Lions had multiple starters out due to injury/suspension, lost the turnover battle, had 10 penalties for 119 yards and still looked halfway decent. Week 7 with Jameson Williams back and busting open the back end of the field should make the Lions offense a lot more dangerous.

I've always liked Aiden Hutchinson. Definitely a few more penalties than I would have liked but good work by the offense and excellent work by the defense today.
That's the best defense my guys have faced so far. It was a much needed test, not just for the guys and especially the coaching staff. Hopefully we improve off of this loss. Hats off to the Lions for getting after it.

Well there is the first loss of the year. Much respect to detroit they played really well against us and they have such a great team. For atlanta this offense really did have struggles today, felt they could’ve involved the run game in better ways but it was a lot of passing attack and it wasn’t great. Offensive line also had a tough game unfortunately. Credit to our defense for at least giving us a chance to keep us in it. Even though it wasn’t a good game for us, we shouldn’t feel down. This is one bad game against maybe the toughest team we will play all year. Off to London we go to play jacksonville. Hopefully we can find a way to bounce back. #RiseUp

I think it was the 2nd quarter or maybe the 3rd where they had a drive where they kept running it and I looked at my friend and went "oh no, they're going to do this" and then they started passing again.
Coming from a 49ers fan. Hutch is the real deal and so is that defense. Hats off to them for a great defensive game

Goff/DET bounce back from last week. Seems like DET has picked off where they were last season and it's good to see them improving. Goff is going to have a MVP caliber season and they can win this division. Congrats on the win DET 👍.

Both of these teams are good with very high ceilings. The Lions just wanted and needed this game more then the Falcons and they showed up and proved it.
Yeah, idk about that Falcons ceiling until Ridder can pass the rock to his stud TE and WR Drake London. Tons of weapons with little offense. Not this year but down the road and likely with a different QB in ATL yes.

Ridder probably needs more time bit imo isn't very talented. Its hard to compete with a below avg. QB. Likely is scheme and poor defense reading. Brock Purdy in SF is this generations Tom Brady it looks like. If you arent an athletic demon or have Mahomes arm strength I think you have to read the defense and deliver good balls accurately and on time like Cousins and Purdy.
I dont think Ridder actually excels at any aspects so it will be hard to script for him.

Detroit winning today was huge. I didn’t understand why they lost at home to Seattle last week when a week before, they upset Kansas City on the road. But give Atlanta a lot of credit. They are a scary offense team this year. Is just that Detroit is a better offense team in general. Detroit - Green Bay game this Thursday will be very electric.

Iffy and Walker played well today. It was nice to see WRs get punished in the middle of the field for once. Havnt seen that since Quandre Diggs.
Didn't see that even when Diggs was there. Diggs does hit hard, but he mostly did that in run support or in the flats/on shorter routes near the LOS when he was in Detroit. He was definitely a good ballhawk for us, snagging quite a few INTs. But the way Walker and Melifonwu were hitting? I haven't seen that in a Lions secondary since Bennie Blades was rocking the Honolulu Blue.
Loved the blitzing that the Lions defense did. The Lions defense also tightened up their pass coverage in the secondary from what they played last week.

Lets be real though it was against a way weaker offense yesterday. The Seahawks WR core is one of the best in the league and most teams are gonna have problems with them. Our defense is definitely improved. Without all the turnovers and failed 4th down conversions in our own territory... that game would've been a lot different.
I'm proud of the way my Lions played today against Atlanta. The defense showed up and showed out, and offensively we were in sync. Good win Detroit!!! Let's Go Lions!!

This was the type of game I needed to see from the Lions. I said I wouldn’t be fully on board with the playoff aspirations after last week’s debacle even if we won in a shootout because I’d still be highly concerned. I needed to see the defense step up. Boy did they. The pass rush finally broke out like a wild animal. Guys who were nonexistent in week 2 came through in a big way. Anzalone is just an energizer bunny and Hutch finally recorded a sack (2 of them). Charles Harris finally made an impact as well. And the secondary was just on point. Brian Branch was everywhere on the field. Tracey Walker did an admirable job filling in for CJ. And Cam Sutton was phenominal too. Anytime you see 11 TFLs, 7 pass deflections, and 7 QB sacks then you know the entire defense was in synch. Credit Aaron Glenn for making the proper adjustments. If the Lions can maintain this intensity on defense then we’ll be just fine. GG Falcons fans.
I am a Falcons fan and tough loss but happy for the Lions and their fans. Been a long time waiting for them to have consistency winning. I think this may be the year for them to go far down the stretch. They have the defense.

When your defense holds their offense to 6 points it makes scoring 20 points look like a lot. This appears to be a very versatile Lions squad that's building on their success last season. This is how great teams are built.

As a Lions fan, look, I wish we made it to the Super Bowl and faced the Chiefs, but hey, given how long the Lions have struggled and faced futility and misery for the last 30+ years, I’m more than happy with how this season turned out. The Falcons have all those tall weapons and I still see Ridder over throwing them completely, not even giving catchable balls at times smh. He looks like Mariota all over again tbh. Barely ever any splash plays from the most important position on the field. I’m cheering for him bc he’s my QB1 but I can’t help that I’m witnessing great WRs TEs and RBs being underutilized by an underwhelming QB…
Two things can be true.
1. He can develop and maybe become average.
2. He’s not a Franchise QB.
Lacks the “it” factor.
AR and CJ have already demonstrated playmaking ability. But Ridder, we hold our breath every time he throws it more than 15 yds down the field 🤦🏾♂️

I agree with you. Ridder is not going to be able to be the type of QB the Falcons need now or even two years from now. Remember, coaching staff.... you need to do what is best for the team and not for any individual. Ridder just holds the ball too long and ends up getting sacked.

I was extremely impressed by the play of Brian Branch today! He was all over the field making plays. This is exactly the kind of comeback win we needed to prove to the league we're really for real, to put up a win like that with all the injuries and everything, shows we've got depth and character. Now let's heal up best we can with this short week and go into Green Bay and do it again! #OnePride
Think you meant bounce back win, because it's only a comeback win when you are trailing the opposing team and come back to win. The Lions never trailed this game. If anything, they dominated defensively from start to finish. It was very refreshing to see, and certainly a far cry from the defenses we saw from so-called "Defensive Genius" Fatty Fatricia.

My favorite part watching this game, safeties, linebackers, and corners were smacking the WR's in mid air to break the ball up. Keeping those big hits clean and legal yet deadly!

Lot of haters but Goofy Goff is really good this year. He smiled and actually having fun for the first time. Great demonstration of a good quick arm throwing hard flat lasers to all levels. Not many arms out there that good and strong. Good luck to him and the Lions this year, they are proving to be a tough and complete team that may not win every game but will be hard to beat when they lose.
