Posting this on the first and last of the 6 part series. FYI for other viewers: In spite of the constantly moving camera this series does provide some insight for anyone needing to replace the spindle, bearings or both on this and similar lathes.
This is the only video I have found so far showing the spindle and bearing replacement on the G0602 which has the same headstock as the G9972Z. I want to electively replace my spindle bearings as the lathe is over 10 years old and the videos have been helpful to know what to expect. My main takeaway from this series is to make a pair of arbors to install the bearing races. I'll machine them from aluminum to fit the ID of the race and the ID of the opening in the headstock. They will be at least 1" long; maybe 1-1/2" so they'll stay aligned on the all thread. That will eliminate all of the juggling of the heavier parts including the chuck (!) on the right end.

Thanks I appreciate that, yeah I know they are not the best videos, this actually started as an experiment to just see how youtube works for posting, what would happen and such to see if I wanted to continue, but still to give that kind of info, I did start improving with camera stand, and give relevant info not talk too much etc. but now I'm going to work on 2 youtube channels, and add more and improved content here as I have ideas in mind because the videos keep being viewed. regards Jared

Sooooo how did you get the spindle out?

If you watch about the 2:20 mark, I'm tapping it with a dead blow hammer, that caused the spindle to slide out the front, it has tapered roller bearings so the back bearing stayed in place and the spindle came out of it going through the front and separated from the bearing.

You can’t use hard hammer to remove the spindle!!!!

What are you talking about I didn't? That black hammer is a old deadblow hammer, and even if I was just tapping it out I could use hard hammer since I was replacing and not hitting very hard.

Moin , Dein Video finde ich gut, aber deine Kamera bitte unbedingt auf einen Ständer , die Kamera wandert ständig hin und her, mir tun die Augen weh. Bitte nächstes Mal mit einem Kamera Halter. Ansonsten weiter so.

Thank you Lübeck Horst, I used google translate sorry if any mistakes, but thanks for the comment I am using a stand now, some of these videos were my early tests on youtube video, watch for my most recent video of the homemade arbor frame for balljoint press with bottlejack. Regards Jared.
