New subscriber here, I love your work!! It would be a delight if you could make a video with tips for beginners (major ones being how to get thin, precise and dark lines, things to do and not to do, timing in between passes, what beginners should consider before hand poking their first tattoo etc.). Thanks in advance!
I've been planning on doing this kind of video for a while now, but I've just been lazy. I have some free time now so I should have it done hopefully soon.
That's very impressive! Beautiful work
Thank you so much 😀
is that second pass with a smaller needle? or just one needle the whole thing
The 2nd pass is with a thicker 11rl opposed to a 5rl for the first line.
What size needle did you use to get such a consistent line on the first pass?
looks like at least a 7rl.
Sometimes when I poke the line, the ink spreads and it gets hard to make the line properly. Any tips on that? I can see it doesn't happen for you
Yeah, that happens to me too. I use Vaseline or petroleum jelly to make a very thin barrier so it happens a lot less. I don't really show it in the video, but I apply it after each wipe with the paper towel. Thanks for watching!
Haha I recognize your knee from Reddit. Good job.
Hello fellow redditor! Thank you!
Another great video! I was wondering if you could possibly explain how you get your lines so bold and dark on the first pass? It takes me 3 or 4 passes to make my pieces actually legible, and then a couple more passes to get the black to look solid. Depending on what I'm tattooing, I use anything from a 3RL to a 7RL. I go in at a 45° angle and feel like I'm going deep enough? Any help would be appreciated!
just try to move slowly, make the dots more tight
@@KenRaka thank you! 👌
I have the same problem
How tf do you get such perfectly straight lines doing it by hand?!?? I started out doing stick and poke, but I NEVER got results as good as this! 😣
I like that you are back !!
Haha thanks! Me too
Looks good! And thank you for leaving the links to where you got the stuff from! :)
Thank you! I try to help in any way possible
Beautiful work man, I love it
This looks amazing 😍😍
Thank you!! 🙌🏻
Wow, that's a really good job!
Looks absolutely awesome ... it looks like it could have been done with a rotary machine . I have been tattooing myself for a very long time and Il ways though tattooing yourself hurts so much more but “stick and poke” YOURSELF is beyond me . 👍
Thank you so much! It takes quite a while longer to do these pieces by hand, but at the moment I feel more comfortable doing that than with a machine. I have a machine, but it honestly scares me to use it, haha. I need to get over that because I know there are benefits of a machine as well.
Yo this is amazing I have just started learning though struggling with depth? been into tattoos since is was 15 now 43. Got a fair few tattoos myself it has been mentioned here already but some tips or guide tutorial would be great. Thanks
Thank you! I'm working on a couple of videos like that right now. Stay tuned!
Que hermoso trabajo!!! Super prolijo!
holaa!! how much water do you recommend using with the green soap and how frequently do you wipe? aaand is it safe to use the same needle if i'm going in again a few hours later? saludos desde méxico! love your work♥︎
Muchas gracias! It gives a recommended amount of water on the bottle and I use 1 part soap to 5 parts water. I regularly take breaks during tattooing, especially if I'm doing a long session, but I'm not sure where I would draw the line for using a new needle. I've reused one the next day after leaving it in distilled water overnight so it wouldn't dry out, but that probably wasn't a smart thing. Plus needles are pretty inexpensive do it's not worth risking it to save a bit of money. As for an hour or two, you're probably ok if you use alcohol to clean it before starting again. Por supuesto, this advice is only for if you're doing them on yourself and not others 😁 Buen suerte desde los Yunaitesss
A lot of people (not very experienced, i don't think) who post stick and poke tattoos do many passes (like..10) and i'm guessing that's not ideal? Not to mention laborious. To avoid making so many passes (and i imagine putting more wear and tear on the skin?), is the answer to make your dots very very close together right from the start? Like, be more methodical, take your time and not try to cover a lot of distance very quickly? Then it seems you would be closer to getting a continuous line much soon, and can use your next few passes to fill make that line even more solid, and get areas your missed. I'd love to know of this is correct. It *seems* to be, as i've gotten this silicone fake skin and i started makin my dots much closer together, and I can achieve a somewhat solid like with two or three passes, whereas before it took me many more, like 5 or 8 passes. (I only just got my tattoo supplies a couple of days ago, so im a REAL newbie haha. Won't be doing a real tattoo too soon, I want to practice more even though it won't be the same as real skin.). Thanks so much for your time!
Yes, you are exactly correct! Taking your time and going slowly, filling in dots very closely will give you the best line in as few passes as possible. I've tried to get a solid line in only one pass, but it's inevitable that it needs a few touch ups. The skin gets irritated after a few passes and it starts to hurt the longer you wait before passes. Good luck on your pokes!
