use hoses like maple plantations do. Perhaps the sap is too sticky or viscous.
This has me itching violently all over just watching it.
Gonna be fun showing this to the wife. She is already wearing latex after all.
He looks like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. Is it just me? The stache and all
Good hard honest work should be paid the highest of salaries. (Getting this product) But in reality they get the lowest of incomes. 🙃 But they never ever whinge & never ever take a day off! True blue workers like these that retire or pass will never be replaced. Sadly another great tradition goes never to be seen again
It reminds me of maple syrup farmers in the old days.
Wow that amazing.
these people need to adopt the methods of maple sap farmers!

There’s always a chuchito around ❤
one of my mother's uncle was kidnapped and trafficked to work in these forests, he escaped after struggling for three years, everyone thought he died but he was alive and enslaved
Ok, this is insane, and props to that guy for doing this, that’s incredible. But at the same time… that sap looks a little bit sus
I wanna drink it
Malaysia used to be the biggest latex producer until came palm trees.
This is what we have been doing for the past 20 years...my father wakes up at 5 am and continue to work upto 4 hours, by the time the latex fills up the cup me ,my brother and mom collects the latex and which would take as 2 to 3 hours.....and it pays only 1 and a half dollar for a kilogram...its really hard job and pays very less ....
That’s approx. 35 gallons.
Or 280lbs.