@@rsmith92 Thanks so much for confirming/clarifying and sharing your experience! Ok gonna watch more of your video now...
If I may ask another question: I did my first stick and poke tattoo on myself today! I'm very happy with how it came out. The lines look pretty crisp, it's just a little diamond/sparkle. It's on the top of my foot and didn't really hurt at all. Question: is it possible that the ink would like.. majorly fall out if I didn't go in deep enough? Or does the ink for the most part stay, so long as it's taken care of and heals nicely? Not sure if that makes sense but hopefully it does! Thanks so much!
I've been waiting for a new video from you! I love this tattoo ❤
Thank you! It's been a little while since my last video because I've been traveling, but I should have one soon. :)
This is soooo beautiful. 🥰
Thank you!!!
Y yo pensaba q era bueno en el handpoke 🥲... Tu trabajo es hermoso ♥️🌹
You make looks easy
Thanks!
Hi! Do you use different needle when you shade? Like do you poke the outline with 5rl and shade/fill colors in with thicker ones?
Yes that's exactly what I do! The filling in is much quicker with a bigger needle.
Thanks a lot!
Are you suppose to let it heal completely before the next session? Or just a few days rest?
I usually work on it the very next day if it's not too angry or after it's fully healed in two weeks or so
Wow, artiste 👌
Thank you!!
Hey this is beautiful, I've just started practicing stock and poke. What size needle do you use to get such a thick line xxx
How do you fill in the shaded areas? Do you use a different needle? And would you let me know what neeedle size you used for the lines? Thank uuu
Looks great!
Two things. Do you really not need to use thread and is going in at an angle like that the best approach?
I've never used thread. I've only ever seen that with sewing needles and I don't think that's the way to do it. And going in at an angle always seems to get the ink to go in better. Good luck!
Love this! How often do you wipe the ink away would you say?
Thank you! On the first pass I'll do a few lines and then wipe. I'll usually wait until my hand smudges everything and it looks messy. I'll do this so I don't wipe off my stencil too fast.
don't stop!!
hi bro is there a way to see how a colored ink looks like after tattooing ? like do u know any youtube chanel or website or something that shows that ? like i see this color in bootle but is there way to see how it looks like on white skin? also did u fill inside tshirt with 18rl ?
I have a video now on my channel that shows my updated tattoos on myself. Some of them are over two years old so you can see how they've held up. I filled in the t-shirt on this tattoo with the 11rl that I was already using, but an 18rl would have been a little faster.
I would have liked some regular speed sections for educational purposes
For the life of me I can't get a consistent line. I end up doing a couple passes.please help
Hello! I love your videos! I just have a question, when do you use the Vaseline? What’s it for?
Thank you so much! I don't show me applying it much in the videos because it ruins the flow of me doing the lines. But I apply it after every wipe down with soapy water (I use Green soap). It helps create a thin barrier on the skin so the ink doesn't bleed everywhere and I can see the line and tattoo it better and straighter. Good luck!
How do u know where to put the final dots??
I just use my intuition. The shadows tend to be closer to the middle so I just go slow and make it look natural. Practice makes perfect
Hey ppl idk how to explain it but how and what did he use to get the stencil thing on his arm for him to trace over?
Hey! I used tattoo stencil paper which you can find on Amazon. It's linked in this videos description if you're interested. I used a normal sheet of paper to transfer the purple carbon to my skin. I have to trace it twice and then it's ready. I might make a video about it because you're not the first person to ask.
HOW are your lines so clean??
Thank you!! Just practice and persistence. Anyone can do it 😁
is it important to go at it at an angle and not straight up and down?
In my experience it is important. It seems to get more ink in the skin with fewer pokes. I don't poke any deeper though, you don't want to go too deep and injure the skin. Good luck?
hew mateeeeee , what a great video , greetings from Colombia , what kind of needle did you use ??????
Qué tal compadre! Muchísimas gracias! Usé una aguja 5rl y 11rl para las líneas. Y una 3rl para los puntos chiquitos.
Do you recommend holding the needle on angle?
Yes, definitely! It goes in a lot better if you poke at 45° angle or so. Good luck!
@@rsmith92 thanks you
hey man im getting into hand poking how do you get such perfect line looking lines? mine still look all dottie
I just try to poke the dots as close together as possible. It takes practice and patience, but you'll get there!
Maybe video how to prepare needels?
RapZawszeNaPropsie you take them out and wrap them with a sterile wrap. video would be 10 seconds 😂
Good work! 👍
Thanks!!
What is the number of needle for the puntillism?
I used a small 3rl for all of these dots.
Hi..may I know what size of needles u are using ? Thanks
It was a 5rl and an 11rl for this one.
Awesome!
Thank you!
What size needle did you use?
This one was done with a 5rl for the thin lines and 11rl for the thicker lines.
🤩😍
Tgay was so satisfying to watch n its lovely...I think I'm addicted to the way stick n pokes feel lol well jus tatts period😄😜😝😝😝, um I used a 5sl needle thinking my lines would b thicker n was too chicken to do a bigger needle so my design is thin lined but still gorgeous and neat i would like it to b a lil more bold n shaded a bit tho.may i ask what needle did u use n was it the same needle for those beautiful dots 😊on the flower🌺??? I really wanna search the knowledge of how to shade wit hand poking
Thank you! Bigger needles don't hurt anymore I think. It's all just mental. I used a 5 and 11rl for this design's lines and a 3rl to do the dots and shading. I practiced drawing dots on paper (stippling) and just got a feel for it and it's very similar when handpoking. Good luck!
@@rsmith92 wow thanks for the info.u answerd n explained everything...o e thing tho,, how do I shade wit the 3rl.(like how do I shade handpoking is really the question ) n thanks alot🌺
No problem, I shade with the smaller needles because it makes very precise dots. I put more dots in the part that I want to be darker and less where I want it to be lighter. It's all about blending to make it look good. Practice with pen and paper until you're comfortable with it. Good luck!
@@rsmith92 thank u so very much! For takin the time out to explain it to me detail by detail. I highly appreciate the time.im sure it means alot you your subscribers to b active with them😊😎😍I also want to do youtube anyday now .I said summer but Its already here😐🤣🤣 n I still have no content n I'm shy n dont want people to talk about me cause the world is nasty that way n not so friendly😣😥😔 so I'm thinking of not being exactly in front of the camera all the time I guess ,but being active like doing my weight loss journey and practicing art,so u might see me around but I'm still uncomfortable with myself to upload me but I'll upload something exciting like family or something, anywho back to u n tattooing 😎 I love it so much it's very interesting n I thought u did exactly that " with shading but i had to b for sure"🧐👌🏽 (because u want to take your time with something u love n care about so yeah ,thanks again for getting back to me ☺️🤝🏼💌💌💌 #besafe n enjoy life

How do you know your going deep enough I have two tattoos done with a gun and one stick and poke and it’s fading bad
It depends on where the tattoo is. Some parts of the body, feet, hands, fingers all fade more than others. It could also be the quality of the tattoo itself. Sometimes the ink isn't really in the skin and it sheds off once it heals. If that happens you can just go over it again and re-saturate it.
Hi, amazing work! 🥰 How many passes is this?
Thank you! It was just two passes if I remember correctly.
Love your work !! Any recommendations on good ink?
I've used silverback and intenze. Any reputable tattoo ink should work well though in my experience.
How do you get the lines so thick?
I know now it's ok no need to answer this question
How many needles to use?
What did he use that the first line is so thick?😱
I just used a 5rl to get the whole outline on the skin and then went back over the thicker lines with an 11rl.
What needle did you use for the Lines?
I used a small 5rl for all the lines on the first pass and then a thicker 11rl for the outer lines to make them thicker. Good luck!
@@rsmith92 I already bought some 3rl needles...are they ok for lines?
Really love your work! Maybe you can recommend how to learn handpoke? I mean to do it professionally, not just try on myself. Maybe some good online course?
Beautiful! Ey what’s the song?
Thanks! It's Another Day in Paradise by Quinn XCII
How Didi you get the drawing from the paper on your skin?
I used tattoo transfer paper. I have it linked in the description from Amazon and it works great and it's super simple.
how many hours?
It was two sessions and it was probably like three or a little more hours per session.
Can pen ink be used
I would definitely not use pen ink. Tattoo ink isn't that hard to get nowadays. It's much safer and the tattoo will come out much better with real supplies.
Seen
Great video 👌👍 I love your work ❤️🙏 May I ask you what kind of needle are you using in this video? Thanks a lot for answer 😉
Thank you! I use a small 5rl for the details and an 11rl for the thicker border lines.
I bet this took like 3 hours
It was a little more than that over two sessions
How long did it take?
It took about 2 sessions with 2 or 3 hours each one.
good content b t w
Hermoso 🔥👄🔥
Looks like a clicker from TLOU
Be more patient when ur tattooing, for solid areas, use 18rl, it's more simple, ur line was cool, but be more patient,
one pass should suffice
giacalone oscar one pass should never suffice, he's using a 5rl and 11rl, and he's way more professional than you are right off the bat. maybe learn to be a nicer and more well put together person before using the internet.
How can any one sit through this horrible music
What size needle you use?
5rl and 11rl for this one
